Today I do a reaction to a Dom2k video called The Game Lebron James "Quit" & The Celtics "Broke" Him. Head over to their channel and shoot a like and subscribe, he's great! Link is below: • The Game Lebron James ...
He quit in Boston. It was obvious by his body language that he was done… he never perfected his jumper, and never learned how to play in a motion system and moving off ball. Nothing has changed
LeBron in my opinion is what Shaq was(less in skill per position). All athleticism. Never had a strong work ethic where it counts. How the fk don't you develop a midrange shot? Instead of developing a great passing game to help out your teammates you instead hold the ball and let the shot clock run until you clank a brick three or make a late bad pass to your teammates. I don't hate LeBron I just can't stand he squandered his true potential because of sack riders constantly praising him for the bare essentials.
Spot on. He slightly improved his jumper since then, but it's still a robotic and slow jumper. Also, that's the only thing that's improved. Hence why he still avoids clutch time shots or bricks them.
@observeNaturalevolution The Shaq comparison is one I always make. He's mini Shaq. Poor FT shooter for his position. Plays bully ball. Gets by on his size and athleticism combo.
@@NewNormalWorldOrder yup teams literally leave him open to shoot. Don't have to waste too much energy guarding him that way you run away in the 4th quarter
He quit in 2009 also.. Remember "elbowgate". Quit in 2011.. Dude has quit on his team almost every year they didn't win it and was carried/bailed out in 2 or 3 of his chips
@@TheRealMindCrimeSame here. I don't like what LeBron has brought to the NBA. This whole passing era starts and ends with him. The "Player Entitlement/Scapegoat Era".
@@AaR-g8y Jordan went full time baseball player because dad died n it was his dad's dream to watch jordan play baseball. Then comes back n wins three again just for fun. N the context for social media era is not there so who knows what he really meant considering Jordan trash talked everyone so it is doubtful he would give two shites what some scrub on the internet said about him when in game he was trash talking the best players in the league. Not to mention he is one of the most famous sport players of all time bombarded by fans at all times.
LeBron's never learned how to work within an offense that isn't centered around him. He should have set screens, dropped down, posted up and create an actual offensive flow that would've killed.
Michael Jordan always gave you 100% on the court but, Lebron is guaranteed to NEVER give you 100% and take all of the credit when the team bails him out of trouble. Thanks for the reaction
@@Joshwaheazo he quit on his team in the finals against Dallas. Was literally running away from the basketball in crunch time. Caused a terrible turnover on an inbounds play in game 4 when they were up 2-1 that let Dallas tie the series up and eventually win it. All the crying and flipping and traveling and injury faking. He's not top ten dude. I don't care how many years he was the best in the NBA. All of that disqualifies him from legendary top ten status you oblivious clown.
Back when bron first started, he came off as a decent dude who at least respected the history of the game and those that came before. That all changed after he lost to Orlando when I saw what kind of dude he was. He didn't feel like he had to shake Dwight's hand after losing. He said that after losing the series, walking off without dapping up folks. I remember the media evisceration when he did that. Before the LeMedia came around.
I know...and now he does it every year and no one mentions it. He just did it again vs Denver. He walked right off the floor without shaking hands. Even Jamal Murray and Ant hugged and shook hands after Denver got eliminated and those two were talking trash the whole series.
@@TheRealMindCrimeTom Brady did the same thing when he lost big games and they both got away with it because the media slurps them up and the leagues have decided they are bigger than the sport. Yellin at teammates, coaches and referees when they don't get what they want.
@@TheRealMindCrime Then forced Miami to his style rather then adopted Miami style. I recall hearing DWade stating the he/they had to change how he/they balled so that LBJ could be "functional".
That's the problem with fan boys. They don't watch the games and get all their info from Twitter. The Suns were never going to trade Amare to Cleveland. That was a rumor. The fact that LeBron fan boys still repeat that despite being debunked with a quick Google search shows you how stupid LeBron fans are
The series Jordan dropped 63 on the “one of the greatest teams ever” 86 Celtics, the front office was tanking. Jordan was “nope”. I would not want Jordan as a friend. I would not want him staying to 3 in the morning because he lost some card game (an actual story). I would want him on my team. I would say a 6’4.5 (true measurement, at the Olympics) is my goat
All anyone has to do is go back and watch and it's obvious, OF COURSE HE QUIT! He has a long history of quitting! He doesnt just quit in games, he quits on teamates fans, coaches, and cities! The guy is one of the only professionals that I can think of that routinely quits!
It is and he doesn't kno how 2 move without da ball thats very big deal wit him. Talk bout shoot em out game this is perfect example he wasn't ever great shooter.
Sometimes when u r the best player in the game, the “right basketball play” is not the right basketball play. Lebron never has understood this. 2nd time around in Cleveland he started learning to drive against this defense. That and kyrie won that title. It’s why I give that title the most respect.
Agreed. Sometimes the best basketball play is knowing you're the best player in the game and that you need to put the team on your back. Lebron was never willing to do that.
I think he does know this, he just doesn't have the ability to do it. He's failed over and over and now he has clutch ptsd. "the right basketball play" is just cope.
I like how we're gonna blame clevelands stagnant offense. When the reality is thats LEBRONS offense, tailored to him. For someone that they claim as this basketball genius, he only runs his system. Drive and kick to an open shooter, usually a guy open in the corner. Never goes to the block, never takes any mid range or floaters.
He was stroking the Celtics defense as if the reason why they could single bron out and focus on everyone else is because bron couldn’t shoot. Your sole ball handler can’t shoot, and doesn’t move off ball no shi the offense is stagnant and the spacing is horrible with them going under every screen💀
Look. I was a fan of LeBron back then. I liked Shaq, too. I wanted Cleveland to win that. I walked away from that series saying I'd never seen a superstar quit like that. Dom is a LeBron guy. He cherry picked plays and even in those, just offered excuses. Watch the games in their entirety. Particularly Game 5 and the one where he scored 15. I never saw Jordan go down like that. Not once. When did he ever score 15 vs the Pistons? When did he go full passive and avoid shots? You can say LeBron wasn't good enough and his game wasn't versatile enough. That's fine. That's still part of his legacy, though. Just like Jordan losing against the Pistons. Jordan himself played WELL vs the Pistons, though. That's the difference. He didn't look lethargic, shoulders looking like he gave up. Settling for bad shots. Etc. Again, say he wasn't good enough. That's fine. Nobody expected him to beat the Celtics. We expected him to play like his reputation as a superstar. His game just had fatal flaws and the Celtics exposed that. LeBron STILL doesn't have a huge offensive bag, but he did improve his jumper.
LeBron's game is flawed. He doesn't have a reliable jumper like Kobe, Durant or Jordan. And that's why teams can easily defend him if they take away his driving. When teams like Orlando, Boston and San Antonio forced LeBron to shoot jumpers that is when he got exposed. He needs another player like Kyrie, Davis or Wade that can score 20+ppg on their own to cover up for LeBron flawed scoring. Lebron can score, but he's not a true scorer like the names mentioned above. Shaq has a similar issue, however shaq can get opposing big men in foul trouble. Lebron fans blame mo Williams this series, but how good do you expect Williams to be when the best player (LeBron) can't get anything going?
I'm with you on this. I was both a Shaq and Lebron fan back then. The idea of Cleveland finally winning a ring was awesome for me so I wanted them to win it all. I always thought lebrkn didn't have enough help back then. Then he did and he blew it lol. I started realizing he's just not that dude.
Same, and I distinctly remember saying he quit. I wanted him and Shaq to win that series. I wasn't a LeBron hater at all. In fact, that series is what started me on my road to being a "hater". 😂
@John6-40 same! I had no feelings about him either way. There is no shame in losing. If he he would have balled put shooting his ass off, then cool. Go out like a G, but he went out like a simp. Thats when his GOAT case ended for me
Me too! I liked both Wade and Lebron during that time. I wanted Lebron to win and was so pissed at how passive he played. I was used to guys like MJ, kobe, and wade who do whatever it takes.
Yes he quit. Everyone that knows basketball knows he quit. He extended his contract after his rookie year for two years. Everyone in the NBA knew he was leaving Cleveland as Bosh, Melo and Wade all had their contracts ended at the same time. Cavs should have won against Boston
@@TheRealMindCrime yea everyone on ESPN picked the cavs to win. Vegas picked the cavs to win. Boston in 2010 was not a super team and not a big 3. Ray Allen was garbage that year as he was coming off the bench. Garnett was banged up all year and Pierce declined. Rondo was their best player at that point. Cavs had LeBron and the younger players. Cavs had a top defense and the better scoring offense. It's very possible the cave beat LA in the finals as LA was also banged up especially Kobe Bryant Had LeBron played like he did in the regular season, cavs would have won in 6 games
What evidence? The C's look like they clog the paint and had 3 people on him when he drove. I don't like LeBron but I didnt see quit. I saw him not thinking of try a new strategy to attack
Watching it live in real time even as a teen it looked to me(someone who was hyper competitive at that time) that he quit it was in his body language particularly for me
@@stolensentience some time I think people are bit unrealistic with superstar, sometimes they get beat because they simple don't have the better team . There other situation you can point out where yeah LeBron definitely was at fault , but I don't think this is one of them. As well I don't like How LBJ tries rewrite history and always protecting his image. Like how he acts like his faithful his wife when like seriously he one most famous people out there and he never fallen into temptation. I don't know anyone in that lifestyle that doesn't but he want have that image of "family man". However with all his bs I don't think this is one where he quit
He's quit on many occasions. Problem is many key people in the media collecting klutch checks today to hold this guy accountable. Soon as the gravy train stops he'll get all the smoke. There slowly starting to do it now. But you'll see alot more soon.
I agree. I've seen the shift happen starting in the playoffs this year. I think everyone is growing impatient to finally tell the truth about lebron. He should just retire cuz its only gonna get worse for him from here.
Yes!!! Thats it. He actually took a little accountability back then. I liked him back then. A lot actually. Who he became is like a Benjamin Button situation. He's become more childish as he got older.
Even at this time every criticism to date of lebron I had had by then. He was overrated. Weakest conference in nba history. No bag. No shot. Bailed out consistently on drives which inflated his point totals and fg% and minimized his missed fgs. Absolutely *no* off ball game to speak of. Disinterested defender. Good but not amazing playmaker which didn’t come close to making up for any of that. No post game when clearly that would’ve enabled goat status over two decades of polish and nba “support.” As someone who never liked lebron’s attitude I’m glad he never figured that out, because it would have been an actual challenge to prove why lebron *still* wasn’t the goat even if he won not 5 not 6 not 7… Instead I get the pleasure of watching his delusional fan base make excuses for his barely top75 legacy.
Hello, you forgot the easier rules to promote offensive fouls, traveling, carrying, and now soft fouls are “flagrant” fouls. Every time he acts like he was a cartel hostage being shot in the head as he flops is disgusting.
@@stolensentience It really hard cause there is so much video evidence. 2011, 2012, 2015, Game 5 2016 where he taught Draymond how to kick people in the nuts, 2018 Finals, “playoff mode” but misses playoffs in 2019, Game 4, 5, 6 against Phoenix in 2021, Keep the same energy in 2022, Swept while choking shots in 2023, and recently Gentleman’s swept while crying and throwing tantrums in 2024. Truly a role model for athletes and black men. 😂😂😂
LeBron is still a subpar shooter from outside the paint. For such a great talent, LeBron expects things to go his way. Rarely he will them to happen. You are correct on that he also was not hitting shots. Sadly we constantly see people excluding hin when the team loses. He's part of the team. He's part of the wins and losses.
I mean if the Cavs ran a real system that caters to everyone's strength who knows but the LBJ system is easy to defend going up against a good defensive team
Easy to defend when he has no bag. No post game. No middy. Afraid to drive and draw fouls because he can't hit his FT's. Jordan was excellent at ALL of those.
Gotta do more research on the guys your watching bro, Dom 2k is a bronnonite 💯 the algorithm is gwtting to tge point that you could type in "LeBron James is the worst player ever" and it'll bring up videos of Bronnonites slobbing his knob 🙄
Its ok. It kinda worked out. Because I ended up disagreeing with a lot that Dom said. But you're right, just one vid from him and I can tell he likes making excuses for lebron.
21:08 if you haven’t seen it, When We Were Kings. Besides the spectacle of it, Ali changed his game. He started off not dancing (as everyone expected) but threw dangerous-to-him Right Hand Leads. That just got Foreman mad Then, changed again. The Rope-A-Dope. Also dangerous. But it worked. Foreman down. A true Champion.

he quit in 2011, game 4 vs the Mavs~ through the end of the series. he got jealous because Dwayne Wade was a lock to be series mvp. so he started pressing in game 4 and fucked up the heat's offense and defense while being selfish trying to one up wade. but his shot wasn't falling while wade was putting up an all time performance on both ends of the court which was enough to overcome lbj's bullshit. Spolstra was done with LBJ's selfishness so he took the ball out of his hands in the final 10 minutes, after a timeout. you can see it in LBJ's face coming out of the huddle. he was done with the series. and you can see it in his effort. he basically sabotaged the heat the rest of the game intentionally. actively destroying the defensive rotations and offense. in general he gave up like a pouting baby because spolstra was done with his shitshow showboating and wanted to put the mavs away with the heat still up and the game firmly in control. Wade put in a superhuman effort hard carrying the heat to the end, frankly, that might have been the greatest series performance by a guard i've seen from anyone not named MJ. but he couldn't overcome LBJ's intentional tanking and sabotage, and the heat lost game 4. tying up the series LBJ was try again in games 5 and 6 for a short while in the first halfs, but when his shot kept failing to fall, he gave up on both of those games because had the heat won either of them and won the series, Wade would have been mvp. not LBJ, and his ego couldn't handle that. if you listen to wade talk about the 2012 series you'll see he references 2011, in the context of the "need to take a step back and let LBJ be the man", wade knew if LeBron wasn't the man, he would tank the heat again in 2012. so being a team player he stepped back and let lbj take the mvp.
This is what happens when everyone around you tells you how great you are, ALL THE TIME. It makes you conplacent, and it makes you delusional that you are perfect. LeBron was not perfect. His midrange and long range shooting needed work, his post game was non-existent and he was not a player capable of leading. But since everyone from the media and his inner circle always told him how great he was, he never put the work in to improve. And he did quit. Rather than improving his game like how Michael Jordan did when he lost to the Pistons with the Jordan Rules in 1989, he made a spectacle about his exit from Cleveland to go to Miami. He could have improved his own game and inspired his teammates as well and come back with Cleveland for the 2010-11 season but he didn't
A lot of people think LeBron is some kind of basketball super genius, and deserved to jump ship because he "never had help" in his first stint in Cleveland. The problem is, he had help, it's just he failed his team because of his style of play. The LeBron System is a fraud. Everyone thinks he carries his teams because of his "great stats". Didn't develope a great jumpshot outside of his slashing and barreling through the lane for layups and dunks. "Great passing" ability only because he dominates the ball too much and can only do bail out passes. Again, never developed great jumpshots and skill to save the team from clutch moments, that is why Boston checked him. Takes all the credit when they win, blames the coaches, Teammates and the organizations when they lose. Just Look at the Olympics or USA team, didnt win until the got Kobe in there and they saw how Mamba works and copied his work ethic. And media had the audacity to always put LeBron in interviews with Kobe like LeBron has won anything outside of personal accomplishments.
I couldn't agree more with you! MJ had some bad series as well but at least in those situations he attempted different ways to score, LeBron should have done what he is famous to do, get into the paint but back then they called more offensive fouls than today so he could't just booldoze his way to the rim and as you say, yes he was afraid to do so, afraid to miss the layup or being blocked and even with a foul he was afraid to have 2 shots and maybe missing both being a pressure moment for him, this is the biggest reason why he is not even close to Kobe, let alone MJ! Only one thing, this is not a young LeBron, he was in his 6th season in the league by that point and still his mid game was very poor and his ft% was bad (and still is after 21 years!) another player after 6 years would have known what to do, but he was just attempting bad shots after bad shots, "I always make the right play" my azzzz! It’s really fun to me that as Dom2k (which I like btw) said in 2010 LeBron wasn’t good enough, but for Nick Wright in 2016 he became the Goat, so while MJ was on top of everything from his 3rd season (maybe even before that!), LeBron was out in the east semi in 2010, had a terrible final in 2011 and so he was supposedly on the top of his game between 2012 and 2016, four years, four!!!! This is the definition of a regular player who had a 4 year peak while masterminding 2 lineups without which he couldn’t win as he wasn’t as dominant as they say he was, he wasn't half the leader they claim he was!
19:20 wait.. what’s this about… a power forward with a PostUp game? Tell me more about this radical new concept? For his pretty much his entire career in Chicago and in Washington Jordan was the bulls best post up player
Quitting or not the fact is, he was shooting brickfest in game 2, 4, 5, and 6 losses (even though he improved a bit in 6), basically a choke job by lbj, so he was responsible for those losses. Remember that this Cavs was a no.1 seeded team with 61 wins coming off previous season 66 wins! So you cannot say that they're a weak team or they didn't have solid players cuz they did. 2009-2011 playoffs were 3x LBJ's team lost despite being higher seeded with home court advantage and he choked in many of those games. Kobe had similarly choked before vs Detroit 2004 & Dallas 2011. MJ maybe just 1 or 2 games in the 80s but he never went down without fight and he is still the only one who never lost to lower seeded teams! All teams who beat MJ's Bulls back then were all much stronger title contending teams.
LeBron was setting up Miami way before he went there. He dropped 23 (yet it was in his logo) because 23 was retired in Miami. Wade did a fake Free Agent tour where he trashed Chicago (the bad rep we have is for the Pippen contract, and Wade came here later anyway). Just lies all around.
Thanks stolen. I'm human so i may get something wrong from time to time but I'm very honest. I love basketball so I'm always real about it. I hate mainstream media and don't want to be like them at all. No buzz words or pushing false narratives. That stuff annoys the hell out of me.
It wasn't about a solid defensive core against Jordan vs Detroit because they were trying to hurt him .....they wasn't normal physical defense. Scottie and Grant were soft and didn't give him any help until they were toughened up and became confident then they swept Detroit.
Nobody will ever convince me otherwise on this Lebron Raymone James quit that game and that was probably one of the best teams he’s ever had in Cleveland up to that point had 61 wins and you don’t even make the finals
Agreed. We don't make excuses for our suns teams here when we have the best record but fail in the playoffs. The Cavs proved it all season so its lame they make these excuses in playoff time for Lebrons teams.
The Mo Williams point is reaching, I would drop that. However, there is no doubt that he quit and there is no doubt that Michael's road through the Pistons is from another universe. It may as well be an entirely different sport.
Yes! That Part about KG saying they drove him away is facts. They hurt that boi and Wade called up Lebron at the diddy party to team up cuz Kobe was winning too much😂😂😂 Lebrons statline for the deciding games in 2010 Vs Boston; Combined Averages in game 4, 5, and 6 semis vs Boston in 2010; 18/53 fg .339% 2/13 3pt .153 % 26/35 ft .74 19 turnover
Having at least two feet of clear space and not attacking the rim is not just quitting, it shows your lack of skills, therefore lack of confidence in yourself to get the job done!!! I've been saying this for years that Lebron doesn't have any skill to attack the rim and put pressure on the defenders unless it is a free lane! And he even misses a great amount of those easy layups! And this primadona is being compared to Mike who didn't even need an inch of free space but would attack the rim regardless which big guy was camped underneath...ridiculous...also having Shaq ob your team and not being able to bring that to fruition being the "basketball savant"...well, you're not a savant at all, just a ball mover at the perimiter relying on good shooters....
Imagine if LeBron developed a post game and didn't need to hold the ball in his hands all the time? His game hasn't evolved his whole career other than going from a bad jump shooter to an average jump shooter
No doubt. Even had a 2-1 lead that series but dropping just 22pts in game 4 and then 15pts in game 5 looked like a completely different James who was a walking 30ppg piece in reg season.
The series against the Celtics was the sevond time I saw Lebron get gassed in the playoffs. I believe this and the Mavs series is what motivated Lebron to stop trying hard on defense. After this, even though the media loves to push that he could guard so well, you can see how he plays almost strictly off ball defense and chase behinds. He stopped defending 1v1 and worked to not be the main ball defender. He did all this to save energy and to some degree it did work. That and continuing to team up with great players who could bail him out if he lost energy.
I'll always remember watching this game... I felt he had already quit in the first half. It was embarrassing to watch, and then game 6 even though he had a good stat line at the end, I felt like he was already checked out. No zoomer video will convince me otherwise... I was there, I saw it, I remember it. Thanks for another good analysis MindCrime
I guess growing up watching the cavs with world b free, turpin and Hubbard, then the price, daughtery, harper era. It was plain to me that the ledouche era never had any type of pro offense, just dribble the air out of the ball and complain that everyone is standing around. Well no one on the team knows what is going on other than ledouche dribbling all over the place. Im probably the only person that never wanted him back and couldn't care less about the cavs winning one when he did. And it isnt even the fact that he left, it's the way he did it. A pro would have just said from the beginning im done and out, but he decided to screw over the organization, team-mates, the fans and city waiting until the very end of FA knowing not one player would consider coming here without knowing what he was doing. So after that, i just pretty much tunned out basketball just like football after the nfl allowed the browns to move. Will be nice when he just fades away into obscurity...
Oh I don't blame you. He keeps doing it. He left the Cavs in shambles twice, Miami once, and soon to be LA. The problem is that these organizations build teams around Lebron and don't think about how any day now he's going to bail on them and go to another super team. Then they are left with a non functional team for years trying to rebuild.
I like how he’s explaining Bostons game plan, how there slowing down lebron. As if lebron not being able to shoot is the reason why Boston could guard him like that. There’s no spacing because your sole ball handler can’t shoot the ball… so there going under and making you shoot while singling anyone else out… Bron was never an elite ball handler who could finesse his way to the rim. Him not being able to shoot is why “ Boston can send him wherever they went “ or he could idk, play off ball 😂😂?
Lebron was and never would be a good shooter not now not earlier ,hes best stooting was probably his rookie year. I dont know what is it with the NBA coaching but i have the feeling they messed his jumper like 20 times 1 .every time he goes to the FT line he has diferent shot setup either feet position/width spread routine how many dribles he takes how many deep breaths he takes before shooting ,elbow angle /flare release point , folowthrough ,his knees extention ,sometimes he shot flat footed sometimes he shot on toes. 2. On his 3s/Jumper his feet setup is diferent every time even his traveling step back is diferent from where he brings the ball up is diferent everytime and his elbow and wrist and release timing is different also hes shooting with his arms(not involving his legs) that why hes either way short or way long ,he doesnt have a fluid motion shot ,that why hes game its so unpleasant to the viewer 3 IDK why but hes only reliable shot is his patented clumpsy fadeaway where he shot the ball late on the way down , probably is because its the only shot where he consistently hard left-right feet plant and jump and his late release is consistent .
Not even like the Celtics we’re just playing really well against him either, considering the Cavs led 2-1 and his stats were really good in those games. Also had a 2/7 shooting performance in the 4th of game 4 which was a 2 point game going into the fourth.
i call LEzesty ramone shames walkin in2 the tunnel takin off his cavs jersey after Boston ended his cleveland episode 1 'the coward walk off'. this pos absolutely quit on the cavs. his walk off showed the world he was runnin frum the grind. he's been doin this shyt ever since. #neverwillbethegoat 😂😂😂😂
I agreee LeBron quit, But Kobe had a worse quitting scenario in game 7 against the suns in a first round. The entire second half he refused to shoot. Kobe is a better player than LeBron and has way more mental fortitude, but that Game 7 against the suns where he didn't shoot was worse than this LeBron game.
I remember that. Kobe pulled a Wilt and cared too much what the media was saying about him. Kobe messed up big time by going that extreme and not shooting. As a Suns fan I didn't mind but I'll always remember that. Glad he never did that again.
At end of the day I feel like reason bron and wade not close as they were, one wade said countless times if we didn’t have Kobe on our team we wasn’t winning 2008 gold medal. Especially post game interview during that Olympics run wade was looking up Kobe a lot had stars in his eyes like he seen Rihanna walked in the mall or some. Then the second reason- he always will have Mike over lebron no matter how much stats LeBron get !!!…
Yup. I've seen all that too. Lebron is just a jealous insecure dude so if Wade isn't kissing the ground he walks on then Lebron doesn't want him around.
In ALL OF MJs PLAYOFF GAMES, he gave it 1000% on both sides of the court. He played great and kept his shit teams in the games. He was NEVER THE REASON his teams lost in playoffs. It’s WAY different than LeBron quitting, melting down and sobbing during a series. I wish these dimwits would use common sense.
The LeBron system doesn’t beat smart teams just running high screen and roll and everyone stand around isn’t great offense he still plays the same way over 20 players he still doesn’t have A 1 dribble pull jumpshot that killed defensive teams that 🛑 slashers from getting to rim
I don't like this Dom2k guy's reaction. He's basically just saying "oh well he shot so he tried and since no one else was shooting they weren't trying" instead of realizing this is just lack of development being exposed. Relying heavily on your size and athleticism that when they take that option away you have no post game to fall back on. Chucking up shots =/= trying. Anyone on that squad could have done that and had the same result, possibly better. 3/14 and 0/4 is crazy to say he tried. He was terrified to go near the paint because he had no moves and the Celtics could easily trap him and cause a turn over.
Same! Settling for shots you suck at is giving up. Dom had the stance of as long as he is out there shooting then he's not quitting. Imagine Tom Brady not passing once in a superbowl but just calling all run plays. Everyone would call him a chicken lol.
Remember Kobe did take that summer after they lost to the Celtics in 2008, to figure out what he and his team did wrong. He even cut out an article with Paul Pierce for extra motivation. Cam back the next to beat the Celtics for the championship without Shaq and repeated the following year. That same summer he played in the Olympics to help team USA reclaim the gold medal after the past 2 failures of the team.
The real reason the Lakers lost to the celtics is that bynum and Ariza were out injured. Kobe getting that Lakers team to the finals is actually a carried job that the media will never acknowledge. Kobe got to the finals to beat San Antonio with Gasol avg 13ppg. But people swear Gasol carried Kobe. I give Boston credit for winning, but to me that season showed you how great Kobe really was.
@MikeBNumba6 yeah and Pau Gasol was playing soft on the inside. After the summer Olympics when Kobe put his shoulder in Pau Gasol to send him a message about getting tough. Pau came back a different person.
@@stingray7276 yep Pau was hella soft in 08 lakers got their ass whooped ill never forget that series 😂 but they came motivated in 09 you could tell it was a different Pau but they all looked different to me after that L
Thats interesting about the FTs. I agree that he didnt want to take those shots given the pressure (and accountability) for missing wide open shots. I also agree he quit from the perspective of not changing up strategy. The coach has to get an assist on the quit for not forcing him to drive to the basket. I would think they have a better chance with LeBron and Shaq both drawing a lot of early game fouls and getting the team in the bonus and the Celtics in foul trouble. Wouldn't that make it easier for everyone to succeed (unless Boston had really great depth and great D off the bench). Even if they both hit 50% FTs, that's better than 0 points on a bunch of jump shots made in vain.
@@genaroflores939 he could be right though. I'm not an expert, and not sure how deep Celtics bench was, but from a numbers standpoint it seems plausible. Better to try something different than keep going to a dry well.
Its something I noticed from his rookie year. In clutch times he avoids going to the FT line like the plague. He has a low average and a much lower average in clutch time. So when I see him sitting back shooting jumpers I know what he's doing. Man...MJ and Shaq would've made an awesome duo cuz MJ can hit jumpers all day while Shaq clogs the paint. If Lebron was gonna master a jumper thay was the season to do it.
Even though it's a slightly older vid you should react to a vid titled "LeBron's "Trick" has Finally been Revealed." It breaks down some of Lebron's infamous excuses.
Only time Kobe ever messed up I would not call it choking was in 04 vs Pistons n maybe n series vs Suns when he refused to shoot. But that being said as an avid Kobe fan everyone with B Ball knowledge knows dat LBJ is after Kobe n da G.O.A.T. convo
He never choked. But he did mess up for sure. I know he regretted what he did in that suns game. But that was to shut up the critics. Still, bad idea for kobe to do that.
Just a small detail: D Wade is one who started the talks with LeBron and Bosh. There is a clip of him talking about it, spurred by Kobe winning his 5th.
Yeah I've seen that. I only feel different about it because D Wade didn't go ring chasing. The ring chasers came to him because he was the proven champion. He got it done before those guys jumped on the wagon.
@@TheRealMindCrimeTotally agree. Also agree with your point on Dwade in the Dallas series. From around the 3rd quarter of game three through the rest of the series Wade was in attack mode that's why he got so many free throws. Give me prime Dwade over prime Lebron anyday
I'm usually agree with you, but the c were painting the lanes and you kept seeing that on the paint, I don't think driving to the lane was going just make him get those bucket. The Cs had the blue print make him take jumpshot. Could he played better sure but I didn't see him 'quit" now that Dallas series in 4th he look scared to shoot
That's fair. I remember watching this series live back then and I think the biggest frustration for me was thay he had shaq....so how could he not work on a jumper that year? If he could knock down those jumpers and shaq take care of the paint then they would've won but lebron had no jumper. I only say drive the ball because that's only thing he could do well offensively back then. But he settled for his worst percentage shot. I dunno, when the pistons clogged the lanes for MJ and threw him on the ground every time I didn't see MJ settle for 3s. I saw him rise to the challenge.
@@TheRealMindCrime appreciate your vids and I agree with most LBJ criticism in various vids but in this case I got be objective. I didn't see him quit, if you want to say he was under prepared and should have developed his jumper sooner definitely. I imagine like most extremely talented player athleticism sometimes prevents them from developing other aspects of their game since they never needed to before. Also I love to see more Kobe analysis, I loved your mj and Kobe vid. Right before he shot I said the same thing before you his shot look so stiff especially since I was more familiar with Kobe shot once he developed it. Since I started watching laker and Kobe in 2000 playoffs as a kid. However I agree LBJ doesn't have that same drive as Kobe and MJ. Doesn't take accountability as a leader and want rewrite history to blame other. When he JJ Reddick were talking about magic series about jameer nelson pick roll was too much Cleveland with 3pt shooting and couldnt adjust to that. Like really??Yet despite JJ saying he watch that series recently was just lying cause jameer nelson didn't even play in that series. I started realize man LBJ lies a lot
I love these kind of comments Genaro. Thank you very much. I won't always see eye to eye with everyone but I appreciate being able to have a discussion about it like adults. Thank you so much for watching and for bringing in your perspective. I love this community. 🙂
@@TheRealMindCrime no problem, I'm definitely not the most knowledgeable and can have wrong take for sure. That why I love looking at film and hearing other opinions that have a better knowledge. Discovered your vids earlier in the week and big fan of your vids. Unlike most people in this space that want to blindly be bias for their favorite players I try seeing different perspectives and then come to my own conclusions. Personally why I think MJ vs LBJ debate is silly since most people only focus on the stances that favor them and disregard their weaknesses. I don't have a strong for or against opinion on MJ, but I've seen multiple times LBJ not be a good leader and when we talking about GOAT those intangibles are important. Versus like Carmello Anthony no one talk about him at that level so it doesn't matter as much.
@@TheRealMindCrime We also got the Olympics this summer and all we can see is people laughing at Team USA. People never did it when MJ or Kobe was in charge.
