Looking at slow motion and trying to mimic what you see will not work with your driver. Your feelings will teepll you that you did it right but the result will be wrong.
Let me help you get an effortless golfswing with speed and accuracy. A good release will help you to a better impact and longer drives and irons without slice and hook
Long and straight is every ones goal but it takes time. Try to focus on one thing not everything when you practise. Impact, face control and swingpath will always be the most important part to drill. We focus too much on rotation but no good golf shot will be executed just by rotating.
I’m naturally right handed but all my tips works for both left handed and right handed golfers.
We also need to understand that many myths in golf are misleading. We shall not keep our head still, only start with the hips, look only at the ball or keep the left or right arm straight.
If you use callaway, ping, titleist or taylor made clubs doesn’t matter you can learn to hit good golf shots. Your loft or your shaft on the club will not change but you can get better.
Find what inspires you. The pga tour, longdrivers or other good golfers can all help you find better golf shots. Watch what they do instead of listed to what they say. Listen mostly to your body and figure out what you need to do to produce the same results as the pros on TV.
Mike Malaska, Mike Austin, Mike Dunaway and Steve Pratt are some of my favorite golf instructors online. Find the tips that make your golf better. Decide what you want to hit. I teach a draw but many like a fade and nobody likes a hook or slice.
Your hips or your lag is not the key to golf. Your hands will decide the shot and you can do like Tiger Woods and trust your hands. Teach your hands to hit different shots. Hit big hooks and slices to understand what happens. Only straight is not gonna teach you anything.
Bryson Dechambeu and Kyle Birkshire can inspire you to hit it longer. Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson can give you inspiration and motivation to test new things and new golf shots. Linn Grant, Viktor Hovland and Ludvig Aberg can show you the future of golf.
The Masters, Players Championship, The Players, The Open and US Open can make you love golf even more. See the best in the world solve all the problems we all need to master any golf course. Golf is a craft and you need fantasy, feel and skills to master it..

Thank you Marcus. Your lessons have changed my game. Been following you for a while now and got serious about following your prescriptions. I'm about a 13 handicap and for the first time yesterday on my 9 hole round, I shot even par. Never happened before in the 15 years I've been playing. Your tip on slow lead hand (left for me) and fast trail hand has taken the right side out of play. Your release tips have resulted in my clubs being at least one length longer in distance. I now out drive all of my buds and have even done it with my 3 wood. The most important thing to me is the reduction of mind clutter. I no longer think about my body except to relax. I don't think about hips, knees, etc. yet I finish facing the target. Those thoughts were killing me day in and out. Yep, not even you can fix stupid (and lazy). Thanks for sharing your expertise. Changed my life, certainly my mental health.

I can’t speak on stupid people Marcus 😄.. but I love the draw shot. Hate the slice, cut slice, or whatever the cut players want to call it. I just really enjoy seeing the ball go right to left - I’m a right handed player. And the ball goes further also. In 20+ yrs playing this game I have been in search of how to draw the ball as effortlessly and repeatable as possible. I unfortunately have been misled w in person instruction, online instruction, and watching other RU-vid videos before FINALLY finding you. Since I been fallowing you I have been able to draw the ball more consistent than I ever have. At 53 yrs old and in good shape overall, I don’t have pain in my back and fingers like before having found your instruction. You are a blessing. I will continue to follow your instruction to the end. Thank you 🙏🏼 👊🏻

This bucks conventional teaching, but it works. Thank you for this and keep preaching Brother!! Your methods work. I cannot stop hitting draws or straight balls now! I don't know how to slice! Lol! It has been two weeks of watching your videos and I am still working on consistency especially on my drives, but when I hit them, they fly 30 yards further than I have ever hit them. I agree....slow motion trains you to overthink. It's a feel and practice....bottom line! Thank you.

This message was AWESOME. My brain somewhere-somehow already knew this … BUT it’s the kinda thing where, in the moment, you are not aware or you forget about it. So it’s so refreshing to hear it from a knowledgeable pro who knows how to teach. But this message is not only feedback for those who wanted to see slow motion. It’s also more than good while just practicing. It just underscores and highlights the expression that what you feel is not real. Usually tho, when you hear that expression it kind of has a negative connotation to it. Your message today says it’s more than ok to understand this. Golf is fun. Golf is interesting. Golf is hard.

I can say you are the most amazing and talented golf guru. The fast and slow hands tips and the release way earlier has got me hooked because sometimes I want more distance off the tee and my chest is facing more to to right and felt I already have my back moving to the target at setups . It is very strange at the setup and my release is 2-3 feet beforehand and my left wrist felt like stopping at impact and my right wrist is pressing the shaft to the target. I have never read any books or videos about this way of playing but until now you out there is saying it works . I mean you really the greatest player out there.

As always.... wold class instruction. My instructor teaches very much like you do, ... he is always telling me to swing my arms faster. He is 73yrs old and wins many of the super senior, S Calif PGA tounaments and hits the ball longer than most younger PGA's . Your swing looks very similar to his. My problem.... I have hard time swinging my arms faster without my body "automatically" jumping in. As you can imagine, the results are very poor when that happens. I wish I could just swing my arms faster. I feel like I am swinging them as fast as I can. However, when I see a video of my swing, it looks like a nice swing, but way too slooowwwwwwwww.... ugh. Can't seem to figure out how to swing just my arms faster.

After pondering it for 5secs there are no truer words spoken, and no truer actions more responsible for bad golf instruction and bad execution of the golf swing; then, trying to imitate slow motion positions of the golf swing by other golfers. I mean, the intentions are perfectly noble, but it is probably 80% of the reason why nobody can hit a golf ball with any consistency since its almost an impossibility, and the 9sec 100 dash is a perfect analogy for why it is beyond stupid to saturate the brain with slo mo. Hee hee...thanks Marcus..you make the puzzle only 5 pieces instead of 5000. Which is nice....!!

I’ve tried your methods, especially the drill where you face chest to the target. I’ve added about 1.5 clubs in distance and had more accurate shots without even thinking about the target. Thanks. One question, this idea of swinging out at as much as 45 degrees seems very related to the speed of the rotation. Is that so? What I mean is the faster you rotate it seems the more outward you need to swing.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 6 месяцев назад
Great job. You are correct about the outward thinking. We need to balance the relationship between rotation speed and what we do with our arms. 👍

@@GolfwithMarcusEdblad Hi Marcus, this morning I did some tests, the fact of having my right hand more active allowed me to hit some light draws with the irons, with the driver it was a bit of a disaster, I went from fade to draw without a true control of the shot, on the other hand the short game benefited from the manipulation of the right hand, nine holes +4 on par. So I think I will continue to look for a greater active participation of the right hand in the swing with the hope of lengthening my shots, at the moment my PW (46 degrees) has a carry of 100mt... your 150mt remains a chimera for me.😅

It's a golf cliché, because it's true: feel's not (necessarily) real. I mean, if you know you're late and feel late , you're probably late. But making changes is hard and feel's not real.

Marcus, I have tried and tried to release early and all I end up doing is bouncing the club off the ground and clipping the ball off the heel with the driver as I finish the swing . . . it either goes sky high or bullets low to the left! 🤷🏻‍♀️
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 месяцев назад
Sorry to say that the club is not going up and the release is still late. A sky ball hit on top of the face is mostly a club going down and the cause is the late release. Try to exaggerate the early extension down with your trail arm to reach the low point before the ball. Watch this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YQicyxSJjTA.htmlsi=-rH9-EOatG-Cb-4m

with the driver.... do you feel like you keep your weight on your back (trail ) leg thru the shot vs moving on your front leg as with irons/fws?
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 месяцев назад
If I hit up with the palm of my trail hand I don't need to think about it, I automatically stay more back doing that. If you hit the palm on your on the underside of any table you will feel the same motion. Ok?
@chekyerego
@chekyerego 10 месяцев назад
Why is it in pictures of impact the better golfers look like they save lag until the hit while the worst golfers look like they throw away the lag and hit with no power.
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad
@GolfwithMarcusEdblad 10 месяцев назад
What I mostly see is that the golfer needs to stop everything a bit before impact to get the club to catch up. Reason is that the rotation got a head start and needs to stop long before the ball to correct the bad timing between body and arms.

I wish I had never heard of the term LAG. How do you get it? How do you keep it? What a load of crap. The question is, how do you release it? And THAT is what Marcus’ explanations have made the most sense to me. The release is the moment when the trail hand passes the lead hand. And if you made a backswing you are going to make a downswing coordinating two components; arm swing and wrist hinge / unhinge. But it is a fluid, dynamic motion rather than a positional one, I.e.(p1, p2, etc.). You can call it an “arm swing” if you want. But if you watch Marcus swing, his body position is enhancing his arm and hand speed (linear acceleration), which allows maximum hand and wrist action (angular acceleration). Think Ernie Els and Vijay Sing. It’s what Julius Boros called “swing easy and hit hard.”
