In this video, I go over D13 DPF Inspection, reasons for frequent regeneration and causes for a Volvo parked regen needed. Following good maintenance scheduled and help with avoiding unexpected ATS repairs. Checking to ensure your filter pressure is within specs before doing a regen is important. If your soot level is above the specified limit, it is recommended that the entire filter changed. If your soot levels are with specs than it is recommended that's different pressure tests be conducted before starting a regen. Check for backpressure is an important step to ensure no date is caused to the engine. Excessive back pressure can cause major engine damage.

Aaron, if not completing a regen than something is going on with system and it needs to be checked out by an experienced shop.

Thanks for the videos. Awesome stuff, I have a 2013 Volvo with a isx 15 it does a self region about once a day or every other day. Is that normal? The emission system has had regular maintenance.

Logan, that would be considered frequent regens. If you are above 300k than filters and ATS would need to be serviced. Let me know if you can make it by our shop. We are located in Dallas TX

Adam make some videos showing or explaining this stuff using PTT or whatever software you use for diagnostics, and where we could find references to these parameter values to know when something is right or wrong. Based on the numbers we get.

Would you happen to know on 13 cummins isx a moderate aftertreatment dpf intake pressure fault.. I have the MIL lamp on, and truck does frequent passive Regens while driving. I had the dpf and doc cleaned recently. Been doing the passive Regens alot since 500k its at 800k now. Thanks.

Hi guy's, I have the same problem on my 2015 volvo d13 it has now 1.2m km on it and I replaced this year 3x the nox sensors 2x def dozer valve the 7th injector 2x the flex pipe just got my dpf and cod cleaned out and a Crack in the pan welded. I put the heat blanket around the new pipe gaskets and clamps. Drove for a day and it was leaking again. I'm frustrated with the system.... what else can it be. Have original injectors just once an valve adjustment. Is it a wiring issue or def heater or.............. please help

I would start with codes and if over 300k clean, DPF, EGR cooler and sensors

Do you know what the problem is when a Volvo says SCR performance low? It says it needs to be regen even though the soot level on the gauge is relatively low, I do the regen and it takes it well and the message goes away. I replaced the nox sensors as well as the dosser valve and it did it again anyway.

@@moneymikeslickwill8749 neither one, it ended up being a very small port where the scr pressure sensor is seating that was clogged, I poked it with the little straw that comes in the WD-40 can and unclogged it, haven't had the issue ever since, not asking for regens anymore and not derating, crazy how such a small thing can cause so much trouble
