This was unreal man. I've followed both of your guidance since re-entering active Crohn's last year after nearly 10 years of remission. And I always use the words "cherry pick" as well, because I follow so many people in the IBD and general health and wellness space. But this 83 minutes was so jam packed with information, some of which I had never heard before. There's soooo many layers to this and other auto-immune disorders. But thanks to incredible people like you guys, that have so much drive and initiative, humankind will unlock the mysteries of returning to wellness!

I have been in remission from UC since 2022 because of the work Dane has done. I joined CCL in May 2022 and I was in remission by that August. For me it was proper supplementation that was missing from my protocol… I had the diet down but that wasn’t enough. I am so thankful for Dane and all of the work he has done and shared with others. 💛

My 7 year old was diagnosed with ibd pancolitis and ibd induced autoimmune hepatitis at the age of 3, its been a battle these years but having come across such great content like yours has given us hope for his future. Thankyou for all the effort you put into spreading awareness and helping to give people options through your experiences

Thank you guys, and your so right about doctors👍 i was admitted into hospital in 2015 vomiting passing blood both ends, after 5 days the gastro had no idear why this occurred other than my large and small intestines were severely inflamed , i had no viral or bacterial infection [ tests done on feces] due to the bowel scans it was determined to be reactive colitis. No other tests were done and after 11 days i was discharged and also got a diagnosis of lactose intolerance 😢 i came home and looked at my diet eliminated all dairy and got lactose free milk, it took around 12 months to feel some response but i noticed my inflammation lessened and my attacks were far and few between. I carried on feeling way better until my thyroid went nuts after going back and forth to my doctor for 18 months i finally got the diagnosis of graves thyrotoxicosis and here is the kicker...i was put on anti thyroid drugs and wham!! Everything came back inflammation , pain diarrhoea ,doctor totally dismissed the anti thyroid drug until i was again rushed into hospital with server inflammation in the small and large intestines scans clarified this, i was taken off the anti thyroid and i eventually lost my thyroid 😢 but here the second kick in the teeth...the synthetic thyroid drug t4/ T3 is doing the same..but no endo will believe me even after i took photos of what im passing diarrhoea wise and showed several endos, they just keep giving me the same thyroid medication hoping to get a different outcome, but it never works because inevitability i pass it through my system before it has a chance to be absorbed. 4 years, still doing this crap😢 no doctor will admit its auto immune eventhough my graves was auto immune 🤦‍♀️ and my T3, T4 TSH blood results are always awful ...im at my wits end because i really dont want to take this thyroid medication as it causes real bowle problems for me😢

l have UC proctitis bathroom trips 12-15 a day. Got on meds to put into remission(2yrs) and while l had that break l found Kenny and a few others out there recovering from much worse then me one thing l picked up from everyone's experience is stick to organic foods cut out the processed stuff get the gelatine broths, fibre,organ meats,fermented foods find out what is stressing you out and learn to tone that down and be more calm about your days. l got into fermenting my vegetables, started drinking kefir daily, l incorporated at least 2 fermented ingredients in all my meals most of this stuff l have taken from Kenny. Very greatful of your vids and pod cast brother 🤝 My biggest issue l noticed was stress or letting past trauma stress me out that resulted in a mild flare up, so if you do get angry at things even road rage for example, learn to just be a calmer person in general it will do wonders in recovery during a flare don't think to much about the flare up or panic if you see blood trust the process and don't think about the toilet all day! forget you even have a flare up this mentally helped me get outdoors get back into the gym symptom's calmed but if you need to take a few pills to get your mind ready for this that's totally fine what ever works but don't rely on it as its just a bandaid. You just have inflammation not a disease your body is healing which causes inflammation don't listen to the drug doctors that have studied zero nutrition.

I pretty much agree with all of what was said here, it's a scary realization to know that you are responsible for your own health, and that you have to be your own scientific doctor to heal, but it's empowering in the long term, when you start making progress, and even when you just accept the responsibility of being in charge and take full command. The process of healing as described here is beautiful, and as he pointed out healing isn't linear, there are ups and downs and the most important thing IMO is focusing on maintining the overall direction of your health journey upwards, along with your hope and gratitude, kinda what you said about 5 steps forward 1 step backwards = net 4 forward. Not losing hope when things go down, being flexible, adaptive, resourceful, positive, disciplined, and methodic. I'm not fully healed but have seen some improvements since going carnivore, I learned vitamin defficiency is no joke, especially in restrictive diets, and if not eating any organs in carnivore (or even very carnivor-ish) diets, supplementation is very necessary. In my case 800mcg of B9 made a HUGE difference, and then also added a bit of C, antioxidants, omega3, D3, K2, and minerals (potassium and magnesium, due to fatigue and cramps), most of these have been recent so I'm still testing, but I used to have so much bloating (partly due to gases) that I had trouble falling sleep and maintaining myself asleep, these days it has been much easier and I don't have those middle of the night wake up routines where I'm about an hour trying and failing to fall sleep and feel very unrested the next day. I'd only add to be careful with that cheat meal, in my case it can be very inflammatory (depending on the food) and therefore damaging, but even worse, after that I get more cravings the next days, which make sticking to the plan more difficult, I'd say at least for some time it's better to just discipline through it. Finally, I also added L-glutamina, a probiotic, and prebiotic (inulin) as you suggested, to boost my microbiota since my diet consists of meat and eggs, for now I hope to maintain this state and my goal is to not get worse while doing all these things, to give time to my body to heal in a consistent manner, also taking more sunlight and restarting exercise now that I feel more able to, I think the part of going to nature musn't be underestimated. Anyways, thank you both for the input, nice interview!

There is a strong interplay between our gut microbiome and our central nervous system via the vagus nerve. In a chronic state of dysbiosis, there seems to be damage caused to immune cells at the mitochondrial level. When enough damage is done, they become unable to meet the needs of ATP production. This is why during stressful times, people might experience “relapses” or feel that they live under the constant threat of another potential AI reaction. Once you heal your digestive disorder, focus on healing your mitochondria as far as you can (it is not as easy as healing the gut).

Only eat quality game meats, quality eggs, well cooked and pureed high soluble fiber foods not attached to complex carbs that have less insoluble fiber than soluble and a good probiotic can make most feel at least 50% better just by doing that.

@pauldolton9118 Carrots boiled for 3-4 hours or cooked in an instapot for 50min cooks out most of those indigestible properties, acorn squash boiled for 1-2 hours, butternut squash 2-3 hours, honeynut squash 1-2 hours, zucchini 45-60 minutes, apples 1-2 hours, blueberries low simmer with minimal water just to cover bottom of pot and cook down into a jam. Peel and/or deseed carrots, squashes and apples. Zucchini you can usually get away with not peeling. Strain well before puree as you want the soluble fiber from the foods to absorb all the loose liquid causing diarrhea. If you don't strain it well it well absorb more of the left over liquid from the pot and be less effective in your gi tract.

Cabbage juice tastes horrible, but it was very helpful for me. An easy switch I've made is glutamine powder, so I can still get some of the benefits of cabbage juice without having to make/drink it haha
