Ye I bought the analog version too because I don’t have dji. I got the v2 version too buy mines still in the mail. Also notice with the analog he maintaine 9 sats whereas the dji only got 6 prob due to electrical noise but it’s pretty importsnt

Great question. I have been testing DJI 5.8ghz radio control link with DJI remote alone and yes, you can get good mid-range reception of up to about 1 mile, however the link is much more susceptible to interference compared to a 915mhz control link like R9 or CRSF or even newer 2.4ghz links like IRC Ghost. With GPS rescue properly setup I have no reservations about flying mid-range, knowing that a fail safe is possible which will activate RTH. All that being said the current DJI FPV remote is over priced at $299. A new DJI remote is coming soon which will likely have 2.4ghz control with better range in a gamepad style for factor. If you are new to FPV then yes, I can recommend the DJI remote for ease of use, great battery life, seamless integration, with some reduced range compared to OpenTX 2.4ghz and 915mhz options.

The TrueRC X-Air 5.8 LHCP Patch system for DJI is measured at 10 dBic and the ImmersionRC SpiroNet LZR RHCP Patch 5.8 system for FatShark is measured at 13 dBic. So these are two of the highest gain antennas available respectively.

All test flights have been on the stock 1404 2750kv motors. Other motor and frame setups will be tested on the channel soon!

FatShark HDO2 goggles with RapidFire + ImmersionRC SpiroNet LZR Dual 13db patch antenna system is better than TBS Fusion analog adapter with DJI goggles.

I would not. If you want to purchase the analog 5.8ghz Explorer LR I would suggest you purchase the base runcam nano2 analog Explorer LR model and delay your HD cam addition decision until you receive your drone and have browsed other HD cam options which are available when you are ready (naked GoPro, Insta360 GO, or yes a split style HD cam). You can always easily buy and add a Caddx Tarsier 4k cam later if you decide. Just my $0.02

Flywoo has addressed most of the issues in their newest v2 F7 edition of the Explorer LR. But other issues have been found including incorrect/mismatched antenna polarization and they dropped the Tarsier 4K model from the Explorer line altogether. Still a good quad for the price.

I’m still a freshie! Bout three summer months last year three spring and indoor over winter. This will be my first summer full on fpv. So pumped just kinda trying to learn as much as possible from dudes like urself before making purchases. Kinda burned a bunch of money last year learning what not to buy. Hi Alex. Short answer is yes, all of these 4 inch micro long range models suffer from thin light frames with relatively low power motors which cause them to shake with winds above about 15-20 mph. I have found some frame designs which use a single solid base plate like the iFlight Chimera4 and Airblade Transformer Mini show less shaking but are still pushed around by moderate wind. Flywoo Explorer LR also includes optional arm braces which help marginally. Stabilized gopro or insta360 footage usually handles the shakes well enough.

Yes, the rear of the frame has standard 20x20 mount for Caddx Vista/Nebula or analog vtx. I think you have a good plan!

Hi Andrei. Welcome to FPV! Flywoo Explorer LR is a great drone to start with. Unfortunately, none of the receivers offered in a BNF from Flywoo are compatible with your FlySky FS-i6 radio remote. You have two options. You could buy a XM+ version of the Flywoo Explorer and desolder the FrSky XM+ receiver and replace with a FlySky receiver like the FS-X8B then change Betaflight settings to iBus. Or you can purchase a different radio remote like the Radiomaster T16S, FrSky X9 Lite, or TBS Tango 2 which are compatible with Explorer BNF versions. If you are wanting to fly longer range (over 2km) the I would strongly suggest replacing your radio remote to a newer FrSky, Radiomaster/Jumper multi-protocol model, or TBS Tango 2 radio.

Yes for the dji cam and unfortunately no on the full air unit. Few 4inch frames accommodate the full dji air unit module. CycloneFPV had the Quattro HD with the air unit module in the rear on its side with the memory card slot facing up.

Apologies, if you are asking about the TrueRC X2Air directional patch antennas on the DJI goggles, then yes I have found these DJI goggles antennas to be the best for maintaining mbps DJI transmission.

Same, Flywoo is doing such bad job with the shipping, something is going on there.

You need to update Betaflight firmware to 4.2 and enable expert mode then go to Failsafe tab.

Caddx Vista unit displays some OSD elements including home direction pointer when you enable Custom OSD option on DJI goggles but not all of the available elements in an OSD like you get with Betaflight. Home point direction element does not show on DJI goggles OSD until GPS has acquired minimum satellites.

or UART2 if not using DJI tx sbus protocol but lose vtx smart audio control

@@m2kfpv449 UART 1 is taken with the crossfire wires. UART two is taken with the GPS. So the vista is using a softserial. But I've no idea where it's wires go?

Explorer LR uses Caddx Vista system, which has no on-board dvr capabilities, and not the DJI FPV Air unit which does. All video recording is directly from DJI goggles on this unit.

I think its because of weight purposes. Isn't this the smallest and lightest camera go pro make?

@@melvinfinner4606 but the quality is as same as the digital fpv cam, why people put an extra camera to record the same quality of video that the stock already can do?

@@Vincious Yea well in that case you got a good point. Maybe they just want footage from another point of view or something idk 🤷‍♂️....Lol.... I'm new to the fpv world and fairly new to drones period (4mths) but I learned a lot in the last 2 weeks since I've gotten interested in the fpv stuff. I have a zino pro camera drone and now a tinyhawk 2 freestyle that I'm learning fpv with. I'm really interested in this flywoo explorer next. But I got a long way to go learning wise I think.

MELVIN FINNER I’m new to fpv too, just got my dji controller and goggles last week at now on simulator for 4 days, getting good progression now. Few hours ago just placed order on this flywoo explorer. Me too this two weeks learned a lot about fpv, but as a full time youtuber for already few years, I know cameras, insta360 go really sucks, the worst 1080p I’ve ever see.

@@Vincious Thats cool What! I thought about doing the simulator but Ilk have to buy a controller just for that. Because i want the DJI setup as well when I buy the explorer drone next and im not ready to buy that right now. What cameras are small enough to fit on there and have great quality?
