The main problem with Mitch was that he was just jealous of Lucy and very insecure within himself. I get that he wanted to be the one to give her the world if he could. But he knew where she came from. He knew she was a Ewing. I do wish that Lucy could’ve had a happy ending when it came to men because she really was a good woman to every man she was with.
I didn't know why Lucy and Mitch did get some kind of marriage counseling. To help them with their issues. But that was the straw that broke the camel's back. When Lucy said. Raul will pick up my things. I am going home to Southfork. Glad she left him.
He wanted her to have a life and identity separate from him . She did that and became a model now all of a sudden he's still mad cause she's not around for him. Dam if you do, dam if you dont
Mitch was an absolute pain in the ass. He wanted everything his way and he wanted Lucy to be the little woman beholdant to him. She would have been so much better off with Mickey had he survived.
Marlana Edwards Lucy did. Twice. The second marriage was how they wrote Lucy and Mitch out of the show the first time. Lucy’s explanation for coming home to Southfork showed just how much Mitch was a hypocrite and a narcissist.
Not only that...years later, I read somewhere that both Leigh J. McCloskey (Mitch) and Charlene Tilton (Lucy) did not get along with each other...on the Dallas set...or in real life. Oh...and I always thought that Leigh J. McCloskey was a really TERRIBLE actor. Most of all, Lucy deserved WAY BETTER than Mitch...Mitch...who acted like a WHINY AND OVERGROWN MAN-CHILD!!!!! Total imbecile.
I never knew that they never got along. Yes, Mitch never got out of his spoiled brat mode. How his friend Jean could listen to him vent all the time about Lucy is beyond me.
His own insecurities over growing up poor made him think lucy should be as poor as a church mouse and never want anything nice- they were so incompatible- a recipe for disaster- had they been more mature it could have worked but lucy deserved a better love story than that awful mitch
I understand where Mitch was coming from with wanting to spend more time with his wife Lucy but he was dead wrong bringing another woman into his place that he shares with his wife and allowing her to sleep in their marriage bed Straight violation
I must have missed this season while in college, was this 1980 or so? What happened with Lucy in the hayloft with the farm hand that was Jock Ewing's bastard son?
That would have made for some interesting Southfork dinners. Miss Ellie: Lucy! Kit! Hello! Who's your guest? Kit: This is my longtime friend, Bruce. Miss Ellie: Bruce, good to meet you. Bruce: Oh my! Miss Ellie! Southfork just looks... FABULOUS!!! Jock: *whispering* He's a little light in the loafers, isn't he? J.R.: *whispering* Lucy attracts the weird ones!
You see where Lucy messed up was when she got kind of Jealous of Jean, Mitch's friend and she should've never left for South Fork caused it really wasn't that serious!
