I remember Cummins reintroduced the 5.9L B engine in 2007 for the Indian market, especially the 24 valve 6BT as 6BTAA. The Cummins 5.9L 6BTAA engine seems like a more upmarket counterpart of the then 12 valve 5.9L 6BT and 6BTA engines, however it was defined as the base variant of the Cummins 5.9L B engine which was mainly used in TATA 1510c and 1512c buses at the time. The 5.9L ISBe and QSBe were introduced as prototypes at the time along with their 6.7L variants _(originally known in USA later elsewhere),_ otherwise the 5.9L and 6.7L ISBe started their journey in India with the release of TATA Prima trucks since 2008. I remember how it feels like getting into a TATA bus with Cummins 5.9L 6BTAA engine, which was proven to be more robust than the older TATA 1210 and 1510 buses of the 1980s, 1990s, and the early 2000s. I love Cummins engines, and the 5.9L Cummins engine is remarkable in India. Now the 6.7L Cummins is shaping our TATA trucks journey.
I want you to know this is probably one of my favorite videos on RU-vid, top 20 easily haha I watch it maybe once a month, my dream is to have a 5.9 swapped 110 Camel Trophy tribute truck haha
ok you have to make another video thats dang longer than this one please do it because your truck is awesome also if you could do it with this same cam angle that would be awesome and more double clutching
Need to do a trial run over here in Aussie land. More room to give it a whirl and drag her out. the Northern Territory would be just fine in Australia, because the whole state has an open speed limit. So you could just imagine listening to that beautiful Cummins roaring the highway with the turbo whistling beautifully in tune. Awesome. Thanks Tom.
you have the steering well set up and damped, I like that, I used to work field service Cummins, later I built boats using b,s, b,s wil do 20000hrs thout a re ring, ,probably the best bored in the block eng. ever made. I READ Cumminns PRODUCED OVER 10 MILLION OF THEM
Tom I'm going to put this engein in a toyota troop carrier within a year and was wondering though how fast is that beast getting you to 100kmph from 0 I think you use 0-60 miles an hour though?
Amazing. I work as a bus driver and have had plenty of experience with most Cummins engines. I'd like to (at some point) do a Cummins conversion out of some kind of Land Rover, Hilux or a Vauxhall Frontera. Can you give me some advice on how to do this and where I should source the engine? Should I get it from an old Dennis Dart or a DAF truck?
Hi Tom the trucks awesome I am looking at building one and have been told time and time again that the defender manuals won't handle the power and I was wondering what sort of power is it making and what gearbox are you running
Hey Tom, hope your build is going great. Ten months ago I commented on this video and today I started to look at Rovers with Cummins in em and I remembered yours. Frankly, yours is the best sounding one. I just saw that you made other videos so I am gonna watch them right now. Also, have you installed a Jake brake or an engine brake in her?
Haha, you can't fit anything in a Miata. I once worked for this airport car park company (the kind with valet parking) and I'm 6ft1 and I could not possibly fit in a 90's Miata even with the seat all the way back. My head was over the roof. Even if you did somehow manage to get this in a Miata it would just wheelspin like mad, like driving a 700hp Brabus E class.
This was last year loads of changes since then making 100 More Ft pounds of torque been built 2 years going better than ever. On a run she will do 30mpg
Tom Davies I remembered this vid today and couldn't help but ask how much does it cost to put the new engein in and do all the re gearing and could you do a offroad vid with this weapon??
Had ONLY Defenders in my life with various engines but this....sounds.....SHIT! WHO on earth would want a Defender that sounds like a dumper-truck?!?!?
Tom Davies , So is a bloody JCB, but I'd rather a smooth, quiet but throaty Petrol before I have a Defender that sounds likea rough London Taxi with lung cancer! Sounds bloody awful. Defenders are as aerodynamic as a brick, as comfortable as piles, handle as well as a WW1 tank.......yeah, might as well make them sound as bad too!😣 By the way, I had a 110 I fitted a 6.5l Humvee engine into and yes I pulled like a train.......but sounded bloody awful too.
