83 was the close of an era. Rock reached its zenith. The mid 80s brought in the hair bands that only emulated the great rock sound you hear in this movie
Thanks. I knew about "Maybe For Sure", but I still dig the Rock and Rule version better. Although a bit more raw and unrefined, that's what really gives the tune its charm.
"You know, love's not what you think. Too weak to stand on, like quicksand in which you sink. Love is anything you make it. How can I let you feel my love...feel me, and still feel free? I may not have the answers now, so what? To be on time, and on the beat."
I think the film would have done better if it was alot more longer and concentrating on omar and his freinds saving angel instead of making it really short and making the final fight take place back in they're home town. The final fight should been in an flying palace in the skies.
that wouldn't make any sense because Mok needed the power from Ohm Town, seeing how the city had the biggest power plant. And the fact that they had the final fight back at their home was actually pretty great, because it's as if they are fighting for each other and their home, the place both Angel and Omar met. also don't forget the song Omar and the rest of the band sang, "Ohm sweet Ohm", they oviously loved their home that much to write a song about it hahah
I've loved this song since I saw the movie as a kid. Incredible that you cannot get this song on any tangible audio format (LP, cassette or CD). Although the entire soundtrack is great, this song is the one that shines above the rest. Had it been released as a single back in the 80s I'm certain it would've been a big hit. Someone please release this soundtrack!
1983 ? I was 11 yrs old O_o But I was more than familiar with the music from each contributing artist from this movie even back then. Thank you for posting it.
It wasn't a "turd" the American audiences weren't ready for a film like this, the interest in adult animation wasn't as prevalent as it is today. If this film would have released today it would have had a very different reception....i just recently discovered this and trying to get it on disc or vhs is a nightmare hopefully they remake it oneday.
This song always remind me of Michael DeLuise. Michael was really gorgeous back in day when he had Farrah Fawcett's hair and Chris Sarandon's face. Michael DeLuise was a real angel in that age.
@ThatOneAccount931 The Canadian version, aka, the unedited version is the original. The American version was extremely toned down because they wanted to market the film to children. As such, a number of drug references and hidden swear words were removed from it. You can find the original version on this very site.
Beautiful song, something about this crackly version keep me coming back. Can anybody put together the chords for this? I have a tin ear (which you'd think would help, but no).
This song is on CD and it's called Maybe For Sure on Deborah Harry's (Blondie) Def, Dumb and Blonde album. Much nice and cleaner sound than this. Though this one isn't too bad
