None of the gospels are the same. How can stories that are supposed to be the truth be so very different? Were they so lazy they couldn't even bother to copy the same story?

Wow!! I never expected this! I have been curious about other Amish communities different from where I grew up in. I'd love to know of a community that actually does study the Bible together and believes in salvation through Faith. Thank you for reaching out. But I am curious: Did you say you are still old order Amish? While believing Biblical truth?

Yep. Everyone has their own interpretation and everyone thinks theirs is correct. Only God truly knows.

Even though I was not a member, I am still, what they would call shunned, I lost all my family because of Jesus. But He is worth! I do not regret.

@@AmishToChristian I understand your frustration. I was raised an evangelical and likewise, the Divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ was not rightly explained. It is good that you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is "God" and not just a "god" as the Jehovah's witnesses say He is for the Father called the Son "God" as He is "Begotten not made" as the Orthodox and Catholics and Protestants affirm in reciting the Nicean Creed. The Jehovah's witnesses are Arian and rightly condemned as outside true orthodox Christian doctrine in this regard. The problem however with what you are saying in "Jesus is God" is that you are confusing the the shared substance ot the three Divine persons with the personal title "GOD" which in the absolute sense refers only to the Father who is alone Unbegotten. I encourage you to interpret the phrase "and the Word was God" not as an affirmation that He that was with GOD is part of a manifold deity, but "the only Begotten God" who was with "the Only true GOD" (the Father). For though His substance is received by the Son from the Father alone, He is not His own first cause as if "self existent" or "Ase". It is entirely orthodox to say the Son was generated by the Father and that without Father the Son and Spirit would not exist, but the Father would still exist if the Son was not Begotten and the Spirit would not exist without the Father from whom He was "granted that the Son should have life in Himself". For as Seth was Begotten so to the Son was Begotten before all ages by the Father, and the Spirit proceeds from the Substance of the Father alone (Eastern Orthodoxy) through the Instrumentality of the Son (Roman Catholic and Reformed protestant). Nicea is not an inspired council though it does provide some clarity, but muddles the true teaching of the apostles in the Apostalic Constitutions. For the Spirit is also one of only Three persons who are the GOD-kind. But as Origen who affirmed the trinity said in his explanation, "the Son is older than He" (the Holy Spirit) the "Athanasian creed" is a western invention and the Eastern Orthodox reject it as a false creed. For there are three Divine Spirits Father Son and Holy Spirit. One Unbegotten by another of His kind as Adam was unbegotten by another of his kind. Seth is the image of Adam, Begotten by the Unbegotten father of all humanity WITHOUT A HELPER, THE COMFORTER, and the Spirit proceeds from the Substance of the Father alone as Eve proceeded from Adam alone through the Instrumentality of the Son. Irenaeus of Lyon says the platonic gnostic emanations of Valentinius who was an early proponent of falsehoods from Simon the sorcerer mentioned in Acts was in error and thus the nicean Anathema on the early church is evil.

I wish that was the case, but the Amish would never allow non-Amish to speak to them about Biblical things because they are taught if anyone else tries to tell them differently than what the Amish believe than they're going to be decieved and go to hell. It's very sad.

​@candma4240 I believe that one of the best ways to be a light to the Amish community is to be kind to them. You see, most Amish have a negative mindset on anyone who is not Amish, (even though they won't admit it) and when I was growing up I definitely noticed when people were kind and loving and it made me wonder. It helped to realize that just because we were Amish doesn't mean that we are so different and so much better than others. Also it helped me with my relationship with my family (to be kind to them) when they were trying so hard to keep me in the Amish.

Jesus is not God almighty. It was the Almighty who caused Mary to conceive a child. It was the Almighty who gave Jesus the throne of his father David.

From my understanding, their traditions are the focus, not so much the Bible. They basically read the Bible on Sunday, and do whatever the bishop tells them to. Many of those who start reading their Bibles end up leaving or getting kicked out.

It was a slow transition of me leaving the Amish, but I quit going to Amish church over a year ago. My family didn't want anything to do with me after I got married two months ago. My husband and I go to the Church of the Nazarene denomination. I don't like when peoples' videos drag on either. I try my best to get to the point and keep it short.

We spoke Pennslvania Dutch as our first language (dialect).

There is no Amish practitioner. Everyone has to believe the same things, and we are all taught from the time we are born. The preachers tell you what to believe, and you can't ask questions because everyone has to believe the same things.

@@AmishToChristian yes, Titus lives traditionally, he isn't amish though. While he is a very different Christian from myself, I admire his authenticity and I perceive that his faith is sincere.

From watching a little bit about Titus, I can definitely say he has a different type of Faith than the Amish, and it sounds like he actually reads and studies the Bible. I'll check it out a little more but he does have a very interesting lifestyle. I keep thinking he is Amish because of the way he dresses and I can't figure out why in the world he would choose to dress like that. Usually when people are dressed in such a way, it is forced or somewhat forced. There is nothing wrong with dressing like he wants to, I just want to find out why he chooses that.

​@AmishToChristian There are a few people I've come across, actually, who choose to dress that way, all of them men. One in particular does it for attention and sort of a costume/for show kind of thing. Leaves a sour taste in my mouth :-/
