The source of the pain in the pain hole reminds me of Dune where Paul puts his hand in a box that causes pain and it's not explained what causes and that makes the box more otherworldly and terrifying.
You can just use a DVD drive on a PC and rip all of the discs. It's not even piracy because you own the physical copies, but that way you can consolidate it all into a much more convenient package. Shoot, you might be able to burn it all onto one Blu-ray
I always felt like this episode was about Dipper’s aversion to violence, and I’d say he goes from fearing it to wanting it to respecting its impact during this episode. That fit for me because of how he acted in the haunted convenience store before this ep and later when he backs down from hurting Robbie once he sees rumble went to far. He definitely hasn’t conquered all of toxic masculinity, which is why there’s still room for growth after the episode. It’s almost like he fears the supernatural less after this ep, but the natural (Wendy lol) is still scary to him for a long time
Alex says in other commentary tracks that while it’s technically set in 2013 (because it’s when it was released) there’s no real canonical year. It’s whatever year you feel nostalgic for
