Denafrips ARES I vs ARES II 

When I first got the ARES II I am really liking the ARES I more because it is warmer but after sometimes, ARES II is catching up and is now getting warm as well but more refined. Thanks.

ARES II is still in breakin period so at this stage ARES I is what I prefer though ARES II is slowly opening up and getting better. Thanks.

@@asedillo1 It is interesting to note that the slow and sarp filters only work in OS mode. If you set the DAC in NOS mode, then choose the Slow or sharp filter, probably the DAC returns to OS mode on its own. To check. Hi thanks for watching. I have HD650 and HD800 and both works well with my ARES I and II using Luxman, Marantz or Burson Audio. I think it will be ok with your setup as well.

Do you have any other ideas for DACs in the same price range+ ?

Hi, thanks for watching. I just got my ARES II last night and still breaking in but out of the box I can say it sounds good specially the balanced output. Soundwise they are almost the same but I;m sure ARES II will shine more after some time. I would highly recommend going to ARESII considering it is now upgradable as I understand it. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for watching. It was actually playing the DSD file from ARES 2. Apparently, my setting in Foobar is not in correct order. I should put the DSDIFF Decoder first before the foo_input sacd. After doing that, it sounds great already. So definitely not an issue from ARES but Foobar.

Dante Rivera great, so it was mainly a break-in issue, right? Gosh, I never experience on to this extent... Do you still prefer it over Topping’s gears now that it’fully broken in?

So I’ve done some comparison between rca vs xlr and in my system the rca is smother and more natural vs the xlr outputs . Wondering if the ares uses different circuitry for xlr and rca
