I remember waiting for patch 1.10 for at least 2 years. It took them that long to actually release that patch. When I played in 1.09d though, no one used runewords. They were all useless. The only items we used back then were the 6-socketed CCBoQ (Cruel Colossus Blade of Quickness) and the hacked ITH Bows. I don't really remember much else but it was still fun. With those bows all u had to do was fire 1 guided missile and it would penetrate infinitely through the target until he died.
It is a dead game which means hardly ANY users are playing it online. Like Champions of Norrath for example. The game is still kickass, believe me... Good thing Diablo 3 is commin' out; Im going to get that. How bout' you?
Yea i think diablo 3 is going to be a great game, but i dont think any game will have the same hours put into it as diablo2 for me. I probably had 1/2 the hours on socom combined assault for ps2 which was my closest game to reaching close to the hours as d2. I started playing D2 when i was 8 years old so now i dont have that time. D2 wins by default now on hours played because i dont have as much time.
Starcraft 1 and diablo 1/2 ost's are my default music for EVERY GAME I PLAY lol. Goes to show that music with REAL instruments gives a much better atmospherical effect.
The soundtrack of Starcraft is made exclusively with synthesiser and a lot of instruments also are in Diablo. The instruments don't do a music, the writing is.
@vortical911 Has it only been 5 years since 1.10 came out? It feels like it was atleast 7, but no thats only a year after LoD came out, wow it really feels like its been a decade... I too started with 1.09, everything kinda went to hell with synergies. Runewords like Botd or enigma came out in 1.10 too right? Still remember having most fun playing the single player and open battlenet (probably when it was like version 1.07 or something.

@vortical911 Wow it seems so long since I played the game. Heh it all seems like so long ago... morrowind, diablo,deus ex all these games feel like Ive played them 10years ago, yet its not that long.
