I’m a mom with an 18 month old. We postponed our wedding for 2 years due to covid. Finally getting married in October and this program is exactly what I needed. Thank you 🙌🏼 I work full time 40-50 hours a week, and I usually only have 30-45 minutes to get in/out of the gym 3-4 times per week. I’m very excited to try this to help me get in a little better shape before my wedding!

Just bought the plan. Can’t wait to start, love the idea of 3 days a week! Mother of 4, pregnant with 5th baby, work full time & studying.. so time is not my friend. I have tried shorter daily programs but I miss days & honestly I do manage 3 days a week so this is perfect! See how I go.

Honestly from an outside perspective you just look super healthy and happy now and I'm so glad you followed through on your journey. You don't look super tiny anymore of uncomfortable you just look amazing and as someone that really struggles to even eat and can never gain weight you're an inspiration that if I stick with it and keep working I can meet my goals of being happier and healthier in myself.

I agree with you, I did my entire thesis on body image in weight class vs no weight class sports. That being said, yes, any time you are placing emphasis on intentionally manipulating your body to obtain an appearance or weight the sport deserves to catch some flack because of the risk factors that go along with it 🤣

Obviously, 600 calories a day is extreme. I know A LOT of people who compete and none of them take their calories that low. That’s insane.

I disagree on your note about bodybuilding being able to be done a "healthy way" majority of competitors have to get down to unhealthy and unsustainable body fat levels to even make it to stage let alone place well/win. As someone who used to compete and never received lower than 2nd place I lost my period EVERY SINGLE competition. I knew many other women who went through the same thing.

Yup. Competitive sports are all unhealthy. Pushing your body to extremes is never healthy.

A lot of women lose their periods in other sports too which is kinda what Steph was touching on. All sports can be “harmful” but if you have good coaches in season & off season then you should be okay for the most part if it’s something you are super passionate about & want to continue doing :)

@@fitbyindi my point is specifically in BBing which is what she was referring to is that regardless of what you do off season, the body fat percentage that all competitors have to get to in order to make it to stage is not healthy for women no matter what "healthy" approach you take to get to stage weight. We are meant to have a higher body fat percentage than men because we grow children. When we reach abnormally low body fat percentages (which is beyond common in female BBers) to even reach a competitive level, our bodies shut down our reproductive system because conditions arent optimal for reproduction. Its unrealistic and even naive to believe that, that can be done in a "healthy way" nothing about that low body fat percentage is healthy especially for females.

It looks like you had the wrong coach. I got down to 7% bf for my show eating 2200-3200 until 3 weeks out. Dropped cals to 1800 the last 3 weeks to tighten up more. I was doing 60 mins of cardio 5 times a week, and had a blast training. I should also add I was 100% natural and had been lifting with the idea of competing for 5 years.

This is absolutely not true what you’re saying about “it’s like any other sport.” There are not many sports than require a level of such extremes, 600 calories a day (INSANE AND SICK!!) to meet your goal. Physique and bodybuilding is ONLY judged on aesthetics not even athletic performance. So superficial. Yes there are other sports that require you to “make weight” or where you’re partially judged by being thin/physique (i.e. ballet, gymnastics), but NOTHING this extreme where you’re ONLY being judged aesthetically. Seems super unhealthy for both mental and physical health. It’s why it’s very hard for me to say “yeah that’s a great fitness goal to have!”Ugh. Cringe. I said what I said!!

Really? Well your wrong, I was a ballet dancer. I’m not gonna waste the words or time to explain my point but ballet can be FAR more extreme. Not just severe calorie restriction but cocaine and bulimia as well. I’m guessing you don’t know much

@@scarlettwinters5642 I lived with a professional ballet dancer. So I know there can be extremes in any sport, ballet included. There’s also bodybuilders (and ballet dancers) that don’t go to such extremes. But my overall point is going over your head, I’m guessing because you don’t know much. I’m sorry you went through all that as a ballet dancer. I’ll pray for you. 🙏🏾

Serious commitment to any sports require a level sickness that's goes beyond health. Whether it's extreme training of any kind, reducing calories, cutting weight a few days, body combat, doing extreme stretching in air at 30ft (I was an aerial acrobat for 10 years), or running for crazy miles reducing immunity and increasing joint issues. I used to judge body builders until I realize my sports were just as crazy in other aspects

Hi Stephanie! I was wondering if you could explain the importance of breathing and breathing correctly when working out. I had a trainer tell me that I wasn’t breathing correctly and (this might sound stupid) but I don’t remember how I’m supposed to breathe. Thank you!
