I recently upgraded my AWD MA010 to a full drift spec partially based on your videos. Thanks for that! But I wanted to chip in on this left side diff issue. My kyosho front one way also has the same issue on the same side. When I throttle and brake so the front wheels spin freely, the left wheel of the car always stops a bit sooner. not by much, i'll also keep and eye on things and keep you informed. Thanks again!
Darkphizer nice! So the conversion worked, that’s great to know!! I think part of the issue with the front one way is they require a bit to break in & become fully lose. Also, don’t lube your bearings. I thought lubing them up was a good idea, but everyone on the forums said to run the bearings dry since the lube will create more resistance (at this scale) & attract dirt that will slow the bearings even further. Great video! Wish there were more videos like this out there. Subscribing for sure. One thing, those are universal joints or CV (Continuous Velocity) joints and not swing arms. The parts that you slid the pins out of are more like swing arms.
Hey @bmr 3, Ive been watching your videos for a little while. You do great work!! What one way do you use on your MA 020? KYOMDW017 says its for MA 010 and MA 015. Its the only one way i can find so far.

Great Video! I installed a front one-way in my car and I couldn't have done it without you. I just wanted to ask for some advice. I'm pretty sure there is something wrong with my front oneway. I did the same thing you did at 2:32 and all 4 wheels just locked up. It might be dog hair clogging something in the car or there is something wrong with the bearings. Also when I reverse all 4 wheels spin even though in the comment section on one of your other videos you said that only the rear wheels will spin when you reverse. Thanks for the help man :)
Sorry this got marked as spam so i dident see it until just now. Have you lube the front one way? It sounds like it has a major issue if the front wheels are spinning in reverse.... It may even be a lemon or have a damaged internal bearing
@@BMR3 I haven't lubed the front oneway but it seems to be doing what it's supposed to. If I brake while going relatively fast the back spins around and the car does a 180 degree turn. About the be bearings I used the ones from the old differential because bearings didn't come with the front one-way. Thanks for replying 👍
I have the same issue with one on my MA03evo. and its on the left side too. Took apart to clean, bearing all smooth but wheel left wheel does not coast. Wondering how yours turn out eventually?
Sorry to comment on such an Old video. Im running an ma020 essentially stock. I’ve noticed that when I pull the throttle just enough to get the wheels rolling, one of my front wheels does not roll until Im at 50%+ on the throttle. It’s also a bit quicker to stop rolling than the other front wheel when I let go of the throttle. Any idea what the issue may be?
Extremely light weight silicon oil, it’s the stuff used for Airsoft blow back units. In my experience it’s the thinnest/fastest & still provides long lasting protection. I recently tried to switch to the Yeah Racing bearing oil & it’s way thicker & slower.
yes and no. This does happen from time to time depending on the QC from the factory. If you have a controller that has EPA adjustments you can limit the end point on the side that's binding to prevent it from locking up.

I noticed that one of my wheels had some resistance & was spinning much slower then the other side. As long as both of your front wheels roll the same, then you are fine. Basically I just needed to clean the bearings, relube the diff & everything was working fine again
I’m new to mini z but I have an issue where I turned off the mini z and turned the front wheels left and right because I was trying to see how well it can turn each side now when I drive around it doesn’t auto center anymore it stays stuck turned all the way to the left or to the right does anyone know what’s wrong?
Sounds like the servo is sticking. Do you have a controller with EPA? May be able to turn the settings down so the wheels don’t lock. If not you may need to pull it apart and check for obstructions & clean it out. Good luck!
Better control. The front one way acts like a e-brake & a solid rear axle forces both tires to spins at the same rate so you have quicker transitions on a tight track.
Hi bro, I have done the upgrade for "Front one way differential" but when I roll either one of the front wheel forward, the other front wheel did not move. The front wheels can only roll independently. Next, when I roll either one of the front wheel "backwards", all 4 wheels follow moving backwards together. Did I done it correctly? Thanks
In this video my front one way was still brand new & not broken in, so it wasn't spinning 100% freely. The point of the video was to get both wheels spinning at the same rate, not for as long as possible. Were you running stock bearings and was your car a 020s, or a standard 020 chassis? I think the 020s have lower quality components, i will be looking into bearing upgrades down the road.
Yes but I switched to ceramic bearings so it’s not really fair. But my one-way also took a while to break in, just give it some time and your wheels will become more free.

There is no volume in that video so it’s hard to tell, but are you just letting off the gas & letting tires coast, or are you hitting the break as soon as you get off the throttle? You have to immediately hit the breaks to get the rear wheels to lock up & the front wheels will only spin for a moment longer. Is the one way brand new? They require a break in period & it’s a good idea to put some light oil inside the one way to make sure the internal bearing is nice & free.
@@BMR3 Thanks for answering😀In the video I just let go of the throttle but when I brake straight away instead it does the same. I'll put some oil in the little hole where the drivecups go into. What's a break in?
