My mom was a single mom to 3. I begged for Adidas shoes for my birthday in high school. It took my mom 3 months to save up enough for those $60 shoes. I will never forget it!! I remember watching her budget and move numbers so she could make that happen for me. Crazy!

@Nope-s

Never been taught to say thank you. Hopefully as he grows up the world will teach him. I love my mom dearly but she wasn't big on manners and thank you's and you're welcome's. I learned manners, respect and thankfulness from my high school boyfriends parents and family. Sounds shitty as I'm saying it in my head, but it's true. 16 years later and I thank everyone for everything, no matter how small. And I address my elders as ma'am and sir. I teach my children the same. I would be so embarrassed if my children were given gifts and didn't say thank you. Even my 2 year old says thank you, you're welcome and please.

I have a teenage daughter and I know that teenagers can be quite particular on what they want/like. If I were Alicia, I would take Alex to shop with me and let him pick what he wants. However, thanks to being the control freak as usual, she went to the store and bought all the items without him & his opinion because in the end, she doesn’t care what he really wants. We all know by now that she shops all sorts of craps for the video content. And Alex is old enough to have learned that Alicia’s doing all these for the sake of video content as well. If you were in his shoes, would you be able to be thankful for the stuffs your mom buys so that she can show off and promote the image of how good of a mom she is on social media? Must be very complicated feeling for him.

It’s so weird to me that she’s so last minute for her child’s birthday! I’m Danish and in Denmark (and the rest of Scandinavia) it’s tradition to wake up to a “birthday table” prepared by your family with flags, balloons, flowers and gifts and everybody eats a nice breakfast together whilst the birthdayperson opens gifts and it’s so cozy🥰 I feel so bad for these kids - all they know is chaos - there is no closeness…

I do this for my kids too! I usually decorate their doorway and have balloons and a table full of gifts and snacks and a special breakfast. Having said that, Alicia flew in Alex’s biological Mom so that she could surprise him and he could spend a few days with both of his Moms. I think that was super sweet of Alicia and it meant a lot to Alex, way more than balloons and gifts.
@KittycatKittycat-jr3ug
@KittycatKittycat-jr3ug Год назад
Maria B For sure, but the important part of my message (and the danish tradition) is not the balloons and the gifts. It’s the planning of birthday breakfast, doing something special for someone, and then everybody sitting down together and eating and talking whilst the birthdaygirl/boy opens their gifts - togetherness, intimacy, being present. Alex just got gifts thrown at him on the couch while the majority of the family was absent and couldn’t care less. No thought, no planning, no sense of a family unit - just chaos.

@@ozziea.8280???? I’m lost? What is your point exactly? My being a nurse does play a factor into the safety of my kids and the situations I have control of putting them in. Does that make me a better mom? No, because accidents do happen. Am I a better mom because I don’t exploit my kids online? Absolutely. I’ve witnessed first hand the injuries that occur when someone forgoes wearing the recommended safety gear. Josh was spot on with how dangerous and irresponsible this situation was. Seeing how close some of the kids got to being injured made my stomach churn bc any of those kids could have easily ended up in the ED with very serious wounds. Instead of being concerned with the welfare of the kids, she was laughing and filming offering commentary. And as Josh pointed out, she would have totally exploited the situation if one or more of the kids got hurt due to her incompetence regarding safety and supervision - gotta have that content. @gregramirez2935
@gregramirez2935 Год назад
Alicia does this to the bio parents to show her control over the kids she may say that she’s the adopted parents and then shows the power she has over everyone including the bio parents. She knows that these parents cannot afford to buy things like this. She also does it with her parents when she goes and buys things for the kids like at Christmas time the parents did not buy a gift for the kids she did and put the parents name on it. This is part of narcissism and by doing that, That feeling of power and control, increases the endorphins, and it makes him feel really good about themselves. It’s almost like a drug to them. Therefore, dad with the people were saying about Alicia‘s behavior. It is true, and this is coming from a retired psychologist.
@gregramirez2935
@gregramirez2935 Год назад
I don’t think Alex is favored however, I do believe that Alex knows how to play a sophisticated game. Dad adopted in foster kids learn what I’m going through the process. When I see an Alex is dead he goes to the right parent and that is his dad. His dad loves the fact that Alex plays sports and that tries him into into Alex. Alex spends time with his dad. He talks to his dad and then doing so he puts these little tiny thoughts that these thoughts influences his dads way of thinking. towards Alex. On the other hand, James is closer to the mom and doesn’t really talk to the dad only if it’s necessary. Therefore, James does not put ideas into the dad‘s mind to get what he would like. That is James personality and how he plays. and takes care of the smaller kids. It could be said that Alex is a little bit of a user, but not James. I found this way of thinking, and it is a very sophisticated way of thinking to get things from the foster in adopted parents. Adopted in foster parents. Have this idea that they feel sorry for the kids and a foster or a dad. Know how to play it. Therefore, you’re going to see James getting all kinds of very expensive things because he puts the seed into daddy and then daddy goes and talked to mommy and tells her what to get. Alicia is not the main power in this family it’s the damn.

So many kids today don't know how to appreciate what's given to them. I got my little sister (18 year difference) a $25 gift card to hot topic for Christmas. She responded with "great, I can buy, like, one thing with this." Our other sister, older than her, younger than me, called her out immediately. Her birthday was shortly after Christmas, so instead of getting her something I donated the money to a local SPCA in her name. So that's what I've decided to do from now on for her. She loved it, and now, instead of getting her something she really doesn't need or will appreciate, I'll be giving it to an animal that does.

On my 10th birthday, my mom got me a Gameboy Advance. I don't know how she did it, but she made it happen for me. I was SO excited. I took care of that thing like it was made of gold. I kept it neatly packed away in its case with the 5 or 6 games I had for it when I wasn't playing it. I was so grateful for it. I still have it in my closet, packed away, looking just the way it did the day I got it. We grew up really poor, but my mom always tried to make holidays special for us. When we got something nice, we knew that if we didn't take care of it, there wouldn't be any replacements, so we treasured the things we got, treated them respectfully, and were grateful for them. It amazes me to see children so ungrateful. These are the values she's instilling in them that if you trash your stuff, we'll just go back to the store and buy more. Really sad to see.

I wish I had your expenses!! Lol. Just my house payment is $2400! 😭 I don't think twice about dropping $1k on a shopping trip with my kids but we don't spend like that every week it's not a constant stream of materialism or anything, we shop based on need, the seasons, they can get whatever they need and want anytime necessary so we don't feel like we need to be constantly hoarding and buying and flexing unnecessarily

If she has disposable income, then how does that make her a "clown"? Expenses are personal to everyone. I live in bay area of CA and have a lot of expenses,but we have the money for it. So, you should not judge. Now, you can say someone who charges things and doesn't have the disposable income to shop like this but does anyway is a "clown" or let's say financially irresponsible.

I’m so sad. He didn’t even care!! It’s not his fault it’s Alicia‘s fault. My sons are twins and they just turned 20. They’re going to school full-time working part time and one of my twins just purchased his first new truck all by himself. And we are so proud. For the holidays my husband and I had a budget. Total budget was $600 and that included the tamales,Menudo Mexican bread and the gifts. We have a large family. We all got together on Christmas Eve played games and ate. That was the highlight. For Christmas they each got a pull over fleece ,a pair of sweatpants ,slippers, a travel case that I filled with razors and shaving cream, body wash nail clippers all the necessities. And they were so grateful. Alicia is just showing off. And it’s so unfortunate.

My daughter just had her 6th birthday. We got her a super realistic looking baby doll that she has been talking about for months. When she opened it she screamed with joy and excitement.
