I believe in god I just don’t believe the Bible’s timeline and/or events is 100% accurate. God gave us free will, what’s to stop anyone from changing the story up a little

So if the Earth is 6000 years old, where does astronomy fit in? Keep in mind that we know how fast lights travels etc etc. for instance, the James Webb telescope has is specially built for the red shift that we see when light travels long distances. How is the multi-billion dollar project so wrong, but also manages to capture the images. How do we utilise the knowledge of the speed of light in the many ways YOU yourself use, but get it wrong in other areas? Ultimately, to agree with this channel, we have to disbelieve so many of the areas of science that we use this day. I know they try to link it, but science does not fit with this view, and I am using advance science to type this message to you.

The confidence I gained when I saw through the religious fog I had beeen taught was tremendous and now, I know my mind far better than I did then.

We keep finding Dino's, no giants. According to the Bible after a lot of incest among man the sons of God copulated with human daughters (spiritual beings interested in the sins of the flesh???) which resulted in giants roaming the earth. Billions of people around the world, that is: 2,3 Billion christians + a lot of Jews as well as Islamic people believe this kind of shit. Christians also belief a virgin was impregnated by god's holy spirit and their son could walk on liquid water, turn water into wine, feed a crowd from a snack and raise people as well as himself from death. They consider that 'truth' beyond reasonable doubt. Their holy manuscripts are littered with real impossibilities (f.e. just try to load at least one pair of every animal species + food for one year into an arc). Though raised in this tradition myself it made me a humanist: man created gods and an afterlife out of psychological necessity: hope, fear, reassurance, and religion to manipulate the masses, obtain power and last but not least: money. Defining our species as homo sapiens is a mistake. Humanity is overall ignorant and trained to believe whatever fairytale one can imagine. Quality education is a threat and therefore sciences can not be trusted. And the Holocaust, or young children dying of disease? Well, the Lord acts in mysterious ways... Religion is a lie.

Well , I believe the Bible is just a big story edited every now and then from different peoples point of views. From what I read in the Bible, it starts of by say got made earth then water and all that, then made man……..and it says it like it’s pretty much instantly after the earth was formed…..kind of missing a few million years suggesting that the dinosaurs didn’t even exist. If god was real , he/she would have certainly started off by saying and god made these giant creatures first and explained how they got on.

The half-way Noah story is the salvation of mankind. The "end" or end chapter of the Moses story is the salvation of the soul of mankind. The Jesus story on a philosophical level doesn't even come close... Sorry to disappoint. Well the accepted scientific theories don't make sense. The heat and pressure they determine would fossilize bone into rock would destroy the bone before the process even began. The Electric Universe theory makes a much more logical argument. Something happened that made the Sun discharge lightning. As the Earth flooded the massive lightning annihilated the flesh , but instantaneously calcified the bones. The book of Genesis begins when the Great Catastrophe started, not when the Earth started. The Creation Story is primitive allegory not meant to be taken literally. Under this model the earth is any where from 50,000-700,000 years. We've got the religious who forgo critical thinking and information out of faith and the scientific who forgo facts to suit their theories to a religious degree. I firmly believe that there needs to be a bridge between God and the science he created. Both religion and science oppose each other purely out of wanting to be right.

Does 4 million yrs really make sense for the "Dawn of Man", since there are only 7.8 billion people on Earth today? If the first humans really started 4 million yrs ago, there should be trillions of people on Earth, instead of just 7.8 billion. 4400 yrs ago (when the Genesis Flood event happened) fits perfect with today's 7.8 billion world population. BTW, there was only 250 million people on Earth in 1 A.D..

Most dinosaurs are found in low lands, & in cliffs by the sea or in rocks on low ground. The high mountins were once under the sea & thats why we find fossilized shell fish near the top of mountains. What's leads you to believe there is or should be an 8th day? The bible doesn't explain all of history. For instance it doesn't explain the pope in the Catholic church, but it does explain how it started choosing popes. It never explains the holy Trinity, but we know that it does exist.

The seventh day is God's day, Sunday is the first day. God's sabbath is Saturday, but was "changed" by church traditions and by Constantine. That is if you choose to believe that men have the right to change God's Holy day, or if you believe that God changes His mind and His own name as "Lord of the Sabbath", which I do not personally believe. Most pastors you talk to nowadays will tell you that it simply doesn't matter anymore, but they do not have the right either to tell God that His Holy day does not matter nor does His title as Lord over the Sabbath.

This is going off from a spiritual realm more than biology. He gave man the choice to sin or not to sin, it's basically free will for man to choose (contrary to popular beliefs, the Devil never makes a person to sin, the person chooses too). There are various instances where God gave man free will. The first one is Genesis in the old testament when Adam and Eve chose to to eat of the forbidden fruit that God told them not to eat off of. He wants you to join him out of free will in Heaven and not because you were forced to join him. I hope it this helps some.

We're living longer than a century or so ago. But not before and just after the flood. Apparently, there was an atmospheric envelope or something of the kind surrounding the earth. I'm not sure I really understand what you're saying. But why would it matter if God began creation in the dark? Isn't He God? Does He not have the ability to see even in the dark because He is God? Your book is simply a collection of stories passed down for 1000’s of years by people who had no idea about how the would works. It is a book about life in the Iron Age middle East filled with myths about talking animals. BTW, there are many ‘holy’ books out there that millions claim are the inspired word of gods. What makes you think you have the right one?

There are many scientific facts given in the Bible. Google it, if you dare. Since God is omniscient, He is the Ultimate Scientist. Being the Ultimate Scientist goes a long way in creating life, including intelligent life, and everything for that life to survive, and prosper.

The problem is that now a days a lot of people want to erase or ignore the fact that the Bible is a historical book. It’s the history of God creation and man according to the fall and redemption. You can’t have the New Testament (spiritual principles) without the old (historical revelatory principles)

If God wrote everything that he is saying the Bible would weigh a ton. He said that man would increase in knowledge in the last days, & now we see it coming to pass.

@@oggyoggy1299 yes, mostly down, like on a baby chick. The creation days uses the term for eras. English also uses day for a 24 hour day and an era, as in "In Queen Victoria's day..." We learned in the last century dinosaurs ar birds, and birds had an era in which they dominated. It came before us. Birds are still around, but it is no longer their day, just like it is no longer Queen Victoria's day. Why didn't we come first? God does things logically, the preparation before the finale.

Dude, the word dinosaur was invented by an evolutionist in the 1800s. If the Bible had the word dinosaur in it, you'd be on here yelping that the Bible couldn't be old bc it has the word dinosaur in it.

There is actually scientific evidence that the moon emits light very different from the sun suggesting that it is not reflecting light but making its own light. Real observable science proves the Bible. Science that draws conclusions based on wrong assumptions won’t. But you’re starting from a wrong worldview.

Reflected light is still light. The light coming from the moon is not imaginary. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that the moon's light is self contained, or self produced. There are a lot of "Christians" that really aren't students of the Bible, so they won't give the correct answers to hard questions. Atheists are the same way. They'd rather not study the Bible because they might find the truth.

I was a Christian for 50 years. I was immersed in my church. You mistakenly assume I've been an athiest my entire life. You religious apologist never cease to amaze me how you will do or say anything to make yourself believe your bible is true. Have you forgotten that book promotes slavery, genocide and murder? What about the verses that give instructions on how to sell your daughter into slavery? Or the verse that demands burnt offerings because god loves the smell of burning flesh. You sound like an intelligent person. How can you believe the absurd story of Noah's Arc? A wooden boat of that size does not have the structural integrity to stay afloat. It flexes so much it tears itself apart and that's without hundreds of tons of animals on board. You accept the bible because that's what you're told to do. Don't apply rational thought to what you're reading. Just have faith. Do you know what the definition of faith is? Believing in something WITHOUT EVIDENCE. Why would you believe anything without a shred of proof to validate the claim? If you have the courage to look at this book through the lens of rational, logical thought you would come to the same conclusion. But the church doesn't want you to do that. Don't think, just do. Believe me. I know.

I'm sorry your mother doesn't know how to explain it but that doesn't mean its unexplainable. Because the Bible says God placed them there as lights. Ever been outside when there's a full moon? Isn't there a lot of light?

Nothing is proved to be a transitional form unless there are hundreds of intermediate fossils to prove one creature evolved into a completely different type of creature, like a reptile evolving into a bird. No such transitional fossils exist. Even evolutionist, Steven J. Gould admitted,"the intermediate fossils are absent", which is the reason he concocted the Punctuated Equilibrium, to explain why gradualism in the fossils aren't observed.

@@sebastiannolte1201 A Pug is a dog, just as a Poodle is a dog. There is no sign that they're becoming a completely different kind of creature. They're still dogs, so no evolution. Variations are scientific, and is observed everyday. Variations is probably God's way of adding spice to our life, and making sure it's not too boring. Evolution is imaginary, where one creature evolves into a completely different creature has never been observed. Therefore, not scientific.

Similar thinking. Bible helped give the new society of the day some answers and moral direction. Today society is established and educated to the point of the big bang theory, but the question now sits what's outside the universe and before the big bang. Odd touch from God building our puzzle. If you are eternal, 13.7billion years and counting doesn't seem long.

@@ThePlim62 God is still in the creation business so he is either creating new species each year or helping evolution along. Evolution makes sense when an organism reproduces in hours but slows to a crawl when there is 20-30 years between birth and reproduction as in humans. Most mutations are not viable and so not passed along so there have not been enough reproductive cycles in the estimated 2 billions years life has existed to account for all the millions of species. There must be an outside force at work and it makes sense it is God. It could also be space aliens but that seems less likely. You have trillions of cells in your body and each one of them had to evolve from a lower life form according to evolution. There just hasn't been enough time for all the complexity we see around us to have developed without help.
