I think the dad’s response is key. The fact that he doesn’t care that she’s doing this right now I’m sure is a huge factor as to why she’s still doing it.

From my experience and what women say who come from decent homes. If a girl dad cares about them, there for them emotionally, provides for them, faithful to his wife and family, doesn’t party drink or do drugs… most women will see that and say their dad is boring and a square. Instead seeking guys like their dad, they choose go out and get ran through by a bunch dudes until they’re ready to settle down with a guy who cares and conducts themselves similar to *dad*.

This video made me tear up man because most sex workers don't have a mom who care this much. His advice is spot on because her daughter needs to be reminded that she has support and someone who loves her to death. That is 100% the message to focus on right now. I hope it works out and regardless of happens, her daughter is fortunate enough to have a mom who calls a show like this asking for advice on how to move forward. Being loved like this is rare. I never had that and never will. I hope it works out for them. I hope time heals their wounds.

This reminds me of when I was in college and I had to sell my eggs to infertile couples to pay my bills. I went through multiple cycles of donating over several years. When my parents found out they were super upset about it, but they never once thought about actually helping me financially. Quick to judge, but gave no alternative way to support me, and to be clear, I come from a family that makes good money. If you send your kids off into the world with no resources, maybe don't act shocked when you find out they're stripping, selling drugs, selling their eggs, etc to make ends meet. Edit: I had a full time job at the time, but shockingly, minimum wage that college kids get paid doesn't actually pay the bills. Some of you are judgmental idiots and are the same people who would be against raising the minimum wage so I wouldn't have to do that. I had a happy ending though, I'm rich and successful now. So leave me out of your drama.

I mean just because you’re struggling financially doesn’t mean you should sell yourself and make bad choices. There are other, good, ways to make money. @mst-pierrem5729
@mst-pierrem5729 2 года назад
@@U2beRejects see here is one thing with that train of thought that escapes reality. We live in a society that if you dont pay your debt the collectivity will! And if you have too much debt you are forbidden legally to have acess to other things such as renting and other things you need to survive. If others depends on you (minors) it's even worst! I dont get people judging anyone for the simple matter that no is going to get you out of financial debt unless you die which then the debt will be transfered to the collectivity if the descendants and or love-ones refuse your thing. Let's stop pretending for a minute that this is a flaw in morality, when the big elephant in the room is your on your own as a adult to survive and we pretend to care as a society because we view sex with partners for money as sinful! Stuck in survival mode I'd rather give physical pleasure and orgasms than destroys someone's biology (selling drugs) in order to have acess to a wealth insure I eat and I sleep off the streets!! I was saved from making that decision last minute by a now husband who knew THAT ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CARED but that experience thaught me that forever more I shall never EVER JUDGE someone who's means of survival have arrived to this point! WE HAVE MADE A COLLECTIVE DECISION THAT PEOPLE MATTER AS LONG AS THEY HAVE A FOOD AND A PLACE TO LIVE! It is OUR collective inaction that makes us at least as bad as the sinners we try to cast a stone at! OUR COLLECTIVE MORALITY IS DEFFECTIVE AND WE GOT NO ONE ELSE TO BLAME BUT OURSELVES !

Stripping is not a bad thing to do, the money is not dirty, you can make a killing. Obviously many girls get taken advantage of when they’re naive, however, I know literally hundreds of girls who retired by 30 as multimillionaires with multiple businesses and streams of income! If you’re smart about it, it’s one of the quickest ways to gain wealth, men sexualise us women anyway, might as well profit. As long as a woman goes into it educated and knowing how to manage money (that’s the biggest problem of strippers they get addicted to the money and at some point it dries out) and how to protect herself and be smart about it.

But then the inevitable happened...I fell down that rabbit hole and didnt stop for ten years...But when I finally left the business I set goals and became one of the top criminal defense investigators on federal capital cases throughout the US. The money, the attention and the power you have in that business is very addicting. If she hasn't been in it very long there's a chance she could leave but with the peer pressure and everything...not sure. It was just a part of my life and now I've moved on and am at the best I've ever been spiritually and mentally. I made about $500 to $1,500 a night as well. Easy come easy go! That money would be gone by the following week. I didn't have a dime of that money left when I quit. She has to learn for herself though.

I did some smart stuff with the money I made. Paid off my car. Went to school and paid off student loans. The rest I blew on clothes and stuff and going out partying. I had fun though. I don’t regret it either. My parents did their best to be supportive but also concerned. They talked with me openly about drug use and staying away from the wrong crowd. I went to school and I was out before I graduated. There are probably girls I danced with twenty years ago that are dead now. I went to school and did stuff with my life after. Could I have done it without it? Yes, but I would have been in a lot more unmanageable debt if I had. So I made out ok in my book. I’m married over ten years today, have a house, normal life, no drug addictions, so it isn’t all bad for everyone. I have other friends who also did it and they have families and kids today and are also just fine. I support the mother going and getting her daughter, but I also support the daughter if she’s not having it yet. I just hope she gets out safely and doesn’t get into any bad elements there is all.

I grew up conservative Christian but man some of these comments. "The Daughter is doing something soul destroying and demeaning? She is going to have so many issues?" Everyone is acting like she is spoiled goods. Sigh. Do you guys think 'pure' married women are all so much better off? For so long women have been married off to men with little choice or say. Even now in many 'conservative' homes the man is often more like the boss of the house rather then a partner. That seems just as demeaning to me. Heck often these Husbands are much worse then the customers at the club. Even now marital rape is barely prosecuted. Women often find themselves in financially abusive situations where her job is to be a maid and full time nanny. Sometimes while working full time as well. Let's not even mention the verbal and physical abuse that often happens in these cases. But society says this kind of woman is better off? These women are Pure? Give me a break. The lies and the double standards of society. This woman is an Adult. She is now working to get out of debt. She is in charge of her own life. People sell themselves all the time. Some jobs are just more demeaning then others. Many women sell themselves into marriage for security and stability. Love is a recent thing. Many men sell themselves into the military and die or get injured. Point is there is always a cost. We shouldn't judge.

I danced for three years over twenty five years ago. I never got strung out on drugs, or had abusive relationships, or became a prostitute or had sex with any men or even fooled around with them. I only tried dating three men I met there in those years and they were all my own age. Two I only went on a date once with and did not have sex with them. One I became serious with because we had mutual friends and then I left dancing all together for him because ultimately I was almost done with college and didn’t want to be there anymore. No traumas no regrets either. My current husband knows I used to be a stripper and I’ve shared some of my stories with him. Many women I have met professionally since then that I’ve become friends with I’ve also learned used to be dancers too. Similar stories and they’re also successful and some have families now. There’s also about 50% of the other girls in the club that were doing drugs, dating drug dealers etc so I can understand that it didn’t go as well for the other half of women in the clubs. Yes there are rules for the clubs and most of the patrons follow it and so do the girls. Some break them and tip people out well to keep their secrets for them. I NEVER saw any funny business when I was a dancer. I tried going back to cocktail for a couple weeks and that was when I saw an incident of funny business. So then I was outta there because I am not personally down with that. So depends on the club, the dancer and the patron.

And even then, she's probably going to need to find a 3rd party influence. And you have no business saying one negative word to her about what she does. If you create conflict by continuing to be controlling, she's going to just leave. As she should. If you can't just shut up and honestly ask how her day was and ask what you can do for her, then she's not coming home because there's nothing there for her. Serve her. Talk to her like she's got an office job. You wanted control instead of a relationship. And when she turned 18 you lost control and there's nothing left.

To the caller: Mom, you’re going to have to be the parent. As long as you have open arms and an open heart, your daughter will be okay. Give your daughter a safe place to land without judgment. It doesn’t sound as if Dad (your ex) has the capacity to be a parent. Do what you think is best. AFTER you go get her and bring her home, tell your ex what you’ve done. (One of my friends gave me great advice about dealing with my ex. She told me to do whatever is best for our daughter and then tell him about it later. That way I wouldn’t be upset and complain that he wasn’t helping. For example, a few months back, I had to take my daughter to the hospital because of an excruciating headache. I made the mistake of telling my daughter to message her father to let him know that we were going to the hospital. His response was, “Do I need to go to the hospital?”🤦🏾‍♀️. I should have taken her and told him about it AFTERWARDS.). Step up. Be a parent. Love your child. Good luck.

This is amazing advice! I kept trying to parent with him like a couple but he is not capable due to his choices. It's so against my nature to just do something and talk later but it's better than being resentful like you mentioned. If they were healthy minded, I could deal with them in a healthier way. But for now, we do what we gotta do!

I was a stripper when I was young. Some of it was influence from friends but it was mostly influence from my ex-boyfriend. It had nothing to do with my parents. At first my parents didn’t know, I kept it from them. I finally shared it with them and they tried to be supportive. I did it while I finished college. I did not do drugs or anything illegal. It affected my adult relationships in my twenties and how I felt towards men seeing them at what I felt was their worst. Other than that though it wasn’t the end of the world. I did however see some girls come in there with plans to finish school and get into drugs. Honestly my advice would be to encourage very open conversations with your daughter about what she is experiencing there, drug use, if she’s getting involved in any other unscrupulous stuff, what her relationships are like and how they’re going. So long as she can feel like she can talk openly and honestly to share what’s going on with her parents I think she will be fine and move on from it. Just continue to show her support and love and be there for her. If it seems like she is on drugs, having relationship problems with any abusive partners, getting involved in shady behavior where she starts hiding things more, stealing or hanging out with really rough people then I would step in and take the advice Dr. Delony said absolutely. Give her some space to possibly figure out it isn’t for her and accomplish her degree but be supportive. If things don’t seem right then trust your gut and have her move back home and do what you need to do ASAP. Not all of the girls I worked with there were drug addicts, hookers, or going down the drain. Many learned to be self sufficient business women in fact. However you literally could tell the difference between the ones doing it right versus wrong by looking them in the eyes at their pupils and talking with them to see if they were on drugs to see which way it was going to go for them.
@bailee7696

There is no such thing as doing it correct it’s wrong all around. U don’t know what is going on behind closed doors of those women life. There kids have to live their lives knowing their mom was a stripper. These women did no learn how to become successful business women through stripping. It was a low point of their lives To say that they did it correctly is like saying a drug dealer sold heroine correctly and now is successful
@888altamber
@888altamber 2 года назад
@@bailee7696 you have no idea. You ever worked at one? If you have then elaborate for me. I HAVE worked at three and I met lots of different types of girls there. Some were pill heads, or other types of drug addicts, some had abusive relationships, some had daddy issues, some were there for cold hard cash and were really smart and had some major plans. They used it to finish school, start a business, and get ahead at an accelerated rate. Now that may not be something you like morally, but that is a fact. Not all of the women in those clubs are there to provide sex or drugs. Many want absolutely nothing to do with the men that frequent there romantically or sexually. They simply dance for them, create fantasies for them, and use the exchange of money as a method to make cold hard cash fast. Statistically it can go either way ending horribly for them with drugs, or with them leaving with an education or business or buying real estate. The latter were the ones I admired and respected there. They didn’t do drugs or hardly drink. You could tell the difference looking at them and talking to them. Predictably you could tell which would burn out and go on downward spirals too. They usually abused drugs in the club, stopped going to school, or had really bad boyfriends who were drug dealers or abusive. So thereby the way to know if her daughter is in trouble is to look at who she’s associating with and into and her relationships. Plain and simple. FYI there’s tons of women out there today that were strippers when they were young and you would never even know it today. So YOUR personal religious or moral beliefs is literally of no consequence to the reality out there in the world literally everyday.
@bailee7696
@bailee7696 2 года назад
@@888altamber oh yeah totally my religious beliefs have no consequences in the real world. Maybe if those men in that club were religious they wouldn’t need false sexual fantasies. As someone who has visited strip clubs and carry guilt from it. I firmly believe that they should be illegal. Sexual desire and temptation is way more addictive/dangerous than we care to discuss. It rips apart people, families, finances, mental health, etc and we are simply just allowing it all to happen on a daily basis, and not only allowing it, but celebrating it. We need this to end.

If you want sexually oriented business to go away, you need to solve these two problems. 1. Make sure all men, no matter how unattractive or cretinous they are have access to a sexual partner that they don't have to pay for. 2. Make sure all younger women (and by younger I mean anyone younger than 40) have access to good paying work with schedule flexibility that doesn't involve demeaning themselves. Good luck on both counts, esspecially since as a society we've placed excessive strain on parents to well, be parents who raise children who would never patronize or work in such places. Making them illegal does nothing to stop the demand that allows them to exist.

From my experience and what women say who come from decent homes. Most women can’t stand good dads who care.

I'm 20 and I work at a club, I make 15 thousand a month on average. Am completely sober. I actually started dancing right after rehab. And I'm in a much healthier mind then I was 2 years ago.... I don't fall into the influence and life of the club. Because I fully understand how toxic and fake it is. I only use this job as a stepping stone. About trauma, I am already extremely sexually traumatized and ruined for life. But that happened before I worked here. And It is NOT that bad. What people don't realize is we are not prostitutes, atleast I don't do that. It's probably not the most best environment for weak minded people. Who can fall into influence to fit in. But I'm not like that, I believe verh strongly in my morals and stick to it. And no one can persuade me other wise because I realized my life needs to be my number # priority at all times. Ofcource I have alot of trauma and pain from my past. But I won't say the club makes it worse or adds to that since it was already there. What I can say is this Job drastically changed me. I regained power over my body and myself. And control of all situations. And I walk around and assert dominance and do what I want. It is very empowering. I regained self love, confidence and worth. I went from broken and insecure to too full of myself, spoiled princess. That makes men worship her, and nothing is better then that to me. I live in a really nice brand new home by myself and spoil myself like no man could. This Job is good for me right now.

As a ex stripper … this was weird to listen to . I started stripping when I was at uni because I was told once I leave home there’s no room to come back ( my mum had my sibling 15 years after me ) . I went to uni in a house share with my bf at the time , we broke up and things got awkward . I asked the landlord if I found someone to replace me could I come out of my agreement and she said no . So I had to find a way to pay for two living spaces and my food and other bills . My parents are poor . I had a sports coaching certificate ( only level 1 which in my hometown meant I could teach but in this new city wasn’t enough they wouldn’t take my 2 years experience) it would if paid £15 a hour but looking at the maths of the situation I was screwed even if I got the level 2 . My parents wanted me to go to uni , I didn’t even really want to ( I wish I was more assertive but I was 18, it’s something I learnt the hard way ) so I couldn’t give up uni or I would of disappointed them . So I took the job stripping . Once I did it and crossed that line I thought I’d get my driving license , a car , a house. I did all those things . I didn’t go into prostitution and I didn’t take drugs at all ( not even smoking ) . It took 7 years to get out because I started believing I couldn’t explain my job history ‘ gap’ , that I didn’t have any ‘ skills’ etc . When in reality it was far from the truth , I’m good with money , I have sales skills , nerves of steel and I would build on my art skills in the day time without pressure so I got good . I’m now a business owner , home owner ( under 30) and debt free. There’s trauma , I have some dysfunctional aspects to myself ( as do a lot of people) I’m aware of it and I’m healing , I wouldn’t advise anyone to take the path I did I’m lucky and I thank God everyday it didn’t get as bad as it has for some of my friends and I’m very grateful for how things have gone for me . This is just my story . I’m not saying this is how it is for every stripper everyone’s different
