Hell yea.... Cook your hard in the lobby microwave and sell out 50 ft. Later in the parking lot! Make $10,000.00 in one night all for $35.00 a night at the ol' Royal Inn!
You don't have to pray or be blessed or do anything like that, but just make choices in life, it don't even matter. If you live where they live right now in that condition, you can bounce out in 3. Years because I'm proof of that, I've done it 3 times because I'm a fool and I will get to the top above everybody and totally screw up and get raped to jail and lose it all, and then have a fire and a flood and life is crazy, and you have to be willing to accept the bottom like this and maybe force yourself. To live like that to understand it's the same.
When I can get past the grime? And what got me past, the dirty or decay or a rust of life is when I had to be a man and get a job and be responsible. And I always want to be the best and be a hero and that put me in the position of senior skilled tradesmen Renaissance. I have completed a printer ship to all 5 major trades. Which is insane and I'm a rapper and I can do variable styles of many media types. I do things and run circles around the average. Joe and even the pro joe, who only focuses on one flow. But what i'm saying... Is that I have to work on machines? And my life is in danger and most times I'm all by myself. And nobody has an Eye on me. And it's all on my choices that I die or live to the next day. And it's way bigger than worrying about some person. Trying to rob me for my $100000 car.
+Kasinova It's really not like that. Send a white dude in a black hood and if he minds his own business he's still gonna get jumped, robbed and possibly killed. Charlie gets away with it because he is black.
Tawnee Stone, You ain't from the hood so you don't know at all. Even black people get jumped in their own hood... It's not about the color or the race It's actually about the respect, minding your own business and being alerted at all times. You'll get jumped in the hood even if you're the same color as them
Tawnee Stone This is a big lie !! I am a 53 year old white woman from west Virginia I had my husband stop right I the middle of the road in Baltimore Maryland last year, we had to go down there and we were on the back streets it looked kind of rough but I seen about 20 African American men standing and I seen the sign that said barbeque and baked beans I asked an elderly man and be helped me get my food even the younger men spoke to me and let me go in front. I have the old man that helped me $10 he was a nice man as were the younger men who spoke to me. I don't buy into all this bullshit I am to old to get mixed up about races and prejudices !!
I travel worked in a big city with a place that looked just like that. Asked at the desk about prices for extended stay and they were very reasonable so asked if I could look at a room. If the room wasn't crawling with bugs with visible filth on the carpet I would have paid up front for four months at that place. The bullet proof glass at the desk should have been my first clue.
I used to work for Pepsi and filled vending machines at a motel like that. It was always a two man job. One to fill the machines and one to stand by and guard the truck.
There is a party store located across the street, it's the meet up spot to buy. These people aren't just standing around doing nothing, they're waiting for their customers. My dad used to buy from a lot of people who were housed here. Unfortunately, my brother and I were in his backseat. Also, the hotel is being emptied by the city or county. I can't remember which. It was in the news a few weeks back.
Dan Bell did a great video on this motel, Another Dirty Room. Beg bugs, cockroaches, no bed frames, simply a mattress on the floor. And that's just the beginning, you need to see the video for yourself to get a better picture of this nightmare motel.
When Southfield/Oak Park were functional cities 30+ years ago, that used to be a Holiday Inn...And..by the way..you could actually go SHOPPING at Northland Center down the road...
Mark : Thank you for pointing out that fact. Very few people who are obviously residents to the city have noted that fact in their posts . For the rest of you, there have always been what are k own as " Whore Strolls" in the City of Detroit. When I was very young it was 12th street, W. Fort street and a few lesser known places with hotels like this - these were actually in Dtroit. Later, after the 67 riots,Woodward Avenue was a major 'stroll with several hotels like this (a few still exist). The biggest difference I see is the number and ages of the loiterers on display. Plus, the people used to be more discreet about their activities-NOT ANYMORE !! The shrinki g of our city, a lot fewer police working. Many things helped make this situation what it is. But here's the really sad part: areas & aces like this can be found in every major city from Maine to Oregon and from Michigan to Florida.
The Royal Inn doesn't look like a family hotel. It looks like a homeless shelter or a hotel that has some sort of linkage with various programs to house a certain population. Ijs I'm not familiar with this spot so I really don't know.
Charlie if you do not mind try and film the Romig Road area in Akron, Ohio, that is where the Rolling Acres Mall use to be at and I heard that mall was in a really bad part of town. So it should have some good hoods there
I heard there was a dead body found a couple of years ago behind the old mall there. Much of what I have read seems to indictate that it is in a really bad part of town
I grew up in Akron in the early 80's and he's exactly right...we used to call that mall "Strolling Afros" instead of Rolling Acres mall. Akron has become a shithile.
I am sure you have saw the videos of it online of that mall that were filmed. Give Charlie some other tips on bad neighborhoods to film in Akron. I film Dayton, Ohio on my page if you want to have a look
Reminds me of one that a co-worker and I stayed in one time back in the 80's in Chicago. Forgot to get reservations so was stuck in a dump for one night. Hardly slept a wink. Should have found a 24hour bowling alley instead.Would have been quieter.
YOU DIDN'T SHOW US MUCH. ALL U SHOWED WAS THE OUTSIDE OF THE MOTEL AND THE LOBBY TWICE, ONCE IN THE DAYTIME, AND ONCE AT NIGHT. NO ROOM, AND U DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE ROOM PRICES.
The reception desk is behind glass. Nice touch. Just wondering, what is checkout time, about 30 minutes? Oh, and I couldn't make out what credit cards they take, Diner's Club ok?
Mar 21 7? Rocks I'm not going to lie to you. If you live there, your place needs serious help dude. It is absolute shit. And there is nothing wrong about someone's political views. There is something called the first amendment. But you probably don't know what that is.
The bowels of hell is officially closed lol pass this place on my route to work everyday. Fast forward to 2019 currently the Bay No way Inn no way out lol😂.
Mel Far the Superstar car dealer with the red cape flying over South Eastern Michigan back in the day! Right next to that motel. Wyoming and 8 mile... good action always can be found there.
***PERMANENTLY CLOSED & HIGHLY INFESTED🐀🐛🐭🐜🐁🐝, YET THE BUGS WERE VARY POLITE*** I went online to see the prices at this fine establishment for fun & it say PERMANENTLY CLOSED & was highly infested🐀🐛👆🐭🐛🐜🐝, but it had 2 out of 5 stars!!!!
I remember we was up there working at the Gibralta centers in 2003 and 2004 We stayed in a motel in the winter that the heat Didnt work they gave us extra blankets im from the east side of pittsburgh the jungle but I never seen a motel wit no heat in the winter it was like zero degrees in Detroit every day that winter
Stayed here once about 20 years ago opened a dresser drawer had a paper lunch bag in it and so many cockroaches it was incredible then the moron at the desk didn't want to even give me a partial refund until he called police and they practically laughed at him.... I got my money back
anthony belser At the time of this video it was still considered Detroit. this area was rezoned in the past couple of years to be included as Royal Oak Township. which why now in 2018 this hotel is closed down
nothing to see here Hahah yea I can see it , lol he was probably begging to suck it to get out ...I was gonna say "man that place is rough" But change rough to shot and that's more like it.
Eminem only lived in Detroit for a few months, he mostly lived in Warren, Roseville, and other suburban towns near Detroit He never went to school in Detroit.
