I definitely agree there's a wonderful balance of holding your hand but also letting you figure things out on your own. The beacon will show you the general area of your objective but you still have to investigate and puzzle solve. Equally helps from getting too frustrated but also presenting a good challenge! Great vid as always!

@@Die-Angst bioshock games were one of the horror classics, yeah the one with floating city wasnt as good but the first bioshock specifically was a good game Edit: ok i have rewatched BioShock infinite, it's pretty nice now with fresh perspective ngl

Well the guys play it safe by not giving actual number scores. I've watched reviews of games getting nothing but praise only to get a 7. They do it not to get the backlash and hide behind the truth
@@rayromano6249 I disagree, I think video game review scores are pointless most of the time because there are so many different genres and people have drastically different tastes, and these game journals don’t always have the same reviewers. Doing a review like this where they give you the pros and cons of a game is way better in terms of helping people decide if it’s something they want to buy, instead of debating about whether the score is justified.

This game exceeded my expectations! I considered the first dishonored one of my favorite games ,I’m about 10 hours in and it’s Quickly becoming my favorite game. It takes some of the best mechanics from games, like Hitman, Dishonored and dark souls and feels very smooth and fluent
I LOVE this game! I was really worried about the timer aspect, but I quickly realized it is well made. Yes, you are on a timer, but you have control of how it progresses. God I love it.. I was SO relieved to figure out that you can save stuff between runs after doing some work.. such a unique game!
the concept of julianna is so cool, i love the idea of being hunted by another player that’s tied into the narrative of the game. it’s not just some other version of you for just a pvp match.
Ive played Uncharted 2 and 4 like 5 times each, beat Resident Evil 4 more times than I can count, Dishonored 1 and 2 like 3 times each, Hollow Knight, Bloodborne

He only gives impressions..... if you only buy games to play them for like maybe 2 or 3 hours,then listen to his vids and buy those games. Personally, I only play games for 2 or 3 hours, so I listen to his recommendations. Have a nice day

Genuinely one of the best games I've played in a long time. I go to bed and get those dreams about what I wanna do in the game next, haven't felt that way since Diablo 3 came out.
I wasn't even bothered at all by this game up until i started watching gameplay and reviews. I love Dishonoured and this looks just like that but more guns and 60's vibes. Maybe i'll get it. I don't like paying £70 for a game though
Finally picked this up last night. I was drawn to it because it looked very original and different. That's not easy to do in this day and age. The game does do a lot of explaining at the first. It was like watching Inception where they explain everything. Very fun though, highly recommended!
To me this game looks like one of those "wait until its 50% off" titles. Looks pretty fun, although I don't know if I'd like it as much as something like Rift Apart, Returnal, or RE8.
Was totally intrigued when I first heard of this game a while back, and I'm glad to see that this seems like something up my alley gameplay-wise. I'm in. See you on the loop.
I really loved the replayability of the Dishonored games so I'm happy to find out it's gameplay cycle is similar with a new story and cast of well written characters. Hope to play it soon
@@Die-Angst Dishonored is in the genre "immersive sim"... You clearly have no Idea about the genre. The whole point of Dishonored atmosphere would not work in 3rd person
I think it's great that they are using the things they learned while developing the dishonored franchise. Especially as a fan of those games, i really like that they didn't just go for an entirely different type of game, but re used the core mentality and feeling of dishonored.
I just played it and beat it for the first time just now. I enjoyed this game alot…also 😂😂😂. Very cool indeed. The voice acting is top notch and makes the game.
I’ve been playing it the last few days and early on it’s a bit all over the place but once you really get a feel, it has legit game of the year potential
The concept of the game works so well with the way arkane designs it’s games. Replaying the same levels over and over, learning more and challenging yourself is built into the game. As the main character becomes more knowledgeable about world, so do you. This is why you find people that say they Love dishonored when others who just played through once will think it’s a good game but nothing special.
Eghh IV been playing for 2 days now...being brutally honest here and please listen to me....I already feel no need to finish the game and I'm already back to playing call of duty. Wait for it to go on sale. People tend to over sale things that are just decent these days. It's not really worth the price if your really looking to be entertained. Everything in this game has been done before. And I literally mean that. It's a 6 out of 10 game. It's average. And anyone that disagrees is straight up suffering from nothing to playism. Wait for the more honest reviews from content creators to come out. Guarantee they will be saying exactly what I just said. It's alright. A shelf game. Nothing you will ever pick back up after your done with it.
I think the PvP is one of the best features. It's a proper piece of psychological combat as well just shooting. I've out thought Julianas. Booby trapped her expected route and had Julianas outthink me. The human intelligence makes this very challenging at times. Another feature is the dynamic loop stress, that scales up the enemies depending on Colt's current loadout.
and also the performance on pc is very wonky, so I'd say buy a ps5 if that were possible in 2021. I also don't mind they recycled the teleport from d1 and and domino from d2 cause if you're already familiar with those then using them in deathloop, and especially the mastery of teleportation is a must for some.
@@TitusMH are you crazy, big name games go on sale at xmas, the new 2k goes for like a dollar around black friday on psn if i remember right, thats just to get people playing and spending $$ in game. This game has a very low interest rate from everything ive seen, if people really dont buy it that will cause a sale so they can try to make something at least
I have been looking forward for this game for a LONG time so I was also looking forward for this video! I was hyped for it since the first trailer with that awesome "Nowhere to Run" remix and thought the premise was very interesting. Even though I was kinda bummed because they recently revealed it's a timed PS5 exclusive and I don't own one, I watched this video and remembered I now have a laptop :D So I think I might buy and play it on PC instead of on PS4
They recommend a i7 9700k and a 2060 to run the game at 60 frames at 1080p. Idk if frames and stuff is super important to you, but just thought I’d let you know

This game was not on my radar, but it looks really cool! However, I've seen that the Anti-Piracy software is breaking it hard on Steam, with many people suffering terrible lag. And the only other platform it is available on is PS5, which still is not available for sale in Europe yet (a year after launch). So I would love to try it, just wish they released this on PS4, XB1 (like isn't this a Bethesda game that is owned by Microsoft?)
This game looks like a ton of fun! I’ve actually never played an Arkane game, so I’ll play those first(by the time I get around to Deathloop the exclusivity will probably be up and any bugs will be gone). I’m looking forward to Dishonored, I plan to do a pacifist run for the “good ending” and then a second run where I get to have fun and screw around with super powers.

After IGN giving this a solid 10 I needed Jake to cut through the hype. Still think it looks great fun but now lowering my expectations a bit which I imagine will be a better way to approach it. Great job as always dude.
@@user-qz3hb9kk5u Ehhh, i mean personally i tend to agree with smaller individual review outlets over big companies. But IGN is usually spot on with 10/10s. That being said im waiting to see for any updates regarding AI
I kinda want Arkane to do more story heavy games so this is a little bit disapointing for me. I love Dishonored and I hope they make another Dark Messiah game as well, because I simply loved the sandbox in that game, especially making enemies slip off cliffs with Ice.
We got so many games that are story heavy games already(especially on playstation) it nice to have something that isn't that for once and tries being unique
To be fair, the best part of the Dishonored series was the environmental story-telling, not the actual main plot itself. Imo the main plotlines for D1 and 2 were not as special as the narrative the world itself was showing. Especially with everything after the first game (imo i still love all of them). I'm expecting the same for Deathloop.
About a couple hours into it and honestly this game is fun af. I was interested in it when I saw it on the PS5 reveal last year and I was right on my hype. I think arkane did a damn good job on this game. And it's pretty too in quality or performance mode. Didnt notice alot of framedrops, loads pretty quick and the pacing is nice. Not gonna give it a number yet since I havent beat it, but as of now I am gonna say that I recommend this to any PS5 or PC owner.
When I watched the first trailer for this game I wasn't convinced on this game at all, honestly thought to myself "mmm probably will make a bit of noise but will die off quickly". However after seeing proper gameplay and understanding the concept abit better I'd say it's a decent game.
I have 12 hours into it, and it really is a lot of fun to Plat especially once you start getting upgrades and used to the gameplay loop. I would rate it a 8/10.
I cannot wait to play this. I've been waiting very patiently on a true Playstation 5 game and this looks like it'll be it. Arkane are masters of their craft. 👍🏻🥇
Gets boring after a while. Seems like a game that just holds you over until some9better comes out. Probably the reason why it's been discounted for 6 months on ps5 store before release.
Love this game so much. I loved how mad the pvp elements made me with the random invasions. It took me sometime but I figured out how to hunt Juliana like Predator with cloak.
i got a ps5 a month or 2 back and finally got around to playing this game. I actually really like it. Was never a huge fan of dishonored, but i dig this one a lot. I really like the character interactions though i do think its a bit weird how theres next to no space in between the banter between Colt and Juliana, like theyre talking on 2x speed. Also the bug where you get stuck in the menus is still there.
Should I buy it? It’s on sale today only. I never played mooncrash, dishonoured, or any of those. Is it boring? I appreciate any comment whatsoever on this game. Thank you!
Your videos are becoming a necessity before I purchase any game. I enjoy your enthusiasm, professional criticism and courage to tell it like it is about some games I’ve watch you review in the past without worrying about reprisal from developers or mouthy gamers like myself. As much as I loved this review it doesn’t sound like this game is for me, you explained a LOT of stuff you have to do and while I’m not opposed to a lot of game work this seems a lot like Bioshock with a dash of rougelite which isnt my cup of Coors Banquet beer lol. Arkane has been the spiritual successors to bioshock / systemshock type games. If you haven't played Prey you should check it out, imo its a love letter to Bioshock in it's design
As a ps5 owner, i feel like i gotta play this game. Why? Well most of the game on ps5 are old games enhanced so i kinda need something new and fresh even if the story is okay
I would have preffered if Arkane have done an open world with the mechanics and creativity of Prey or Dishonored, but they at least pull out what it might be another stylish creative game, maybe too much headed to the fast pace online crowd but it seems that they still ARE them. If this gaves them more money to future Preys and Dishonores or my open world wish type of game, so be it
Arkane is my favorite modern game developer- and I have absolutely no desire to play this and feel slightly guilty about it. I thought Mooncrash was brilliantly designed even though I didn’t enjoy playing it. As a cool little experiment I dug it. This is Mooncrash “Full Game Edition”. It makes me sad that their publisher probably just isn’t on board with funding the type of games they do so well anymore
Who else is here cause they dropped the game to $40? Debating picking this up but that fast of a price drop isnt promising. Could be $20 in a month or two now
@@aolanikainoa552 yet returnal looks way funner. Also returnal wasn't divisive it got good scores by most. Only thing was people didn't realize it was a Rougelite

@@jontybray743 it's not on the same level as dishonored but it's definitely way better than returnal. It's the only interesting game in PS5 lineup that is not another third person boring cinematic game
This has NEVER been done before it's totally next gen im amazed. Never seen this loop concept being used Zelda Majoras Mask, Returnal or any other game, This is just crazy "next gen" stuff 😯
