Every time I hear, or listen to Down, I think of a friend of mine who died a year & a half ago. He absolutely adored Down! Dee was only 26 when he died, and although he was taken way too soon, he spent those 26years being the best friend anyone could ever have hoped for. He was always there for me, and I miss him so very, very much. RIP Dee xxx
i am SO GLAD that Down exists...they really are their own genre...need need NEED to see these guys live...in the "an evening with down" format preferably.
@@jeremyjames1659yea I agree Pantera live there was none better.i do love me some down tho.that Nola album was a fucking masterpiece.pantera will always be my favorite band though
Fucking pure music. Love it! DOWN, Pantera, and other thrash, and heavy metal music, that's the pure energy, feelings, and magic. No one can take it out from us, even newshit radio and tv... Stay tune!
down are awesome as hell! one of my favourite bands out there. phil is doing an amazing job on the vocals. totally agree with Blade686. phil anselmo is one of the best singers I've ever heard! PHIL ANSELMO FTW!
@Tutuljko I think the lyrics to the song are quite abstract. I think it's just expressing Phil's (and the other guys) pride in New Orleans, especially in the face of adversity... they were all affected by Katrina, alot of the Over the Under album is about Katrina. You can really take whatever you want from a song when the lyrics are presented in an abstract way like this, and this is how I take it. Hope this helps, can't wait for Down IV.
What are you talking about dude? His sound was fucking amazing on this album and if you listen closely you'll hear some awesome bass tracks! Rex left because he was tired of working with Phil for more than 20 years of his life, and I believe there's also a story going around that he had to leave due to his alcohol problems. But I don't mind he left, because Down has a new kick ass bassist and Kill Devil Hill is amazing! I can't wait for the new album, of both bands!
im not a metal fan. ive never even heard any of panteras songs (for more then a few seconds). but i fucking LOVE this kick to the balls made entirely of sound xD
I saw Down in Sweden in 2007 in a very small club. I was a bit doubtful since I used to love the Pantera albums from Cowboys. Thought Phil's voice was fucked... well, this concert was a big smack in the face, a lesson of rock and the whole band, including Phil rocked the place !!
