Thank you for your very informational video. I have conducted some research on the topic and share your concerns regarding the lack of specific information on potentially dangerous amounts of xylitol. While our bodies naturally produce approximately 15 grams of xylitol per day, it is unclear from the studies you mentioned what additional quantities may pose risks. The presence of xylitol in fruits like strawberries and plums, as well as vegetables such as broccoli and pumpkin, suggests that moderate consumption is generally safe. However, further research is necessary to determine the specific thresholds at which xylitol may become harmful. Until more conclusive and scientifically rigorous studies are available, I recommend continued monitoring of new research and cautious consumption of xylitol supplements and gum.
Thank you for your comment. Yes, I agree with you that we need to take into account xylitol that was consumed as well. What is quite reassuring to me is that xylitol is broken down fairly quickly within one to two hours. So an excessively elevated blood level would be very unlikely in this scenario. Furthermore, we require an Environment that contains elevated blood pressure, or functional abnormalities within the blood vessel itself to trigger platelets to become activated. More research is definitely needed.
@@fvalexan I am just a casual observer here. I had a video on xylitol pop up by Dr. Ellie Phillips where she claims that xylitol can be used for dental health reasons. She says the bacteria that cause plaque on the teeth can take in xylitol, but cannot digest it and if they don't get the carbs they need because they have taken in xylitol, they die. Over time, this allows you to kill just the bad bacteria and leave the good ones in the mouth. No need to consume the xylitol at all. As you mention, if the body needs a carb, it makes its own. We have no essential carbs required in the diet for humans. We do have essential fatty acids (like C15) where we do not produce enough for optimal health, and like amino acids (proteins). But it seems that those are in perfect balance with a beef only diet. Anybody eating something other than beef or ruminant meat by adding fruits and vegetables is getting wasted material. Fiber they cannot digest, carbs they have to detox either with liver action similar to alcohol detox for things like fructose or blood detox with insulin for things like glucose until the levels come down to something reasonable. Humans just don't need any of this stuff. Better to feed the plants to the ruminant animals since they have digestive systems that manage the fiber and we want them to store the other carbs in the plants as fat and then we can eat them. Also wishing that all of these studies would be conducted against a control group that gets grass-fed beef only and nothing else since it seems to be the most sustainable diet available for humans. Since all the bad stuff is plant-based, makes sense to process it via animals instead of factories (i.e. alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, cereals, grains). No need to make pastas, cookies, breakfast cereal, etc. We would use less space distributing high-density energy like milk, cheese, beef instead of low-density energy in plants which can be left on the Earth alive until animals can eat them. So that's my logic here. Reason I mention it is that it seems to me that xylitol has no purpose in a human diet and eating beef only can have the same effects on dental health because it removes access to sugars that nourish the mouth bacteria and leaves only good bacteria on the teeth to protect them.
Some European countries have been using Xylitol since the 70's for its dental benefits (gum, mints). Unless you are actually using Xylitol as a sugar substitute, I wouldn't worry about this study.
Please can you do a show about untreated anaemia I have low iron status and vitamin B12 deficiency Used to be a chainsmoker, in 2019 coughing a lot - started getting severely short of breath ,swollen ankles and lower limbs ,palpitations and i heard my heart beat in my ears It all lead to such severe swelling of feet and lower legs and episodes of gasping for oxygen with involuntary urination simultaneously I eventually couldnt lie flat anymore- i felt like i was suffocating I even lost consciousness a few times Terrible anxiety Is it possible that the anaemia affected my heart?Do you think the gasping for breath was due to smoking? 😢
That sounds very serious and should be evaluated. Not sure if you can just write this off to anemia. I would suggest to get examined by a primary care physician and get a set of labs.
I asked that question as well as my protein powder has xylitol in it. The manufacturer does not list the amount per serving. In my opinion if it’s limited to your protein shake it should be ok. I mix a vanilla whey protein (with xylitol) 1:1 with unsweetened pea protein. This reduces the total xylitol for the day.
In summary, partial substitution of glucose with xylitol at the equivalent dose to human household use of 10 g/day slows down tumor proliferation and prolongs survival of mice bearing an orthotopic oral cancer xenograft, possibly through glycolytic inhibition, with minimal adverse events.
From the article, "...Consistently, our previous in vitro study showed suppression of the activity of the rate-limiting enzyme of glycolysis, PFK, by xylitol treatment." Does it make sense for oral cancer patients to include xylitol in their keto diet?
Could you make a response video to "goatis" (sv3rige) how he mention exercise and weight training slowly kills us because of the stress it causes the body. Check his videos out. Would love to hear your thoughts.
