I think what Dennis is trying to say is that he doesn't think it's his place to comment on the Kenneth Bae, he's an overpaid basketball player who just happens to be the friend/curiosity for the great leader, and not a political superhero fighting injustice in N.Korea. That said, his accomplishments are being undermined as he believes his informal interactions with the leader is opening up better relationships with the N.Korean government and the outside world, by example, which could later lead to positive change.
