An actual pair of Tweets that appeared at around the same time as this episode: *Random User*: If you kill Rory again this episode, I'm getting my pitchfork. *Steven Moffat*: You'll have to PULL IT OUT OF RORY first!
I read something INCREDIBLE on tumblr: *When River was badassly shooting the Silence in the end and then turned her head away from the Silence she forgot them but Rory saw the Silence and got scared and she shot behind her. RIVER SHOT SOMETHING BECAUSE RORY WAS SCARED AND DIDN'T EVEN LOOKED AT WHAT OR WHOM SHE SHOT!!! GODDAMN ! I LOVE HER!*
Did you notice the link between series 5 episode The Lodger and this 2 parter? Well it was the Silence's empty spaceship which was on top of Craig's flat. That's why it was empty with the auto pilot going crazy. They had already killed the Silence. I did not notice till way later but trust me Series 6 is going to be a whooper. Can't wait un till you see where it's all going :)
I've always assumed that the Time Engines that the Silence had were also how they manipulated the Tardis into exploding in The Pandorica Opens, too. It was never explained how they did it in the show, but considering the effect it had on the Tardis in The Lodger while just trying to find a new pilot, I don't think it's a stretch to imagine that they could have weaponised it.
As a military family member I figured you would get that the salute was wrong. It's a British style of salute while he's trying to pass as an American official. I love little touches like that.
I’m trying to learn to take it seriously. Unfortunately years growing up with Monty Python and Benny Hill being my only exposure to it has done its damage. Especially Benny Hill with his stupid grin saluting. It just reflexively pops into my head whenever I see it.
Other way around - the US armed forces salute in a similar was to the Royal Navy do with the palm down - the other British (and commonwealth) armed forces such as the Army and RAF salute like Rory did.
I absolutely adore complex storytelling & most of the Moffat era (seasons 5-7, and then 7-9) is just one huge mystery that we slowly get the revelation to
It's just possible I may have told you before that your reactions are BRILLIANT!! There aren't that many for this era of the show and none will be as emotional, entertaining, funny and genuine as yours! The River love has nothing to do with it.........honestly!! Your reactions to River have left me buzzing though!! The Doctor/River moments were amazing too! Your intake of breath when they kissed was so real. His first kiss was her last. That's such sweet sorrow. Also you love the flirting!! That's another reason some people hate River that I don't have to worry about. This may be too good to be true!! It's a great start to the season, but with the variety in DW we're just as likely to get a silly pirate episode next. Actually we do get a silly pirate episode next! It's average but fine. Hyping up other episodes risks making them feel overrated for some people. Though with rewatches this season has elevated it's position to just below season 5 for me. What an incredible ending that was and your reaction to it OMG! I can already see you working things out, this is going to be so much fun to watch with you! Thank you for making this week a whole lot better. It's just possible I may have told you before that you are truly AWESOME!!
Remember a couple of episodes ago a certain somebody was afraid from things she has read that seasons 4 and 5 were the best?? Carry on enjoying Sess :-)))
I think this is definitely going to my top five sesska reactions. Just the entire episodes. The River/Doctor moments! Any/Rory! Regeneration freak out (same)! Silence being creepy fuckers! Loved it, and your reaction was AMAZING. Also I adore Canton. I hope he got to get married in the end. And that scene with River and the Doctor... so sad. A first time and a last. Ugh. My heart. Alex Kingston is so amazing as River though, I love her. And this episode in general. It ties up some threads of plot from the previous series, while also asking a bunch of new questions. I know some people aren't fond of that, but I love the mystery and just the fun these two episodes have. Favorite moment - your reaction to River being a badass, to flirting, to the silence being freaky and that last WTF moment. Loved it. I get to experience all of these things again through your eyes and that's just a delight. Hope you're having a great day! Looking forward to next week (as always).
Your reaction at the end ha! Was defo a bombshell and a half! ...You finally got a full proper story in America too! 2 more episodes and you'll be on one of my very favorite episodes.
This is one of the creepiest episodes of DW. That part with the lady in the door!!! Definitely a horror film vibe. "Meanwhile in creepy town..." that astronaut breathing sounds like darth vader. I love your reaction to that little girl regenerating!!! One of the best moments!
Turned out she was actually pregnant but the twist in The Almost People partially explains it. The real Amy was genuinely pregnant but the doppleganger couldn't literally copy that, hence why it was pregnant and not pregnant at the same time.
@@LightLife4 you know... its no fun when you TELL. Luckily she has already seen that episode I hope. A simpe "Indeed, It did show. You will find out in future episodes". Key to watching reactions.... NEVER write what happends in a future episode, never, not even when the reactor gets that far. Only current or past episodes. Common internet manners.
@@CarolineForest If you're referring to Sesska Says chances are she's probably not that bothered if people mention a couple of spoilers, chances are others have seen it in its entirety and the likelihood is she knows that. In regards to criticising others of spoilers please try looking at other comments cos the chances are I wasn't the only one saying it out of the other 261 comments, thank you.
River's 'and a last time' is really sad because it was the last time she kissed the doctor (because the Doctor was so surprised she knew it was his first time so it has to be her last)
Some Random Guy spoilers (lol) . . . . . . . . . that's true, but technically it wasn't really River (just an echo) and it was after her 'death' in the library. The last kiss that the real River and Eleven shared was in his episode. And in that moment River thought she would never kiss him again, that's why the scene is so sad. It just breaks her heart.
Ok - now I have my issues with this comment from the OP but can we please leave the poxy spoilers out until the proper time whenever the heck that may be! With or without warnings there is just no need for this stuff especially since we have asked untold times not to do it.
I just KNEW your reaction at the end was gonna be worth waiting on going to go get my check :D. Always loved Canton in this 2 parter. Mark Sheppard is probably one of my biggest actor crushes he always shows up in my kinda shows.
I love!!! the Doctor's Wife episode. It is just pure gold and one of my favorites from Nu Who. Used to be one of my top 3 favorites in Nu Who until the reign of the 12th Doctor (now I adore so many of his episodes). But still one of the top 10 favorites from Nu Who. Season 6 is full of amazing episodes. The story arc is one of the best.
Elizabeth Salvatore Yeh, I love how they ["SPOILERS, Sweetie"] in that episode! I'm enjoying the 11th much more, second time around. Ever since I heard there's a photo somewhere of Steven Moffat as a kid, a gangly, awkward kid, wearing a blazer with trousers too short, crazy hair and...a bow-tie. Suddenly his dream-version of the Doctor makes sense. And Matt Smith is comedy gold
Things I lose my shit over in this two-parter: -River pretending the whole time like she didn't know exactly what they were investigating and who the little girl was and why they had a spacesuit. -Little Melody/River yelling for help and to be rescued. She has pictures of her parents and was probably hoping they would save her when she saw them. -The poor child living in that orphanage all by herself, and River having to relive all of the horrible memories (the ones they haven't taken from her) of living there as a child and being raised as a weapon. -Both River and little Melody seeing their parents not recognize her while Amy is pregnant with her. -Amy not realizing she is investigating her little girl's room who was taken from her, and was probably only allowed to keep those pictures of her so she would miss the parents she never got to meet. -River mowing down all the Silents not just because they're a threat but because she has a personal against them (even if it's only in the back of her mind and she doesn't 100% remember them) since she was raised around them. -Just the fact that River is as aware of what's going on in this episode as we are when we rewatch it. She knows Amy's pregnant, that Amy is going to be/is taken, that the girl in the suit who kills the Doctor is her younger self, and the Ponds who barely know her are her parents. And she has to act clueless to preserve her timeline even though it's probably really painful for her. She sees them as her parents and husband like we do when we rewatch it, but she's they don't know her like that yet. It's like she has our perspective of having already lived though it, like rewatching a movie while sitting next to someone who's never seen it. You even have to act surprised or you'll seem suspicious or give away "Spoilers". I can't get over it.
I am :40 seconds in I already hit like on the video button....thank you so much for doing these Doctor Who fans have become so negative, it is good to be reminded on why I love this show so much
Just found your channel. Glad you're enjoying the show so much. I won't mention spoilers, but as you're already aware of the minisodes, when the time comes to watch the two 50th anniversary special episodes at the end of season 7, be sure to watch the minisode "Night of The Doctor" first.
AND ONE WHACKING GREAT BIG KICK UP THE BACKSIDE FOR THE SILENCE... That line always fucking kills me! The Doctor at his best! I actually remember this scene was kinda replicated in the Doctor Who Eternity Clock game. Had fun playing as River shooting up Silents.
This episode explains the momentary blip in the transmission made by Neil Armstrong, which he says in real life obscured him saying the 'a' part of 'one small step for a man'.
That was a big episode. Lots of character work went down. Also really liked the actor who played the spaced out keeper at the orphanage. So much big stuff happened that will answered later. A fantastic episode. This is a very good series which has a couple of episodes I don't like but I won't tell you which ones they are because you might love the whole thing. Hope you do.
Love that someone is reacting to this fantastic show, would like more if you showed big reveals and the action, if you are only showing snips here and there in an attempt to beat the system and keep monetization i suggest just forget it show the show and start a patreon like alot of other content creators have done, great reactions 👍
Episodes like this show that if Steven Muppet had made an A-to-Z storyboard like Strazynski did for Babylon 5, it could've been one of the greatest bits of TV ever. Instead, Davies's 'A-team in space' approach was better.
Hi Sesska, really enjoyed your reaction, you were certainly really into this two-parter. At 2.58, oh no !!, Rory`s dead again, do you think they modelled him on Kenny from South Park or vice versa !! Lol :) At 3.45, your reaction to River & the swimming Pool, brilliant. I bet you thought that was never going to be mentioned again didn`t you. :) The tally marks were a big thing at the time, I bet if you ever manage to get to a Comic Con or Whovian convention, you will still come across fans with them. Plus of course you could get to meet a Weeping Angel up close & personal, now wouldn`t that be fun. :) At 5.35, your reaction to the Silence was great, wonder what Kevin would make of them given his reaction to the W.Angels !! Lol :) At 6.44-6.55 oh no !! the lady with the eye patch. As other`s have mentioned, your reaction to the unexpected regeneration was priceless !! Lol :)
Another great cliffhanger, that's two in a row. The girl's identity is one of the key points in this series' deep, connected and at times dark story. As for next episode, it's a mix of right and wrong for me. I feel like it gets better towards the very end despite the highs and lows of earlier, but at the end of the day it's for you to judge :)
Great reaction vid. There's some more great eps coming up with awesome ploy twists which I won't spoil, all I'll say it you need to check them out very closely....
