RIP Davy Jones. Everyone who has met you says what a nice guy you were. For all the kids who grew up in the 70s, this episode of the Brady Bunch is an unforgettable memory.
I remember watching this episode over and over as a teenager! My mom was a huge Davy fan and so was I! I kept thinking to myself: "If Marcia can meet Davy, then so can I!" In 2005, that dream came true! I was very blessed to have seen Davy in concert in Wilmington, Delaware and I met him after the show. We spent about an hour chatting and laughing with my teenage crush! This video always reminds me of that magical night that I had with him and for one night, I felt like I was in Marcia Brady's shoes! We remained vey good friends till the day he died. Happy Birthday Davy! We miss and love you!
daraRoberts, what a beautiful and heartwarming recounting of such an important part of your life that you have given to all of us. thank you. and i am so glad how it all turned out, like a dream come true :-)
This part of the Brady Bunch show will always make me cry 😢. You see I meet Davy Jones in February of 2012. It was two weeks before he died. I will always have that memory. RIP DAVY JONES. You will always be in my heart ❤ and in my prayers. 😢😢 😢
I met Davy Jones in 1988 when he guest-starred on My Two Dads; I was a production assistant on that show, I got an autographed script, autographed photograph, and I got the shirt that he wore.
Such innocent puppy love music. How can you not smile!!! Simple and sweet and Davey just exuded love and happiness( and for the young girls a chance to dream....lol)
There will never be another one like him - that's for sure! I still grieve his loss too! The song "Girl" is backwards - everything he sings about, is what HE WAS to all of us!!! HE made our world a better place, HE made the morning brighter, HE made the winter warmer, HE made the nighttime nicer, etc. It's US who should be thanking HIM!!!
He was so adorable, and I was such a big fan of Davy, Mike and the rest of the Monkees. For some reason, his death is hitting me really hard. Like the young girl in me died as well. It's comforting to know that so many others are mourning him, and I hope he will always be remembered and loved. Thanks to Davy for being such a sweet teen idol that we still love him so much that we mourn his passing, even though we're all grown up. So sad...xoxoxo
My all time favorite Brady Bunch episode. I was 10 when this episode first aired, probably watched a hundred more times. Davy Jones was so cute and charming. wonderful voice. Loved him on The Monkees Show too.
I remember getting home in record time to finish chores, homework, dinner, dishes and shower so that I'd be ready when this Brady Bunch came on. I was a sophomore in high school and all of my friends and I had been waiting all week for this Brady Bunch with "Davy Jones." It was so good and even better than I thought because after hearing about Davy Jones, this was the first thing I thought of and looked it up here...and it was great! Brought back so many memories.
Who is watching this 2019? This is my favorite episode I loved watching this show. So glad I have the whole set. This is what we need on today instead all the junk.
I love this so much. I watched the Brady Bunch reruns when I was little in the ‘80’s and still watch them today. I just love Davy and The Monkees. Makes me smile. 🤗💛
I have already played this song at least a hundred times today. This was the song back in Brady Bunch time and everyone was in love with Davy including me, He will be missed. Sorry for his family loss. He will be missed.
RIP Davey you will not be forgotten. Your music lives on and you left us alot of good childhood memories. Now your in the arms of God singing "Believer".
"Girl" was written by Charles Fox & the late great lyricist Norman Gimbel-- for the Neil Simon movie "Star Spangled Girl" (1971) and then used in the Brady Bunch TV Show (1971) and Brady Bunch movie (1995)-- all sung by Davey Jones. Fox & Gimbel, a year after this song, wrote their Grammy winning hit "Killing Me Softly" which was recorded by Roberta Flack and later The Fugees.
But, the legacy of Davy Jones and his band, The Monkees, continues to live on to this day, in the memories of his fans and for those who loved watching The Brady Bunch every Friday night at 8 on ABC tv. I'm so grateful that we have such wonderful online resources such as RU-vid and Facebook to help us join together and keep such memories alive. Personally, my heart belonged to Marcia, portrayed by the extraordinary talents of Miss Maureen McCormick. She became an impossible infatuation of mine.
Davy had one of those voices. Very unique. The moment he started sing you knew it was Davy! My childhood was fantastic! Thank you for posting this clip! This was a real trip down memory lane. Now I have this song stuck in my head! LOL!
everything about him was darling!! even today, I still see him recording this song as if it was yesterday!!! He was about 25or 26 here!! the great , thing here, is that he was a really good guy. he got married after the Monkees, had 4 daughter and know he loved his wife and family, right up to the end!! he will definitely be missed!! Handsome man with a beautiful soul!!! lol Davy!!
Only 5'3 and one of the cutest guys I have ever seen!! I have always loved guys who sing and that accent! So sad about his untimely death! I am 50 and remember when The Brady Bunch was on live! Needless to say this is my favorite episode! Just cute, cute, cute!!
am i the only guy on here who likes this song? i surely hope not. my very first album was the monkees greatest hits, so they will always hold a special place in my heart.
RIP Davy. I had the honour to meet (well see you) in about 1968/9 in Carnaby Street shopping at "I was Lord Kitchener's Valet". We'd all just bought some crap Kaftans! A lovely nice friendly bloke who I will miss greatly. Davy you did good.
I love davy hes so charismatic RIP davy I love this scene. Forever in our hearts such an icon and legend just like elvis was we will never forget you davy rip in heaven
His face WAS perfect...such a crush I has on him when I was a teen...Davy was special and a big part of my teen years. Davy seemed to be a down-to-earth person...it saddens me to think he is no longer with us...lucky enough to see him four or five times live in concert...always a thrill! R.I.P.
What's cool is not only did they revive this song for The Brady Bunch Movie in '95 but after that Davy started including it in Monkees concerts from then on even though it wasn't a Monkees song!
@@CDash162 that reminded me of an episode of The Monkees where Davy met Blackbeard The Pirate. I swear he was making a pass at him when he said, "I always did like young sailors!"
joe gruszka there were no other Monkees because this was after they disbanded. they probably didn't do Daydream Believer because of copyright issues or they wanted to do something different. No argument from me. This is my favorite Davy song
joe gruszka He couldn't without permission from the record company. The Monkees had split up around this time. Also he was working on releasing a solo album.
It is so sad that Davy Jones is gone. I love the Monkees show and even this appearance on the Brady Bunch. RIP Davy. I miss you already, but your music lives on.
I had 8 years old and I dream it to be a drums played; this group was one of my inspiration. I did not miss a TV show. Four years after my dream come true went we organize a group named it The Adams Love, and The Liberation after. Bless with all blessings.
I watched The Brady Bunch and The Monkees when I was little! I also got to see Davy when he played Vince Fontaine in the production of Grease that came to Chicago years ago! Wonderful to watch this and relive those memories!
