It still amazes me that OTH, of all shows, did a redemption arc better than so many shows. Dan not getting any inroads with Lucas just because he was dying was perfect. Dan being thanked for what he did and not being forgiven for Keith's murder was perfect. The only person saying 'I forgive you' being Keith was perfect because, yes, that was the person Dan wronged the most and so the one who could grant forgiveness for the murder. I cried when Dan died because of the acting and the music and all these reasons. Sometimes, OTH just hit the perfect beats.
@Likes&Favorites Dan had treated Nathan horribly in the past. He bullied him for years, so that Nathan became the jerk he was in the begining. Then there was Lucas, who he denied for years and took away the only father figure that Lucas had. Would you forgive someone who had murdered someone close to you.
@@msfriendsfan4ever788 and abandonded your whole life and/or abused you your whole life. He didn't just hurt Nathan or Lucas either especially when he lied about who killed Keith, he also hurt Haley, Skillz, Mouth, and most the other boys on the River Court. He framed a boy they were friends in the murder of a guy who they looked up to.
finally he apologize to Haley too! it braked my hart! "you now i used to think no one good enough for my son, but i'm so happy to be proving wrong!, he is the best thing that ever happen to me and you are the best thing ever happen to him" i couldn't stop crying...
The reason we all cried during this because we see that from seasons 1-9 Dan was never really truly evil he was just power hungry and screwed up in the head
I cried when Dan says "it's too bad she'll never get to know me" because my grandfather passed away last September and my 20 month old niece will never get to know him. This was so sad. :'(
He would've stayed the same though. Then again, he would've stayed the same after Keiths death in real life. Also, it took him a long time to change completely even in later seasons.
Ok I never watched this show but watching clips can you please explain why are they acting like he is dying he seems fine what happened I know he was shoot saving his son but he's in the hospital what is he dying from
Dan never gained forgiveness in this life. From himself, from his family. They obviously grew to accept who he became, as he saved Jamie a couple of times and Nate, but he still committed an unspeakable, selfish act that lost him his family. As soon as he crossed over, Keith made it clear he was forgiven. Greatest moment of the show.
Dan wasn't the best a lot of time, but he was never truly evil either. He tried to make up for his mistakes, and has apologized many times, he also has redeemed himself. A truly evil person wouldn't do that.
damn this show... i started watching clips cuz i was curious about it and ive already cried my eyes out with several videos ... like i want to sit down amd watch all seasons from the beginning but damnnn my eyes.. tears
Dan murdered Keith and abused him and others his whole life but he also saved Jamie and Nathan. You can be thankful for that but not have to forgive Dan for what he did. He hurt a lot of people but even more so after he pulled the trigger.
