Warren Jeffs, currently in prison for CSA, is the leader of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, otherwise known as the FLDS. He claims that God commanded him to take dozens of wives, some of whom were as young as 12 years old. In his enormous temple/compound that his members built in Texas, he conducted what he called “heavenly sessions” which were essentially big orgies with his wives, which he taped. Ultimately, his disturbing records is what got him put into prison, but he continues to send revelations, which get more and more outlandish, to his faithful members on the outside.

To me this sounds like a weak, insecure man, afraid of women, who sees himself incapable and unwilling to have a real, adult relationship with women. Who doesn't want the inconvenience of women having requirements, demanding their rights, demanding the man to do his share of responsibilities and tasks of an equal relationship. It's so much easier for him to keep women quiet, "sweet" and obeying. He doesn't have to deal with argueing, dissatisfied, even angry women. The women have to do all the work in literally every single aspect of this unequal relationship.

I just watched a whole series of documentaries about WWII, including a pretty in-depth documentary on the leibensborn (I know I’ve misspelled it). I knew about it, not as much as I thought I did. I was totally blown away by how much like the FLDS it sounded. He had tried to turn the garment industry around and wanted them to produce clothing that was more traditional and modest, and started the training schools to train girls to be good Arian wives and boys to be loyal Nazis. He pushed families to have as many children as possible in order to repopulate the world after all the non Arians were done away with or enslaved. He also encouraged his officers to have children outside of their marriages, and all his troops to be involved with women in the “acceptable” conquered nations and opened these “maternity homes” to take care of these women and take charge of these babies. Who wants to make a bet that, had he won the war, polygamy would have come next? Probably, though, he would have been more scientific about it and turned the maternity homes into a type of brothel where pure Arian men could come to impregnate chosen women . I think there was already some of that going on. Everyone was supposed to have pictures of him in their homes and to even “pray” to him. Sound familiar? Scary for sure.

Not a polygynist, cult, but a cult where the leader also did things that were abusive and manipulative to members I have so many good memories of growing up and the friendships that were made, but not the doctrine. No way. I go to a different church now and have been baptized and for the first time I feel the presence of Jesus. @@nesser1352 It could also be a slight dialect. Calling little girls "young ladies", even if they're preschool age, is common where I'm from and even teenagers will get the "young lady" treatment. Adult women are "ladies" instead. I don't say it much anymore, but adding the prefix of young can be the signifier that they aren't adults in some regional US accents.

That little bit at the end about what feels right to YOUR heart, not the one they tried to create for you....i am trying to do the same. Im so angry now and feel bad that im angry...it really is manipulation of the highest order that leaves a forever impact on a person. Thank you both for this.

41:18: I work at a family planning clinic and that is so frustrating to hear! There is so much more to having babies than “praying” and “blessings”. I am not encouraging them to engage in Fertility Based Awareness, but there is so much that goes into than just sex and healthy sperm- if he has it. Like-what was your body temp when trying to conceive, what was the consistency of your cervical mucus, where was the placement of cervix during intercourse, AND does he have healthy sperm. SO much is put onto the woman as to why they can conceive or not but it’s not a women’s fault.

Ada, thank you for being so brave and sharing your story. Im sorry you went through all of this. I hope you ve found peace. I am absolutely flabbergasted, it is so surreal. how we can be so manipulated. but at the same time so mentally strong to survive all that horror just out of belief. The love for god is so strong that we can do anything. Why do we do this to each other ...??? how a single man can create this horror. there are many of those everywhere....

Thank you telling your experiences under the sway of this man. Dear Ms.Aida, i sure do hope you rewatch this conversation with Ms Shelise. I imagine it much like looking in the mirror twice removed. Much benefit in self reflection. Thank you for speaking ❤ with us. As a woman outsider looking in, I’m like: … … thinking, … my goodness !the height and of this mind control is absolutely mind blowing to me. I am sorry that you have been part of the collateral damage warren Jeffs causes. I do hope you are doing well these days Dear Ms. Aida, I look forward to hearing the next chapter of your life’s story. Until then, you take care! Thanks Shelise & Jonathan
