I haven't even finished the video yet, but I wanted to commend you guys on your attitude to nature. As an outdoorsman myself, I absolutely hate when I see garbage in waterways and woods. I always have at least a grocery bag in my kit to clean up where others messed up, and take more with me than I brought. Thank you guys for understanding that to be a true outdoorsman, you have to first be a custodian to nature itself.

Hey Jr. & Sr, I did a google lens on a screen capture of that plant, its called a common cockleburr. It will eventually make the burrs that catch on stuff. The spikes are very sharp for sure. Wouldn't wanna hike through it once they dry out. 😖 After living in Vegas for 35 yrs, most of us old timers are suprised they haven't found more bodies. Mob time (70's-80's) was a heyday of missing people. I'll bet the powers that be won't slow the outflow enough to keep that meager amount of rise. 10 yrs drought would take 10+ years of that kind of rainfall to "refill" Lake Mead. Doesn't seem in the cards, but nice to see for fishermen and animals to help out their lives. Have you guys ever gone out to the park in Boulder City that gets all the big horn sheep in it grazing on the grass? Its usually during the rut. Crazy to watch those big boys run and crack their heads together and hear how loud it is. Maybe check it out during the rut next spring. You guys have a sub for life with me. Your honesty, attention to detail and good hearts 💕 are great to see and hear. BTW, an ig poster showed your infamous standing boat pic and said: "Obviously staged" as the caption. I read him the riot act, told him the Truth of it, how everyone jumped on your discovery for themselves and to give credit where credit was due- Sin City Outdoors on yt!!!! Lol. Lots of others told the dude it wasn't staged and they had seen it on yt. 👍🏻 Stay safe and blessed in all you do. 🙏 Big props from AZ, Valley of The Sun 🌞

Yeah. That has been the rule for decades but, sadly, it only takes a few people to mess things up. In the decades I've been wilderness camping, I've only seen a few people who didn't respect the wilderness. I'd estimate roughly 6% of campers don't respect wilderness enough to pack out their trash (I'm not going to bore you with how I got to that number unless someone really wants it). Sadly, that 6% of campers leave enough trash behind so the 94% of other campers find trash literally every time they enter wilderness areas. It's sad that my son, who grew up wilderness camping with me, can't experience the truly untouched wilderness I saw growing up with my father wilderness camping.

Old wood boat, the green thing at 14:55 is called a "sea cock" which is a valve in the bottom of the boat where the engine can draw in cooling water. Can also be used for other systems in a boat such as A/C intake or even a toilet discharge. Judging by the size of this boat it was probably a runabout or a ski boat with an inboard engine and this was the engine cooling water intake.

That soil will be very good to grow a garden in...lots of nutrients in it. Back in the early 1980's in southern Arizona, I built a raised garden, as the caliche dirt there was hard as cement. Summers here in Arizona always very hot, so if you want a garden, you had to use a lot of old hay to cover your garden to protect against the hot summer wind. I had a dump truck bring me a large load of river dirt for my raised garden...was best garden ever had. So hope you do well there with your garden. Cheers from the USA. Not many of my girlfriends were outdoors with their dad. But it is refreshing to how your fam has a respect for the lake and Thank you for educating some of the viewers. Thank you Sin City Outdoors friends for showing us and such. Water level rises are a good thing, even for the short term. It rained here in eastern Massachusetts heavily the day before too. Flooding happened in places as the ground was dry. Water seemed to have helped with the plants and grass here. In only two days the grass seems greener! I joked with a friend that the grass was actually singing praise because of the rain!

Imagine a funnel that's 5 ft tall and 5 ft wide at the top. Fill it with the water and put it out in the sun. Everyday one bucket evaporates. You barely notice it first. But once it's evaporated down to 3 ft you really start to notice it and it gets faster because one bucket means a lot more to what's left. Once it's down to two feet it's going to take only a couple days to drop one more foot. And when you're down to one foot left, throwing one bucket back in makes a big difference. But you are a long way from refilling that funnel.

The relationship between Sr and Jr is beautiful to see. Your son is very knowledgeable, polite, respectful, and the report between the two of you is just great to watch! My ex lived in Meadview for about 5 years and moved to KY in December 2021. He said he got out just in time! Such a shame about the lake. I flew out to see him a couple of times and we went out on his boat and the lake was beautiful. I hope it gets back to its former state.

I definitely agree about the father and son relationship. My dad just died, and I’m sorry to say that so far, I don’t miss him. He was not part of my life for the last several decades, even though he lived right down the street and I would try everything to get him to do something. I have five siblings, and he would jump and do something with them any time they asked. It’s one of life’s mysteries I’ll probably never know the answer to. But as an Honorably Retired Police Officer in California, your relationship is something we (cops) just don’t see too often. When we do, man I tell ya, it’s like Christmas for us! All we do every day is respond to someone’s worst day of their life, and we get it--we understand. But try doing that every day, 4 days a week, for years on end. We’re only human, and can’t help but get numb to it all. But if I was still working and you happened too live in the City that I worked in, I would absolutely take you and whoever else wanted to go, to lunch. We have 3 “holes in the wall” that serve the best food! One is BBQ hamburgers, tri-tip, and other stuff, with homemade peach cobbler for dessert, another is the best Mexican food--authentic--that I’ve ever had, and the third is Vietnamese Pho and other stuff that I never would have tried if it wasn’t for a coworker bugging me for weeks to come try it. I’m glad I did--great stuff! He even took a Vietnamese language class so that he could speak basic Vietnamese words to order in the proper language! I said wow dude, you’re hardcore! 🤣 Keep having fun guys, and stay safe!

@@andysmith6824 First, thank you for your service as a law enforcement officer. My Daddy was one also after being a Drill Sgt with the 82nd Airborne out of Ft Bragg during the Vietnam Era. He was a cop in Fayetteville, NC. I'm so sorry you didn't have a relationship with your father. My Daddy was the world and all to me, my hero. He died in my arms from Alzhiemers in 2014 and I miss him so much I can't stand it. My Momma died last May from Lewy-Body Dementia and Parkinsons after suffering with it from 2013. I was the only one to take care of them both, no sister, no grandkids, no anyone except me. But that's okay. I can live with myself. My Momma and I never got along my entire life, she always favored my half-sister. But it was me who took care of her, not my half-sister. She did NOTHING for her 😤 Sorry, didn't mean to go off on that tangent! I'm just really sorry you didn't have a relationship with your dad. It was the best relationship I had growing up. That and the relationship with my Papaw on my Momma's side. It's so refreshing to see a good, healthy, respectful relationship between this father and son team. They are awesome together!! 👌 👍😁

Thank you for this update. Since it's a lake created by a dam, do we have info on how much water the dam is releasing down river, or diverting for use? That plus rainfall info must (I think) be the balance that indicates what the water level does. I'm guessing whatever is released needs to be a consistent amount for irrigation, etc. Thanks again

In my area, teens go drinking near the river and once I brought my dog to the shore to have some fun and he cut his paw really badly on a broken beer bottle (requiring a costly visit to the vet). Many just don't understand the consequences of their irresponsible behavior.
