@@gaynor1721 They literally retconned the Doctor genociding their own species, if we can look past that retcon we can look past one good ending for a companion (and she lived for almost twenty years in confused sadness not knowing what she lacked, id hardly say it was without any effect)
@@gaynor1721 I mean at the time it was supposed to be the end and even now it's stated she couldn't have survived without a child to pass half the energy onto first.
Ncuti was in the year above me at school. It's been amazing to see his career flourish, but little did I know that that super talented theatre kid who lit up the gloomy corridors of that old school would go on to be the hero of the show I have loved since I was six years old. He absolutely killed it and I'm so, so happy for him. Ncuti is gonna be an all-timer.
That's great and also a coincidence because Jodie actually was in the year above me at school, the same school. In the end, I didn't enjoy her era, but it wasn't her fault and she's still an amazing actress, particularly in Broadchurch. It was great hearing her/our accent represented on TV too. We don't get a lot of exposure. Lol.
@@OneTrueScotsman Jodie was massively let down by the writers, both in terms of character and stories. People say Capaldi got it bad, but he could carry even the worst material.
@@OneTrueScotsman Then you went to the same school as one of my current friends - she used to be friends with Jodie back then. 'tis a pity that the friendship didn't continue into the modern day - I might have been able to wangle myself a trip on the TARDIS. ^_~
@@HellfireCommsJodie's run wasn't as bad as angry conservatives say. A lot of sexism ruined her reputation. She was about the same level as Eccleston in my opinion, and it was certainly more watchable than classic who. But people are more tolerant of Eccleston and classic who because he's a guy and some guys are just not as willing to forgive mediocrity because they have closeted bias against a woman taking the man's job.
In those minutes where the Toymaker was in the UNIT HQ room, he: - Strolls right in - Performs a Spice Girls musical number - Refuses to elaborate - Leaves.
Incredibly funny to me to think that this seemingly all-powerful, extra-dimensional entity wanting to defeat the doctor likes the spice girls and knows the lyrics of spice up your life commited to memory
which is i find that scene scary. This guy can do anything and pretty much cannot be stopped unless you beat him in a a game which are usually rigged in his favour. And here you can tell he's not taking it seriously and that in itself i pretty damn terrifying
You know what I really liked about this episode? That Gatwa and Tennant's Doctors hugged and supported each other. Every other Doctor had mean encounters with his/her other incarnations, but these two instantly demonstrated love, because thats what the 15th Doctor is: He's the Doctor Who learned to love himself.
I think 10&11 had a good/respectful relationship too. Even their insults were just light-hearted jokes which neither of them took seriously and just added to their chemistry dynamic. All in all, they worked well together.
Probably bc 15 is basically a less traumatized, more optimistic version of 14, so they’re very much alike in terms of personality, also 14 is not nearly as vain as 10, só of course he wouldn’t roast 15’s appearance like he did with 11 lol
There might not be any hug, but The Day of the Doctor has the Doctors (10 & 11) coming round to accept and love what they thought was the worst part of themselves in the War Doctor and willing to relive the worst day of their lives to relieve the burden solely on War and to comfort him at the end.
"But they are honourable men." ~Marc Antony in "Julius Caesar", Shakespeare "Oh, well that's ALRIGHT THEN!" ~The Toymaker in "Doctor Who", Russell T. Davies
"Well That's Alright Then!" is definitely my favorite part other than the 'Spice Up Your Life' I like that The Toymaker is just like; "make excuses all you like, you're responsible for their deaths because YOU brought them with you."
My headcanon is UNIT ensured Wilf’s safety by taking him to Sesska’s Spa in the TARDIS, where he was safe and sound, and he and Sesska got along famously. And since a TARDIS is now accessible to the Noble family, in his remaining years, Wilf will be a popular regular at Sesska’s Spa, and every once in a while, he’d be quite ready for another adventure with the Doctor.

You actually met Mel briefly at Graham's former companion support group at the end of The Power of the Doctor. She was the one who asked "Just how many Doctors are there, anyway?" The Giggle was absolutely insane, and that's a massive understatement. Still uncertain about bi-generation but within the context of this story, I'm willing to accept it. Great to see the Toymaker back as I have always found him to be a fascinating villain, and Neil Patrick Harris absolutely smashed it. Ncuti Gatwa's debut here has already got more excited than ever for his first series.
Believe it or not, "bi-generation" is not without significant precedence in Doctor Who. At first it looked to me like they'd just made a copy of the Doctor. But the dialog suggests that Gatwa's Doctor is actually who Tennant's Doctor EVENTUALLY regenerates into, transported by the power of the Toymaker to that moment. And we've seen things like this before. I won't give two spoilerful instances, but one is where Cho-je is really the future regeneration of K'Anpo Rimpoche waiting to be born. Those of us in the know can surely guess the other two instances I'm thinking of.
I was hoping they would use NPH as a multi-episode threat. The Toymaker played by NPH should have been subtly affecting things over several episodes. Include references to 'bonus rounds', 'downloadable content', 'expansion packs', and other phrases to have the Toymaker adding on to the 'fun.
ikr, i was kinda uncertain about the bi generation thing but idec, my bb finally gets a happy ending and idc what sharks we have to jump to get there. he needed a hug and finally fucking got one and i am sobbing *i* have never been so happy in my life. PLUS WE GET NCUTI. NEITHER HAD TO COME AT THE EXPENSE OF THE OTHER AND IM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA this was perfect.
I thought the entire thing was great. Ncuti being essentially 'The Doctor Healed' is gonna be great. Ever since the revival with 9 the Doctor has always been carrying the weight of all the terrible things in their past (Especially the Time War). To see the Doctor be able to move on and accept those things and HEAL is going to be a breath of fresh air.
@@accidentcellar6307eh... Does really everything have to end in tragedy? I don't think it makes it less impactful since she did live 15 years confused. I am happy she gets to have a happy ending in contrast to all the ones that died. "Well that's alright then" was a powerful scene that showed how companions ended up the last few years - it kinda is refreshing to get a gappy ending for once. Yea I know 'the fam' was off ok... but I struggle to have any emotional connection with any of them.
yeah i was so happy when I found out she was coming back, she's desserved so much more with half of her original run being co-companion, and hated her forgetting the doctor, her being given a chance for happiness is great, how ever long it lasts.
15 looked at all Doctors getting multi-Doctor stories close to the end of their run but he said “NOOOPE, come here baby!” and he debuted playing ball with Tennant lmao 😭✨
My headcanon, when 15th says "I'm okay because you fix yourself" (along those lines) refers to the fact that 14th will eventually, somehow, become 15th, and will appear in that bi-generation scene. Meanwhile, he will be with the Nobles, healing himself, enjoying his time, getting better and when the time comes...
I am not knowledgable about a lot of actors, so seeing the insane amount of hype for NPH raised my eyebrow. My god he was amazing. His Toymaker might just be one of if not my favorite villain in all of entertainment. Ive been rewatching clips of the episode non stop. He mentions his legions, so im really hoping he comes back for a finale or special just one more time😭.
By the way, Jess your Doctor Who reactions have been a regular feature in my life for years now. I'm so pleased to see you hitting nearly 100k in subs!
Eleven: "There's only one person in the universe who hates me as much as you do." Fifteen: "I've got you." Achievement Unlocked: Character Development!
I think most of the Doctor hating himself came from the belief that he'd destroyed Gallifrey. A few years after meeting the Dream Lord, he "remembered" that he didn't do it, so that probably erased a lot of self-loathing.
So that whole dance sequence The Toymaker does is neat but fun fact ALL future and former Theater kids can just do that whenever we want. As such we should always be feared :P
Tennant's doctors have come a long way, from getting his "reward" of death in the End of Time Pt2 and saying "I don't want to go," to getting his reward of a family which he can heal with, until he comes to the point where he can say "I am ready to go." Once that happens, I imagine 14 will loop back in time and regenerate into 15 in this episode
The Disney+ era of Who is like bacon in the morning: Cracklin! All 3 of the anniversary specials have been a blast, I've really enjoyed them, and I can't wait to see what's coming next! Give Rocco an extra hug for me :)
This episode was such joy. Even the Toymaker, as evil as he was, was a felight every time he was on screen. I'm so glad you loved it, it was big and bonkers and emotional and silly and dramatic - all the things Doctor Who should be!
I think it would have been a better character without the goofy accent and humor that they threw in. At no point was he scary, dangerous, what ever, just a comedian toymaker wasn't interesting to me. Now i love Neil he's so great in everything he does but i wish he played the character different. Here, he basically was Neil being Neil and goofy which he pretty much does in everything he does. I wanted something scary and different.
"Und Yaz, ooooh little Yasmin Khan! Broke her heart ven you knew you ver to change und she wouldn't fancy you anymore" "We still had ice cream" "WELL THAT'S ALRIGHT THEN!"
And and yes! That wonderful jazzy music you were adorably dancing to at the end is Titled "Fifteen" and will be Ncuti's character theme for his run and it is wonderful.
@26:30 doesn’t sound odd at all. My therapist actually had me talk about what present me would say to childhood me to help deal with trauma. Thought it was a brilliant use of actual therapy work to kickstart the Doctor’s healing. I absolutely adored this trilogy, & I couldn’t be more excited about the future! Wonderful reaction, as always! 💜💜➕🟦
14 will eventually regenerate in the traditional sense into 15 and the 2 Tardis’ will probably recombine. 14 will be healed by that time and the timelines will return to normal. It’s also good that this opens up for a spinoff with possible appearances by 14. Let’s hope so. At first i was put off by the split regeneration but it’s no different to the original regeneration. A new concept that will just take a little to get used to.
I doubt it. Russell T. Davies recently said that he likes to think that ALL the previous Doctors had a bi-regeneration and spilt into two beings, so they are still alive somewhere the universe. It just happened "off-screen".
It's *pretty* different from normal regeneration. 15 didn't even get a proper "settling in" period afterwards like the other Doctors; he just leaped right into being calm and well-adjusted, as if 14 held onto all the angst that Doctors get about having changed. And this is *not* the first time RTD did this, if you'll recall. He split off another Tennant when Donna went all meta-crisis, and then he shunted *that* Tennant to another universe so we'd never have to see him again and so at least *one* Tennant would get to retire to having a "normal life". RTD *literally* did the same thing twice.
@@pvksl they share a chord structure, probably because Murray Gold wrote both pieces, and both of them have a specific, sorrowful tone they're aiming for. So maybe, but every reaction I've watched thusfar when that scene is playing, Decim is what hits my ears.
Because of the eternally serialized nature of Doctor Who, I never thought that any version of the Doctor would ever get a real happy ending. Like, it breaks my heart how much pain and suffering the Doctor has to endure and because the show is just not going to end, I assumed they always would. That even one incarnation get to be happy in the end is honestly a gift to me as a lifelong fan. For once, just for once, everything was beautiful and nothing hurt. I'm glad he's happy. I'm glad he's taking care of himself. The Doctor is allowed to be healed too. That's important to me.
I'm not sure exactly how it works... but watching your reaction, I better understand that 15 actually DOES come after 14... and 14 has to go through his healing to become 15 with 15's mindset.
@@Rocket1377 he travelled with both doctors ( Mainly Colin Baker )But during the McCoy era she was replaced by ACE . I can remember her AT Colin bakes regeneration into Silvester . I sorry for the confusion but when you get to my age .
I've been so looking forward to seeing your reaction to unravelling it's the Toymaker, knowing you'd both know who he is and are one of the few people who avoids spoilers. He was so good. I love this "ending" for the Doctor. I think it's genius RTD has focused on the core throughline that every incarnation shares, and that's his mental battles and deflections. This "reset" is perfect for me -- eventually, I seemed to wonder if the Doctor even enjoyed travelling. And a Doctor could be as outwardly positive and optimistic like Jodie's was, but I still couldn't buy into her positivity because she was simultaneously so trauma'd, introverted, and walled off from her friends. She avoided talking about herself and refused to emotionally open up to her friends for basically her entire era. And it's almost like a breaking point. So much so that the Doctor's body changes into a past face, like it was it's way of telling itself that it needs to take a breath and catch a break. And then he can finally find relief and comfort in a future version of himself, the only person he can trust, that tells him it's all going to be okay. And I thought that alone was already such a beautiful mentally healthy concept. And now, thanks to some Toymaker shenanigans where the rules are all fuzzy, the Doctor can finally have a rest for an indefinite amount of time, a full Time-Lord lifecycle. Domesticated and Earth-bound, but still occasionally taking TARDIS trips to nonlethal and relaxing destinations. A proper retirement. And then, once fully healed, gets to regenerate into Ncuti back in time at the events of the helipad. 15's scene explaining it to the 14th Doctor gets more rewarding for me every time I rewatch it, I can really feel Ncuti as this welcoming presence, who was older and wiser that Tennant in how he talked to him. Saying he understands and accepts his life finally, instead of just running from it. So much so that he can go on adventures again for the love of exploring, and not just as deflection. It's a great reset to start the new era with immediate and genuine positivity. The first 40 mins are a great Doctor Who story, but the last 20 are what makes this an anniversary special
I found this channel looking for 60th anniversary content and these reactions have been a great post-episode highlight for me for the last few weeks. Subscribed!
The Giggle was a crazy special for sure, but I really liked it. It was both Weird & Wonderful. 🃏❤ I loved Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker. Teared up a little seeing the Doctor so happy at the table scene. It was heartwarming to get a happy ending.
I love how much the last two seasons havre been odes to doctor who old companions including the very first from the first episodes, and now one of his first non recuring villian having a chance to come back :>
Matt Smith had to start his tenure with a lot of bad will because he was not only coming after Tennant super beloved Doctor, but after he said, on screen, that he didnt want to go. Now, regenerating into a black Doctor, especially in our current times and after the very shaky tenure of Whitaker (not for her fault), I think having Tennant NOT die for Ncuti Gatwa to assume his post was an extremely clever and practical idea! He will have an uphill enough battle ahead of him, so any help that could be written into the scripts would be apreciated.
The more times I watch it the more I appreciate the genius of it, what a way to reboot yet also continue the show! Nuwho gets an ending but Doctor Who doesn’t end, I cannot wait for 15!
Rory Williams: "There are soldiers all over my house and I'm in my pants" Fifteenth Doctor: "I'm on a UNIT helipad and my jukebox was almost exposed!" Fourteenth Doctor: "Anyway, moving on!" The TARDIS: "Planar bifurcation? I didn't know I could do that! Would do that! Will do that? I want to bite someone! . . . . Or was that kiss? Allons 'y! Oh . . . The skinny one with the spikey-up hair says that doesn't he. My beautiful thief! Thieves? Wait a minute . . I'm beside myself!" Fourteen and Fifteen: "Likewise!"
I'd like to point out to anybody that might not know that some people who use wheelchairs can walk. I've seen a lot of people in various reactions confused about that.
I've known several wheelchair users. They're not all the same. Some really can't move their legs at all, while others can stand up and even walk a few steps. It's important to remember that the latter still require a wheelchair for mobility. It's good that they included that
Ncuto absolutely smashed it out of the park. He was the Doctor in two minutes. One minute even. Just like Tennant when he stepped out of the TARDIS in The Christmas Invasion. Ncuti and Millie are going to be amazing.
My head canon is that fifteen is soo positive because he's dealt with his trauma because his previous incarnation (fourteen) got to deal with it through his retirement with the Nobles, and when bi-generated Tennant eventually dies he and his memories pops back out of himself as Nutti Gattwa's doctor on the helipad. I think this is backed up by the lines fifteen said himself "I'm fine because you fix yourself" and “We're Time Lords. We're doing rehab out of order.”
I love that you gave Benton and Yates a mention in your post-episode thoughts. :) Can we get them back in the show?! On the off chance that you reach 100k before your next video, congratulations on the huge milestone! I know it's sometimes been a rocky journey but you deserve all the success in the world.
They'll probably never return to the show unfortunately, but you can listen to their return in the Big Finish UNIT set Assembled which is pretty good, definitely recommend it for fans of the Pertwee era.
The Toymaker make the bi-generation possible. The Doctor (David) said to him...'You did this!' He made the myth (superstition) possible. Plus....I love Ncuti's energy right out of the gate. The Doctor is no longer defined by his trauma....Doctor heal thyself. :)
27:32 I live with mental illness too. If I could go back to my 20 year old self, I would tell him that in spite of what's going on in his head, in spite of whatever crazy dreams or freaky shit, we're still here, we are still us. And thoughts are just thoughts, not facts. And the bad habits that we have are not worth it. The girl we are destined to have is out here, not on a monitor. That we will have people in our lives that will pull us out of hell when we can't do it ourselves we are not alone, and never will be.
When we first meet Hartnell’s Doctor, he isn’t zapping around the universe fighting monsters, demons and Gods. He is an old and somewhat frail man, settled in London with his Granddaughter, Susan. The Doctor and Susan had ran away from Gallifrey leaving their entire family behind. They ran away because they no longer wanted to be Time-Lords. They are now on earth living as humans. Susan is going to school - therefore interacting with humans day in day out. She would eventually learn how to fit in- leave school, meet someone, settle down and have kids. The Doctor would be surrounded by his family. Instead, two teachers decide to poke their noses in instantly setting off a chain of events taking the Doctor and his granddaughter lives back to the very thing they had run away from. By the time Susan had had enough and decides to settle down leaving her Grandad, the Doctor could not - he had to keep going for fear of looking back. 14 finding a family is a beautiful payoff after 60 years. Wiping the slate clean for 15 When 14 rests his head on 15’s shoulder - that is all of those years of hurt and loss.
I loved it! This brought tears to my eyes, all the emotions and zaniness of the episode! This is one of my favorites! I’m excited for the future! Love your reactions Sesska! ❤️
Just as this was to be released, announcement, that the next animation from BBC will be the 1966 “the Celestial Toymaker”, in early 2024. With only one episode surviving, and the audio, and photos. They obviously want to get the original out, for fans to experience. The Toymaker was to return later,…episode script was not made. It was made into a Novel adapt, and, an audio drama. (I’m not telling when or which Doctor -yet it’s great this character has now returned).
I've been seeing this theory floating around that the 14 Doctor will be the one to regenerate into the Curator later on at some point since he is somewhat grounding himself down. What does everyone think?
I'll add that they've confirmed they're making an animation of The Celestial Toymaker, so you can finally watch it properly given if I remember correctly you had to read the details of it instead. I'm really excited to see it properly animated at last!

The outfit was split between them. 14 kept the undershirt, waistcoat and trousers. 15 got the shirt, underpants, tie, and shoes. The talk of 15 being fine because 14 "fixed himself" kind of implies he merged back in somehow. At least that's how it sounded to me. I'm reminded of a certain classic regeneration which did something similar.
I think there's a whole debate to be had about whether or not The Toymaker, having waited for 57 years to stage a comeback on TV, was overshadowed by the big innovation in this story. He does, though, get the chance to show off ('Well, that's alright then!'). NPH commented that he wasn't aware of 'Spice up your life' (which peaked at No.18 in the US and was a relative disappointment in terms of sales), but as a backing track it's deliriously chaotic and - as The Spice Girls were in some respects - quite punky. And I am now wondering about Ms Kate Lethbridge-Stewart and her red fingernails...
Yeah, I laughed in Unleashed when NPH said how Americans don't really know the song the same way Brits do, because as an American, I was in the same boat as him. I THINK I have a very vague memory of the song, but I definitely didn't know they words or anything. But then I was well into my 20s when that song came out and most of the Spice Girls success at that time was the tween market.
I'm British and I didn't know about "Spice Up Your Life" (though bear in mind I was born in 2006), mostly because I just haven't heard any Spice Girls songs, except for this one now :)@@NicoleM_radiantbaby
Thought this was a fantastic finale to the specials. Loved every moment of it. As a life long DW fan, I think the bigeneration idea is genius. RTD yet again has come up with such a fantastic idea. From what I understand from his commentary on this episode (available on the BBC website if your interested), the bigeneration is somehow "backdated" to every Doctor (which I assume will be explained at some point). So I reckon it's really an excuse for RTD to bring back any previous Doctor at any time and say they bigenerated rather than regenerated all those years ago, as an explanation for how they've aged. Anyway, another brilliant reaction Jess. As a long time subscriber, I can tell those who haven't yet - it's well worth it.
Sesska, THANK YOU for mentioning Amy and Rory!! The most annoying thing for me is putting out the idea that this is the first time The Doctor had a family! Rose and her folks, The Ponds, and even Nardole (and Missy) were with him for decades! Hahaha, 13 called her companions "fam"!! I hope your Christmas gift for this channel is that 100kth subscription! It would be great to see that YT plaque hanging up behind your couch!
Maybe the point is that this time he gets to sit back and enjoy it without any impending doom. He can go to New York with a friend just for fun and not run into any trouble. Someone in another video suggested that this TARDIS understands and will take him where he wants to go, not so much where he is needed. The new Doctor will handle all that. Edited to add: The Doctor doesn’t talk about all the trauma, he just holds it all in. Donna saw into his mind and she knows and understands. He can talk to her and vent some of it knowing that she will understand and not judge.
@@lisanygaard2720 As did River, Nardole, etc. It's not terrible, but it has been done before. This feels more like RTD making amends for his characters' traumas.
In all my years, I’ve never met a woman who loves the Doctor as much as me, truly a woman after my own heart. I met NPH at Galaxy’s Edge back in September, he had time for me, really nice guy. If you’re ever in England, I would love to meet for a coffee and a chat, I love and appreciate you so much 💙💙

After such a long break from regular New Who episodes I can’t wait to watch along with you again! I’m loving your Classic who watch alongs! And I’m patiently waiting for you to get to my favourite season of classic who.
I have been looking forwards to your reaction since the episode aired, both because I know you keep clear of spoilers and your series watching classic who. Calvin in blind wave can be good for references to the 4th doctor but ive not seen anyone get this hyped for the toymaker without needing it explained to them. Love it!
I just want to say i love your videos. I don't have anyone to watch Dr who with so it's nice to watch your videos it's like watching it with someone and then you get happy and cry at the same times i do and everything it just feels nice. Sorry i know it probably sounds lame. I found your channel during jodies final specials and it was nice to find it again with these!!🌹💕 Awesome videos always and you always look great!
I loved this episode, as for the bi-generation I hope it’s a one time thing, they say it’s a myth, I wish they had added that it’s a superstition, made real by the power of the Toymaker. My only wish is that David’s Doctor didn’t get his own TARDIS, it kinda undercut his entire “I’m going to retire and focus on healing myself” thing. I also wish they gave David’s Doctor a new name, just so we can cement Ncuti’s Doctor as THE Doctor, I would hate for his Doctor to feel undercut by David’s existence. People like the idea of him becoming the Curator from the 50th.
Parts of fandom are already calling Tennant's Doctor 'the REAL Doctor' and Ncuti's 'the half-Doctor' or off-shoot or whatever. I feared this would happen as soon as I watched that scene. And it's already started. 😒
@NicoleMazza The fact that they are calling the new Doctor's first season "Series 1" will only give more weight to this. The show has basically been rebooted. They have essentially retired the old Doctor Who and the old TARDIS, and replaced them with fresh new ones. The new Doctor has none of the baggage or trauma (character development) of the last 60 years, so they can start completely fresh.
@@NicoleM_radiantbaby I see Ncuti's Doctor as the "real" Doctor who is continuing the line. To me, the Fourteenth Doctor is a bit like that copy of the Tenth Doctor that ended up in the alternate universe with Rose. Although I do hope we'll see him again once in a while.
You made me laugh so hard at "I don't know what the FUCK is happening" lmaooo you're so cute and then that expletive. Great reaction vid. It was such a beautiful episode.
ive seen people use the name "the love doctor" for this new doctor due to how caring he is, even in the few scenes weve seen of him so far and i think it fits perfectly
I enjoyed this a lot. I thought NPH made a great Toymaker. I love Bonnie Langford, so it was nice to see Mel, though (in all honesty) a part of my brain thought, Mel? Really? Of all the companions you could have brought back, you went with Mel? I also really enjoyed Ncuti's performance in this and it makes me quite excited for his upcoming stories.
27:10 Yes. I watched this episode and another reaction, but that sentence of yours had me pause and go cry and do a tiny bit of mental healing, so thanks :D Because I *really* needed my future self telling me that I'm gonna be okay...
I just want to point out that the Doctor only recently dealt with the Master doing that Rasputin musical. This episode is only a couple days after that from the Doctor's point of view. So he has to deal with ANOTHER villain musical.
TL;DR = yeah, seems like they're going with the former (TennantC Doctor will become Gatwa later & then come back to the UNIT HQ Helipad in 2023 as opposed to being the Curator or the Valeyard). Apparently (as in based on what RTD said in commentary & in articles + the dialogue between Gatwa & TennantC (Power Of The Doctor-The Giggle) in the episode that's the plan. Technically the Bigeneration is a timeskip meets a timeloop as opposed to one timelord becoming two. While we have our time with Gatwa Doctor now. TennantC Doctor still has to do the 'work' with the therapy, which will presumably be off screen (with help from Big Finish Titan Comics and maybe cameos down the road) & when he's done, he'll start to regenerate, then disappear & reappear back in 2023 as Gatwa to play catch with the Toymaker & TennantC, then as Gatwa, will go off and have adventures we are gonna see in the rest of New S1/Revival S14/S40 and beyond. With the TARDIS, TennantC's TARDIS will become Gatwa's (in the same way Smith's second console room became Capaldi's by adding furniture & changing the lighting colour), which then gets sent back to 2023 (like the Gatwa Doctor) when Gatwa hits the TARDIS with the mallet or more simply put: it's the same original TARDIS that Hartnell Doctor (& possibly/probably the Martin Doctor before) stole all though millenia ago.
