You can watch his lecture at 'talks at google". This is just a suggestion ; please read his book "an apprentice to Himalayan master" and then make an informed decision. Speaking of religion, I would love to see you have a conversation with the now adult Akiane Kramarik, the nine year old girl who painted the famous portrait, the ‘Prince of Peace.’ She began having visions at the age of four, and was asked if she would accept a mission, which was to show people what exists outside of this reality. She believes she was talking to Jesus, but was also shown visions of a quantum world, and other planets, one of which she said looked transparent. She talked about music in this other place that was like nothing a human instrument could play, and said it somehow had speech in it, as well as taste. She spoke about a time when she believes she was physically brought to another world, but at the same time was able to see the police her mother called searching for her. Her story is quite spectacular, because it seems to mix spirituality with other worldly beings. If not as a guest, you will at least find her story and paintings something to ponder about on a personal level.

I'm not religious, although i get a strong sense that there's much more to reality than meets the eye. In any case, i really enjoyed listening to that conversation. It served as an example that religion can still be something that helps. Often i simply view religion as something that doesn't help. That holds humanity back. I enjoy the instances where a thoughtful person is able to change my mind.

I am also glad to hear you intend to speak with intellectuals of Islam and would be great to let you give some recommendations, and from the US, one of the best options I could suggest for you would be Dr Hamza Yusuf or Sheikh Omar Suleiman or Firas Zahabi. It is important to increase our sphere of knowledge and the fact your podcast is touching many of such fields gladdens me and helps me like many others. Me as well. And I'd very much agree. Coming from a strict religious childhood to finding what my own beliefs are as an adult while still respecting my mother's beliefs and fathers lack of. The respectful humility that might take a little effort at times seems a small price to pay for their wisdom and sustaining a loving relationship with them. One thing I've taken fr It all? If one decided to believe in a god/goddess/God...one must work out their own salvation. And many more places to find God and the beauty he's created and our fellowship with others than in the church houses and synagogues. "Split a piece of wood and you will find me. Lift a rock and I am there " (I'm pretty sure I butchered that lol)

As a scientist open to faith who goes to catholic church with my catholic fiance, I cannot tell you enough how valuable these conversations about religion are to me--please keep this up. Idea: Bring back origin of life people (sarah walker, Lee Cronin, ect) in a more religous framework to help bridge the gap between science and religion for a deep dive into the deep meaning of life.
@jihamih1219

Interesting. I was raised a catholic, then I studied biology and became a scientist, now can hardly include God into understandment of the World. I can not find this "meaning of life" (in general), even less what religion could have to do with it, except for the psychological effects on people (calming, motivating) - something like believing that we use only 10% of our brain, and then people try to use their brain a bit more...It is false, but has good effect on people.

Beautiful and heartfelt intro Lex. Thank You for your quality podcast. The best and most true of words I have read recently are these: “War is a place where young people, who don’t know each other and don’t hate each other, kill themselves, by decisions of old people who know each other and hate each other, but don’t kill themselves. " (Erich Hartman)

My first introduction to rabbi Wolpe was through his debates with Hitch and i must say i have a new appreciation for this man. He defends his beliefs in an eloquent manner and i genuinely believe the man means good in this world. Thanks for the content Lex and good luck to both of these men.

Growing up as a kid I was embarrassed being a Jew as I was made fun of for it. Now that I’m older I’m a proud, bagel eating, penny collecting Jew and don’t give a f. Great talk Lex!

I really want to ask, do you consider yourself a white person? I'm not ethnically gatekeeping, I'm just curious how Jewish people self identify.

Lex, I think having on an Orthodox rabbi can help bring another perspective, though I don't disagree too much with David Wolpe. I think you'd enjoy having on Rabbi Tovia Singer. Rabbi Singer is also an expert on the Christian new testament and refutes Christian missionaries often. He's a very kind soul.

I am very interested in this series, not being religious but always having been interested in the histories of all of them and how they tie together. I am as we all are, a spiritual soul on this earth. Thank you for what your are saying about Ukraine, and I will patiently wait for your insights.

Lex, you absolutely nailed the intro brother. Kudos I’ve been vacillating about making a submission to your episode project which may or may not happen, on a similar theme to your intro. About ordinary people. Families, youth, parents and children and finding ways to elevate them to the foreground in horrible circumstances like now. I want to see my kids grow up. I want communities to thrive. I loved your episode with Lee Cronin. It made me sad to consider that his work and the work of people like him might just one day be there and the next day, not. What a disgraceful waste. A chance to come so close to discovering some truth about our place in the universe and connecting to authentic cosmic purpose. All wasted and for what? It’s cliché to say money but better to say that than waste time thinking about the other things. Luv Ya Lex You forgot to mention passing out at airports in your silly things list.
