Couldn't have said it any better myself^^ I personally enjoyed NSR far more, but I did also finish Hi-Fi Rush. My only little complaint about NSR is that it could be a little longer, like maybe 3 more boss fights? Haha I guess I just don't want it to end. Sayu and her song are my favorite from NSR :D
I think hi fi was inspired by the idea of a rhythm game. Only difference is hifis more polished and precise time on beat, nsrs boss throws attacks occasionally off beat. Same parry idea, different style and story. And I love both of them standing out
Cool video, I like it when a game has a great soundtrack. Although I’m more of a classic rock/metal guy, I give other genres a chance. Definitely gonna check out that band for sure. The art style also looks really neat, it’s almost like a comic book style.
Hmm, very very interesting! What's funny is I played this demo awhile back, wasn't really fond of it, and that's probably why I forgot about it, and also why I did not think to connect that game with HI-FI Rush. Another interesting thing is maybe that's why Hi-Fi Rush was released the way it was to make it seem like this is such a "new idea". If it had been released the "normal" way, it would have given people more time to think, "Hey, this is similar to another game". Not to take away from Hi-Fi Rush, of course, but it's just a thought, especially where we live in a time where so many games literally copy each other. I mean, this was a great marketing strategy on their part to get people instantly hyped for it, but still...it makes me think, just by HOW the game was released. On the other hand, Hi-Fi Rush expanded on the music idea with the combos, rhythm and of course the high budget cutscenes. So, perhaps it is not "copying" but rather expanding on these music/beat em up/platforming concepts. I'm not a huge fan of rock, but this was a cool idea from what I have watched.
