Do this track offseason muscle gain
Hit the save button, because these are 4 big picture items that should be happening in the offseason.
1. Gain weight
It’s not likely you are going to recomp all offseason and the scale will stay the same. You need to move up in body weight over time.
2. Visually NOT Fatter Week to Week
To gain weight fat gain very likely will happen. But we don’t want it too fast. You can have a rate of body weight increase in the 0.25-0.5% per week, but what I look for week to week is not seeing noticeable body fat change as well.
3. Gym Performance Increases
Bigger muscle moves bigger weight. If you are gaining muscle we should see load and reps moving up across all sets overtime. If this is not happening it huge red flag to reevaluate the entire program.
4. Muscle Gain Seen Visually Across Months
We can’t see muscle gain happen week to week, its a slow process. Compare pics back over several months to see size increase. Those visuals can aid in reviewing training plan design, what worked and what didn’t.
