This is something that I had planned on doing for quite some time.
I always wanted to make some sort of tutorial video just so I could help other people out. Hopefully this did it. I also plan on using Dante as will in another tutorial. If any of my info is wrong, you may tell me. However, don't be a complete dick about it. We are all humans. We make mistakes.
Here's a more in depth tutorial about JCing with Nero.

@@Twkout That's because they learned from DMC3 how broken that ability was. Jump canceling the Hammer or Helm Breaker deals an incredible amount of damage and I think it doesn't have the repeating the same move more than 3 times affecting your style meter problem. If anything I think JC helps you raise your style meter faster.

First I felt the same, but then I changed my mind. The problem is with the game sometimes, not necessarily with the player, especially if the player can beat Ninja Gaiden in UN mode, but struggles in DMC games. I know a NG pro that just sucks at dmc and I don't blame him one bit. DmC controls are counter intuitive. They feel almost dyslexic to me.

I know I'm 9 years late, but I've come back to this game after playing DMC5. What's your controller mapping for each character? Because it's very difficult to do all this with default, especially Nero since I hold range button to charge shoot. Maybe Dante and Vergil are easier on default.

it's funny for YEARS I always ppurchased enemy step last cuz i thought it was useless...... and i've beaten the game on dante must die a few times..... and at one point pretty easily........ however, I never utilized techniques like this.... My techniques are old fashion combo's and dodging.

You'll need to have the PC version of DMC4 and use an anti trainer or the debug menu for it.

Shuffle has always been my favorite attack with Nero. I never thought about using the backdash for Table Hopper and to vary my combos. Looks like I'm gonna have more fun with it now >:D

Man, I just started playing DMC4 a few days ago and I've only had reached SSS twice, it's frustrating! I used to kick ass in DMC3, I mean that both are DMC games right? It shouldn't be to different...

@@SlayerSeraph they really can't compete. The people who don't jump cancel and combo enemies are most likely just bad at the game and need practice. Sure you don't NEED JC and combos to beat dmc4, but people do it bc it looks cool and gives them more control and freedom over their characters. Try watching at least one dmc4 combo mad video and try telling anyone in the dmc community if jump cancels and combos are on the same level of style as just mashing

DMC3 was a long time ago. I was pretty good at it but DMC4 feels like the lock-on isn't as precise as I need it to be... or I was spoiled by DMC:DMC with its more fluid lock-on system.

Be fast with the jc and hit high up. And even if the enemy flies away. You can allways follow up with a single shot into caliber to keep it going. At least in most cases.

one thing that bothers me even tho you keep the exceed level 3 the whole time his basic attack don't always have the empower speed i don't know about damage. i don't think that normal or meant to be coded this way

Hey man great videos!! I first got DMC4 (as my first DMC game) awhile back and wondered how the hell people could combo for so long. Thanks a lot for really taking it slow, I had no idea it was even possible to do that kind of stuff. It made me value my DMC collection even more!!! Practicing my ass off right now!!

And to be fair, You move Nero faster then I thought possible and you make it seem easy...I feel like a failure DX lol I can always get Ex-act down easy but when I get max out its more of a "ok cool...wish I knew how I did that..." It had the potential to be great. But all the boss fights are HORRIBLE, the cutscenes are too frequent, the platforming sections are boring and are also too frequent, it lacks any gameplay mechanics that require practice or skill, EVERYTHING is imbalanced, the style ranking is broken, there's no taunt, all the characters are unlikable and the writing is just terrible. If it wasn't called DmC I still wouldn't like it, but I certainly wouldn't care as much. It's a stain on the franchise.

Seeing in a video wouldn't help that much. You're much better off just trying each attack repeatedly until you get the timing down yourself. I know, that sounds like a cop-out answer, but figuring out the timing isn't too hard if you're willing to put in a bit of time, and once you get 1 or 2 down, the rest will be much easier.

last time after i watch this video i've tried it in xbox360 but you know what i always ended doing the calibur the worst part is my damn thumb hurts and the really worst part is i always executed the jump cancel combo by accident it is really easy when you watch it but hard to execute damn it "all hail the awesome power of the jump cancel" halla..............

degal13 just play until every things unlocked, it doesnt take long to get everything in SE. You can't do much of anything fun without buying all of the moves first.

Ricky Johnson I am playing the SE currently, having played the original years ago I noticed how much easier it is to get everything on the SE, it took me the whole game through a few of the difficulties to get everything before, now about ten missions at very hard difficulty was enough. To be honest that’s a nice change for experienced players, the game is simply not as nice until everything unlocked

This damn jump cancel will NOT work!!! And i can do it just fine in DMC5... I played dmc5 and loved it so i decided to go back and play this one too... Except i cant do HALF the shit i can do in 5 so i feel like a stick in the mud tryna do these damn combos and i honestly can NOT get this jump cancel to work even ONE time smh

Thats cause you have to pay attention to what your attacks are doing in 4. In 5 everything is on training wheels. E.g. 3rd Hit of Aerial Rave (4: Hits Enemy to the ground, 5: Hits it away). This affects your combo chains. In both DMC4&5 if you shoot a ChargeShot1 the explosion will pop the enemy into the air from the ground. That will reset you and your enemy's position. Also how enemies react to being hit both on ground and in the air in 5 is much more simple because every enemy except a few react the same. DMC4 is all about Combo Links in a physics sandbox, whereas 5 is more akin to just floating in the air when doing attacks (especially with JC). Try and do some basic combo fundamentals. 1 you can do is (Next to enemy) High Roller -> Aerial Rave x3 [Charge CS1 on 2nd Hit] -> JC (after the 3rd Hit, JC above without tilting/jumping a different direction) -> Split -> JC -> CS1. This will create a scenario in which Nero (you) are on the ground and the enemy is above you. Using this set up you can try to find more setups that can link with Nero on the ground and the scarecrow in the air.

So "Jump Cancel" is basically just Enemy Step and viceversa. Bruh I'm guessing they named and hid the ability by referring to it as enemy step because of how broken it is

Damn nigga your too good and no matter how hard I try playing as him and dante not hard at all to play as cause its the same thing from DMC3. I can never pull it off and I remember spending hours on each boss on DMD mode. Each time I try to do ether one weather its combos or just try not getting hit for the SSS Rank I always get hit at least one of there attack
