I don't believe in homework. The school day ends when you leave school. When you get home, you get to be a kid, eat dinner, do a bedtime routine, and go to bed. They are at school for 7 hours a day, learning and sitting all day. There is no need to do that for another hour at home as well. I'm so glad covid basically got rid of homework at my children's schools.

I am in Melbourne Australia and the other morning. I was driving to work and a spider the size of my palm crawled up my windscreen as I was driving. I put my windows up very quickly and called one of my staff members and made them check the car over so that I can actually get out of the car to go to work. Our schools were like , do all your school work and if you do not finish what is assigned ,that was your homework. They did 👍. They also were well behaved because they had to be to get the work done, they did not want the homework. They came home and always went outside to play. Fresh air...

My kids teacher makes them do unfinished class work on the playground during recess and that has always bothered me. 7 hours at school, let them have thier 20min recess, damn!

@sharedexperiences yes, I never really agreed with homework, because they were already sitting all day. If they had homework, ( which was rare), I knew there was a problem with them in the classroom and I still insisted they go play, children need to run and play. Then in the evening after supper they did homework, when their dad and I overlooked to help see if there is an issue or if they were just goofing off in school that day.

Also I totally agree with traveling isn't for everyone. I hate traveling. I know it's wonderful to see new places. I'm happy to go every once in awhile but it really stresses me out and I'm just more comfortable doing weekend trips closer to home
