RUC 228 - Rabbit explains, "never judge a book by its cover", with a tale about a car thief... www.sellyourclassic.com @MattTheCameraGuy @OctaneAddictsTV
Being a convicted felon, in the great state of SC, and having done some time, I cannot agree with you more. When I first got out, it literally took me a year and a half to get a decent job that just took advantage of the fact that I was on parole. Finished parole and left that company… Fast forward to today, I run a well drilling company that I now own part of. I’m married. I have a son who I’m training to be a well driller… Life is good for me. Anyone can screw up in life… It’s how you handle it after the fact that will define the true character of an individual… Great story!!!
Honestly Rob this had to have been one of the most evocative stories you’ve told on your channel. Something about it got me thinking a lot about life, can’t wait to hear the stories of 22.
If you judge people solely on past mistakes then none of us would come out looking very good. It’s not about whether or not you messed up, it’s whether or not you learn from it. Thanks for the video.
I am a criminal defense attorney, and many clients don't want you to judge them (obviously). I tell some of them that we have all messed up at times but it comes down to two things. First, some are lucky enough to never get caught while others aren't so lucky. Second, did you learn from your F*** up or not? If you did, this is probably a worthwhile situation to be in. If not, here is my card.... I had plenty of run-ins with the law in the younger years, but you live and learn and (hopefully) grow as a person. Never too late.
When Miami Vice was popular, an electric shaver designed to leave a bit of extra stubble came on the market under the name The Miami Device. I can’t believe that it’s the explanation, though.
Absolutely agree my son is a convicted felon . Did his time got out and completely turned his life around and I am so very proud of him ! He is married now and I have a beautiful 2 year old granddaughter that I am completely in love with and she is spoiled by me and her grandmother. Thanks for bringing light to this subject it is proof that people can turn their life's around !
I have known many con men over the years. I once heard one comment on a guy we both knew well. He said with great admiration. He would sell you a radio. And leave you with nothing but the music.
Thanks for sharing, Rob. Great story, as always. Goes to show that we all can use a little forgiveness, as well as a little humility. Be well and keep doing your thing.
Them old guys who been there and done that are some of teh best friends to have. They are gonna make you smile and watch your back. Hope your old friend RIP.
In Nashville Tennessee where I lived 1980's. A Metro unmarked police car sat at 2nd avn and Broadway. Was locked up running a marked car was there trying to get the car unlocked. I watched then went got my plyers, coat hanger and prize tool. Unlocked the car real quick for the detective (other officers were butt heads). Detective said " your in the wrong business" I said No I don't look good in stripes ( prison garb back then).
I worked with a guy repossesing cars in the Gary/ Valparaiso area... Lets just call this guy "Frank". Getting into repo work I never quite felt comfortable just taking a car that was in someone else's driveway. "Frank" always told me act like you're doing nothing wrong and you're golden. He said if you got keys walk up like you own it, "fire and burn tire" as he put it. If not "hook it and book it"...lol. i only stayed at the job a few weeks and got out of that line of work... repossesing cars in Gary can be scary. So I ran into "Frank" years later and I ask him where he's been (hadn't seen him in like 6 years) he tells me he had gotten 5 years in prison for auto theft. How? He then tells me that 90% of the repossesion orders were fake and they printed those to fool any police into thinking it's a repossesion. He'd always go "repossesing" on a Friday night. Being closed for the weekend by the time the owner called the finance company on Monday and figured out it was a sham and the car was stolen the car was long gone. I had watched this guy stand there and wait for the police and casually have a conversation when they show up, show them the fake paperwork, and the cop tells the owner to let him do his job and take the car! Lmao. Guy was criminally genius and had the biggest balls ever. "Frank" passed in 2020 from complications of lung cancer and covid but this story made me think of him. RIP "Frank"
I bought my first "classic" a few weeks ago. An 89 town car signature series with 70k miles for 5500 bucks. Replaced the cooling system and going to mostly daily it until car prices go down
I met some dandy people when i was a detailer . you learn some tricks and ins and outs . we can learn alot from folks you wouldnt think would have much to teach .

Funny i worked in a club in memphis with a girl..knew her husband real well...they had a bunch of kids.. he went to jail for a year..he got out and we were talking in the club. He tells me he got caught after sooo many years. I didnt believe him. He said he was the silverado kid since he was 15. Tells me big story. Years later i research on internet.. he wasnt lying...so funny
Excellent one RABBIT AND THE RUC! We have lost too many and too much the past couple so may this year be better and exceed everyone's desires and expectations! -🤘
only rob pitts can casually mention a child that may or may not have been kidnapped and just move past it like it did not happen without anyone noticing. lol?
Happy 2022 Mr Pitts, been loving your stories since i started watching VinWiki, you are my favorite storyteller. I am trying to convince my dad to get one of those Ford Mavericks, but if he doesn't get one, I am gonna get one. Stay safe and healthy brother.

If it makes you feel any better, nobody calls me douchebag Matt, but the shop I work at has douchebag Rob#1 AND douchebag Rob #2 🤣 ones a lazy-ass maintenance guy and the other is a, "special" wannabe machinist....(by special I mean he's a rare kind of super-douche).
@@TheMattc999 the rob I knew when I worked at Kroger was really rude, and then one day he came back with the bandages on his nose from a nose job. His doucheness never bothered me after that. If I can accept my Hebrew shnoz, that's just sad lmao. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
@@paulcarmi8130 sometimes it seems as if God in his infinite sense of humor has placed certain people on this Earth solely to make us feel better about ourselves 🤣
I almost caught a felony "aggravated assault" they called it but the fight started on camera and went out of view so they only saw a small portion and no victim ever came forward. It was mutual combat, dude started a fight and got trashed, I rag dolled dude and people called 911 but dude took the L and left. So they had 2 911 calls but no victim ever came forward thank God.. so they just dismissed It..
We are all guilty of one thing, sin. I’m so thankful that, in the eyes of the Lord, we’re on a level playing field. He only sees us in one of two ways, you’re either saved or you’re lost. If you’re saved, the past doesn’t exist, forgotten eternally!
Rob. I'm Trying to buy a vortec 5.3 and I've seen allot of " lower miles" engines on ebay. Is it safe to buy an engine they're?? Are they telling the truth on the milage ect.. Thanks
Curious if you’ve ever met Steve Strickland that was in Charlotte with Hendrix selling BMWs. You remind me a lot of him. He’s in Charleston now selling Lexus’s Edit: y’all seriously look alike 😂 you sure we ain’t related??
