Letting You all know and see First had how much Abuse I put these Diawa BG'S 4000/5000. It's A lot of work, hundreds of cast, tons of pressure reeling In just one Day. Very tiring but very Satisfying. I hope this let's the viewer see First had how much work I put these reels in. Kevin Anderson yes.....taller is always better......9 is right on...but if you want to cast further...10 1/2...would be even better....😀😀

@@israelvibrations100 but with longer rods you lose leverage when fighting large fish like sharks or bull reds, giant snook. I like 9 feet max and use 8 feet for big snook or small sharks.

@@hothmobile100 that is very true you do loos leverage but surf fishing is l about your rod being over the waves...short rods are much hard to cast distance....but true what you say

What kind of rod did you pair with the reel?

The BG 5000 was 11ft Sealine Surf medium action. And the BG 4000 was Okuma SST Medium Action 10 1/2 foot...30lbs J-braid and the 5000 was P-line CX Moss Green mano 25lbs

my bg daiwa 4000 and 5000 break down adter 2 month of heavy use .. probleme with the bearing made of aluminum!! wich you the best with you reel but now for me i go penn !!!!!!! this reel look nice but is made in china ..... sorry but i m.not happy with my bg .. cheap chit ..

I'm not sure how or why your having that problem it must be a genetic brand made a copy...not from California...but from another country I have mine for 2 years now still working Awsome....I'll be making a vid on the same reel and see how well it still performing
