Does this work on dark hair? I've seen that question so many times on instagram and facebook etc about this Lime crime Unicorn Hair!
Looking for the new one for brunettes? just filmed 3 shades here: • Does LIMECRIME UNICORN...
I had to try this out to see if it actually did anything! Since Lime crime has released this unicorn hair dye it has been an absolute instagram obsession!! When I saw this unicorn hair dye my first thought was everyone else's! For reference my hair is dark dark dark dark brown/almost black but not black (hairdresser's words-not mine lol but true). I have tried to dye my hair in the past to no avail so I didn't have very high expectations but Lime crime did address this question to their instagram follower. They said this Unicorn Hair dye would leave a tint in darker hair so here is my video seeing if it works on as dark of hair as mine! Hope you guys like this review / demo on the Unicorn Hair from Lime crime cosmetics! Have you tried this yet?? Let me know if you have and what your favorite colors are! And if you have any questions let me know!! I didn't go through 5 hours of this for nothing haha (yup my hair is thick) i'm more than happy to offer any clarifications, answers etc.
And obviously if you want a vivid color you need to bleach, but since Limecrime stated it leaves a tint in non-lightened hair, that's what this video is for! (As also stated in video ;p )

The only reason I came to this video is because, I was going through Facebook videos and an ad for Lime Crime: Unicorn Hair popped up. The video made claims such as, “No lightening needed for dark hair, colors high in pigment and will fully color dark hair with no bleach.” I was like, I need to see a review for this because it sounds too good to be true. I was correct.

I appreciate the review because I have dark hair at the moment. Ppl on here commenting on here about the bleach need to stfu.. well no shit it works on light hair. How about you all go read the FAQ about how this works on dark hair and their claims. I'm glad you tested out, since supposely it would leave a tint on dark hair. I wanted to see exactly how noticeable it would be. Thanks!

I wanted to dye my hair with blue smoke ( my hair is about the same color as yours ) but i wanted to know if it would be noticeable or not because i kinda want it to be a bit noticeable so i guess ima have to buy anime lol :D

the problem is that if you don't bleach your hair the color washes out way faster. I know from personal experience, I thought that I could tint my hair purple without bleaching it, and basically the tint fell out in the shower and all over my pillow the first day. It's not worth is tbh.

Naomi Xx blue hair will ONLY show up true to color on very pale hair. If it's brassy then it'll come out green so if you plan on going blue, bleach and tone hun.

Naomi Xx blue isn't a color to use for tinting hair sadly. A blue based black maybe but straight up blue won't do anything for you.

I asked them personally which ones would work as a tint and they said blue smoke, chocolate cherry, pony, and jello were the only 4 that would be semi noticeable as a tint. Everything else is recommended for lighter hair

Thank you for making this video. I was so excited to see a darker hair color video using colorful dyes without bleaching or lightening. I was crossing fingers the whole time hoping it would work for you. I can see a little difference but not enough to go through all that. Unfortunately, I think the only way we can get those colors is lightening the hair first. I guess now we know and again thank you for taking the time. Great job!

You actually can tell even on video that the deep red tinted your hair it looks really good and I can see where it stops in the middle but yeah it definitely tinted your hair. But the pastels did nothing. Very pretty with or without it!

I also have thick dark dark brown hair as well, almost black but not black. I never tried putting any dye on my hair because I'm scared. I like the chocolate cherry one you put though, it was really pretty on the hair especially on direct sunlight. Anyways, thanks for the video.

Moon princess Love This is the answer she gave me verbatim lol "You can use bleach but I would mix olaplex in it .... If it's virgin hair meaning no color has been on it, then you can use a regular blonde color to lighten the hair, but it will not get it as light as bleach"

I use blonde box dyes and work my way up (I used 2 boxes on Ginger Blonde from Creme of Nature) i have bright dark teal hair color now and its stunning 💞💞 my hair was darker than hers, so i know box dyes will work

I literally have the lime crime unicorn hair chocolate cherry on my head right now. I was recommended to let it sit for any hour so it would last longer. Hoping it works as well as Arctic Fox's Ritual color hair dye. But the chocolate cherry left a pretty tint. I'm hoping to avoid having to lighten my hair a touch, we'll see

Alexandra inmon as long as the dye is darker than your actual hair it should work. I had very very deep brown hair and manic panic's vampire red worked like a charm and was decently priced. Good luck hun!

Scarlett Johnson not at all! It's vegan so there's no harsh chemicals. It's completely plant based with added conditioner so the longer you leave it in the better your hair will actually feel :)

don't use lime crime because that's a semi permanent if you want that red hue to your hair, go to Sally's and check out a red color booster in the tube color section. you can add that to your "brown" hair color and it'll give that hue. they even have it in blue and the green color booster is for when you want to take the red out

I have lighter brown hair and I bought Chocolate Cherry. I loved it! It turned such a gorgeous deep pink. But I don't think I'll ever use it again because I created such a disaster during the process. I'm like you...I make a huge mess coloring. Turned myself, towels, shower bright pink. Worked out the next day and sweated pink! I'm sad, because I loved the color so much, and it lasted too. But next time I'm going to the salon!

So beautiful girl ♡ Love the eye makeup, haven't watched the end yet but as a hairdresser I'm going to guess it didn't show up, you must lighten the hair first with like an up to 7 level lighter (bleach) And like 30 to 40 volume developer (activator) to cut thru the brass that dark hair goes thru on its way to becoming lighter :) fun video tho ,I'll stay to the end ;)

first time i used Artic Fox, it gave a really good tint with my dark hair. (since then i've had it bleached though) and i used purple rain which is the dark purple.

I used the L’Oréal Féria fuchsia hair dye on my dark hair and it showed up pretty well, nothing dramatic but a very bright almost cherry, if that makes sense lol. But I would recommend that for the price (10$) and I figured I would continue dying my hair in that color range and hopefully my hair would, in a sense, become pink.

I think it made your hair look healthy & noticeably different in some ways (not that it looked bad ever or honestly needed it) & shiny. I still think it could be considered like spa treatment, but not worth the time & price? Do you think more time would effect it + all product or does no one ever use the whole bottle? It's probably not worth it. Just curious, I know someone with darker hair, but I have light brown-red-blonde hair myself so everything shows up pretty well. She liked anything to make her hair look nice like that. We kind of half joke/half serious rule we live by, we'll work hard one day to be lazy for awhile. Meaning work hard one day for that hair if it makes it healthy + super manage & easy for sometime afterwards lol. Great video, very informative, you're probably 100% correct! Also my screen is dark because I have a condition that causes pain with light, especially blue, and I'd rather ask a RU-vidr and fans for advice than rish pain! Sorry for long comment, when I'm bored I comment a lot!

l'oréal professional (from sally's beauty) has red hair dye for dark hair (it's actually called magenta but it's red) but it doesn't last very long

Oh! I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned this to you before, but,color gets out color. If you get color on your skin you can use son left over color to get out the color, just dab a little and then wipe away with water. That's what I do
