Usman deserves 30 percent of the attention. Edit: I am shocked by all the filthy casuals who don't seem to know the Marty 30% meme. He gave a post fight interview and said we was fighting at only 30%.
@@The_Primary_Axiom actually, he probably won't. He will more than likely detail every hype train at UFC 251, one in the octagon, the other during all of his post fight interviews.
Masvidal is literally in the upper echelon of stardom from his OWN doing. Do yall see the promo run he’s on right now while preparing for a fight he didn’t have this time last week? Since London 2019 Masvidal has created his own stardom in and out of the ring. UFC is just making sure they capitalize too.
Birthday Batter Well see what becomes of super fun masvidal after he gets KO’d in the first round. The snowpiercer of hype trains is bout to get derailed by boring Marty.
@@The_Primary_Axiom That may happen(the win not the KO) but Usman will still be a human personality vacuum and the fans will still find Masvidal entertaining.
Liv Morgan P4P GOAT Out of 48 fights. Never been submitted or KO’d in the UFC. Out of his six UFC losses, 4 were split decisions, could have gone either way! 2 were unanimous, but he went the distance. He’s been doing this a long time and it’s pretty impressive if one doesn’t just focus the # of losses. Jorge has of a ton of fights with many knocks outs on his record.
@@kelleedawn461 Too true. His record is very misleading and will only serve to have people underestimate him. He's also barely taken any damage in those 48 fights. Absurd.
@@tylercoggins4436 yea im gonna say masvidal wins by tko if he is smart learn how to stop usmans takedowns cause he is only the champ. Because he is good at wrestling
Usman is actually so boring that very little has even been made of the fact that if he wins this weekend, he ties GSP's record for longest win streak at welterweight.
@himode Just the difference is GSP had 9 title defences while Usman has only 1,please do not compare them. Usman is juiced to the grills and using epo too. Usman is juiced fighting naturals while GSP was natural fighting juiceheads. GSP is the best ww of all time and the G.O.A.T of mma.
Some topics I would love to hear you cover Chael. 1. The commentators, talk about each one in your video from Felder to Anik and what they bring. 2. Fighters who have gone quiet after a loss, Gregor Gillespie for example after his loss to Kevin Lee. 3. Underrated veterans of the game, Cub Swanson is one of my absolute favourite fighters but I feel he's often underrated way too much. 4. Where does Kevin Lee fit into all this? lol
Usman's problem is that if he was fighting in your living room...he still wouldn't sell it out. He's a legit fighter, but when it comes to the PPV he just doesn't have the drawing power.
What many people fail to understand is that UFC is a numbers driven sport. Money is the name of the game. Usman brings great value to the company in terms of his world class wrestling, his discipline and ability to win fights, his ability to work, his ability to stay out of controversy. What he doesn't bring is - eyeballs. If we let usman headline a card and throw in another unknown wrestler to be his opponent, I think we would have a new record(in reverse) live gate for the UFC, that is, the lowest gate in the history of the sport. My main problem with usman is - During media interactions, he isn't really trying to express himself, he doesn't come across as honest and genuine, at times it appears as though he's trying too hard and it's just downright cringe. Usman needs a new PR team to handle his media side of the business. Period. He needs to find a way to change the way he walks, avoid speaking like he's deeply intelligent. He also needs a new wardrobe, a new speech writer and a new demeanor. Then maybe, he can sell 100k PPV. (can't say for sure but I'm cautiously optimistic he can do that number)
Usman doesn't get the attention because he's not himself in the interviews. Hes playing a character and it's cringe af. He was actually cool on Joe Rogan as long as they weren't talking about potential opponents.
That's true after McGregor the two stars are Khabib and Masvidal two guys who are true to themselves. If you do not have the natural quick wit that McGregor, Sonnen, Bisping etc have but you try to be loud, funny and abrasive it turns people off rather than increase the fan base.
Can say the same about jorge dude is a fucking lame that is the biggest poser in mma lol he plays a korny gangster a fake bangster and you all eat it up what a joke.
Agreed, even watching the post fight press conference I watched Masvidal even though he lost and I didn’t even care to bother searching to find Usman post fight. It’s just too uncomfortable to watch you can feel right away is not being himself and he’s playing a poor version of a character
I ran into chael today when I was passing through west linn today for work when I stopped at this cheesesteak place he was eating there with his family so I just thanked him and left. He was wearing this shirt lol too and wearing glasses looked like Clark Kent
Yes I was delivering some personal real estate signs to a clients home in West linn and I ran into the king. I live in Seattle so it was crazy seeing him the one time I've been to that part of Portland lol
That is where a lot of the hate for him comes from. Acting like a cringe ball but not fully committing to it. It would go a lot better if the guy just was himself. Cause to me I bet he is pretty respectful an likeable behind all the bullshit. Masvidal is like his polar opposite where all the guy does it be himself.
@@midevlegameingshoo1588 Not because they're fans of Masvidal? Jorge with his years of fighting, years of building a dedicated fan base who are seeing their guy get a title shot ........ are just racist now. Give people some benefit of the doubt
@@ken-spiral1399 you are blind, dumb and definitely not a real fan from back in the day stooge. Who is the actual fan boy bud?!? YOUR DUMB ASS. Hahahaha... Just had to speak my mind to all you fuks
Usman is a great fighter but Masvidal has more appeal he is good for the fans people like Jorge because he is honestly himself and people like authentic. Just like the BMF belt Masvidal is a one of one
this was a hell of a breakdown of tht system, I had no idea it worked tht way, but of course, and how interesting...you have to constantly move the needle. awesome stuff I hope they take heed.
Who tf are you? You wouldnt do the same if some random guy started running at you bc you called him fat? Probably not bc your comment leads me to believe youre a beta male. 500$ fine too I think Mike will be alright
Masvidal was doing this way way before Conor. Watch Tales From The Grind and Miami Hustle. Also far more entertaining and candid than any of Conor's crap.
@@somerled5513 they both were making content 6 years ago but the stuff conor was making actually worked. In my opinion conor made the better videos and its probably why he had way more viewers. Either way colby and whoever else did not start this trend
As a professional bodybuilder,I wholeheartedly agree that you need to tell your own story. So much of my success has come from the fact that I get to write and tell people what my journey has been.
Dream Welterweight Scenario: Kamaru Usman vs GSP Jorge Masvidal vs Nate Diaz Leon Edwards vs Gilbert Burns Tyron Woodley vs Colby Covington Demian Meia vs Stephen Thompson
Fans to Masvidal: dude you need to just take a fight you are losing credibility and steam hard asking for money all the time Masvidal: agrees to cut 20-30 pounds and fight Usman on a weeks notice to save the day Fans: SUPRISED PIKACHU FACE
If all the fighters just acted like they were on The Joe Rogan Experience, we'd like everyone of them. Fake interviews, then watch em on Joe's podcast, "Oh, they're actually pretty normal and cool."
(Never gonna happen but..) Imagine for a second, masvidal beats usman, Gaethje beats khabib, Conor beats Gathje, Masvidal beats the Diaz 2nd time, then Conor vs Masvidal super duper fight for 3 belts. 155, 170, BMF. Biggest fight in the ufc ever.
Chael was just thinking to myself you're a multi-millionaire you don't have to do this yet you do this for free for the people man that says a lot about your character I really appreciate you bud. Thanks
Nate Diaz, Israel Adeseyana, and Jorge Masvidal are the best marketers not named Connor. None of them use gimmicks or characters. Cejudo lowered his star potential each time he tried to up his character. It was so bizarre that larger media outlets could not cover him because of it. One of the greatest fighters ever but truly a disaster artist when it came to marketing. The minute he retired his division gets more attention then it has had in years.
Masvidal is captivating! Everything about him is. His attitude, his responses, his fighting, he just lures you in! Usman on the other hand, hes the nice guy, a bit boring, comes across a little bit jealous at all the media attention that Masvidal gets and kind of makes it obvious... both are extremely amazing fighters but Masvidal just has this way of captivating the audience! Hes straight up, dosen't like bullshit and always brings a wicked fight to the table!!
Gamebred got the best story just the backyard stuff with Kimbo Slice as a kid all the work he put in over a decade then his resurgence people can say he's not a top-notch fighter he's never been knocked out or tap that is not a coincidence that says so much about his heart
It’s as simple as this, go watch the Media Scrum and go check how many questions they have for Masvidal and then go check how quick Usman left because they had no more questions for him. Usman is not a draw!
He wrecked 2 top contenders before knocking the hype homerun with the BMF. I don't think he'll cash in on this chance but he deserves the current spotlight.
