I absolutely adored this session!!!! Thank-you so much, Nick, for your heartfelt offerings! The connection with deers moved me deeply, as they are such beautiful , graceful, gentle creatures. We clearly need more beauty, grace, and gentleness to be spread throughout our world.
Was anybody else over 50 singing "You gotta keep on, keep on, keep on, keep on dancing all through the night" with that twisting deer move?😆(Brady Bunch reference for the younger folks)
Coming from a session of the Chi Dojo and now to this one. Such a wonderful practice. The beauty of Scotland. The kindness and mindful teaching. Thank you, Nick.
I studied Chinese Shaolin martial arts decades ago, and was in the best shape of my life. Since then, I’ve had a couple of injuries and gotten lazy with work. These videos are renewing for me physically and emotionally. They’re really great. Thank you.
That was a wonderful class. Beautiful scenery and cool music. I love the intricacies of this practice. Will be a regular practice! Thanks Nick. You are a masterful teacher!
I found your videos a few months ago and I wanted to stop and comment how much they have impacted me. I am so incredibly grateful that you have put all of these wonderful videos out there in such an accessible way. Your approach with qigong and how you put these routines together is so much more accessible than other videos I have tried. It really accommodates my headspace and the limitations I have with my ability to focus and learn new things quickly. I have spent a decade trying to incorporate qigong into my routine and how I take care of myself and failed spectacularly each time. I kept trying though because it was important to me and is a great somatic movement activity for trauma healing. I am so grateful I found your videos because your approach (and the nature you include in your videos) really seems to have removed the barriers I was struggling with. I have been able to incorporate it into my routines and it finally feels accessible and I feel capable of learning it in little bites through each new video. It has really helped me practice more mindfulness and reduce my stress level. It is helping my mental health and is helping me build a foundation for healing trauma. I am sure that you have spent many years honing your craft and elevating your video making skills as well, so I would really like to acknowledge all that hard work too. Thank you for making a difference in my life and I am sure the lives of many others. It is truly appreciated. I have recommended your videos to several others as well! Thank you. P.S. This was definitely my favorite video so far. This is a great routine. I really love the animal based routines I've tried so far. I look forward to doing more.
Hi Em, thanks for all the great feedback! I’m glad to hear my routines are so easy to make a habit out of :) I do try to include the “spoonful of sugar” with the medicine, in the form of the nature settings. Happy its working! 😄
Just loving the deer medicine! and your footage of Scotland.. the place of my ancestors and relatives.. magnificent!! you really captured the essence of the deer ❤
Really enjoyed this qi gong Nick. Thank you! Just wanted to say though, flying drones in the National Park is restricted if it disturbs wildlife. The shots you have are gorgeous and I'm not sure if you were within the bounds of the National Park or if you had a permit or not but please do be careful with how you use them if you can, drone use is becoming more of an issue in National Parks everywhere due to the impact it has on wildlife.
Just love it. There are no words, really. Magical is right. Oh and cool new logo!! Up and onwards, Shifu! Feeling very thankful for you and your practices this Thanksgiving!🙏☯
I am really enjoying your videos. At 64 it has helped my so much. I am active with my lawn service for 21 years plus my 2 horses and goats. Thank Ya so much.
I'm always intimidated by these 30 minute sessions, but every time I actually did it, I didn't regret it afterwards. Your videos can always easily bring me into a comfortable flow state, so thank you!
Yes, its the 70 yr old knees that complained. But slow and easy, I'll try it again and just do what I can. If a particular move is really not for me, I take an extra minute or two of standing meditation as I wait. Listening to our bodies is certainly part of the practice!
Thank you for this practice. Your cue to push from the feet when doing hip circles felt much more connected. I love the stag movement, the quiet power it generates as well as a nice warmth in the outer leg/hips. Very enjoyable and calming for the mind 💙
Truly, not only a beuaatiful venue but the content is Excellent, as usual. The little extra instructions ( pushing off from the feet and pulling back the arm while turning and looking over the shoulder ) help find small changes that might have been lost or forgotten but are so beneficial to the practice. This form of Deer ( rather than the marauders in my garden ) is welcome and wonderful. Thank you, Nick !
Wow, loved this one, thanks Nick. The scenery was amazing. Just one thing - on the deer meditation posture, my back leg got the shakes big time for no apparent reason, especially on the left side. I'm hoping this was stagnant chi finally making its escape? I've never experienced anything like it. It was beyond my control. (All fine now!).
