it’s one thing being so big you lose independence but it’s another to selfishly put your daughter in the same position as you, knowing how horrible it can be.

A lot of these patients don't seem to understand that it's not about making Dr. Now happy, it's about doing it for their own health!

He's literally done this thousands of times. He knows when a patient is lying. He's not stupid and he doesn't suffer fools gladly.

She managed to blame every single person around her except for herself.

"it was supposed to be easier after weight loss surgery" what she means is she thought she didn't have to REALLY work for it. It will always be hard, the surgery is a tool not a solution

After being a nurse for 28 years, I’ve seen my share of people asking about weight loss surgery. I started printing out the post surgery diet and would give them that to look at. It’s very restrictive! I usually suggest they follow the post surgery diet now, and they will lose weight. Then decide if they really want to do it. I’ve also seen the people who don’t keep up with the diet after their surgery, and they end up getting sick. There is no easy fix for this. It’s hard work, no matter how you do it!

The mum and kid are eating all the dad's food. He is just skin and bones.

What these patients don’t realize is that Dr. Now doesnt just want you to lose a set amount of weight because the surgery requires it. It’s also to prove that you have the mindset to keep up with the dietary requirements post surgery.

The husband has a look of absolutely hopelessness in his eyes….and the most heartbreaking part, her poor daughter is on the same path to becoming her mother. Absolutely heartbreaking.

She’s good at playing the victim

She's so worried that the doc will be "mean" to her, but is completely oblivious that she's risking life threatening complications.

Dr. Now has the patience of a Saint. Dealing with victim mentality day in and day out is mentally and emotionally draining. It’s a wonder how he’s able to keep doing this for so long. I believe he’s of retirement age, but he chooses to continue to help people. More props to him.

Her young daughter is what concerns me more. Allowed to have a snack whenever she wants to, and nobodys taking responsibility

"Your dad can help you get a snack" to her daughter, but she can easily get up to get food for herself a minute later....

A lot of this has to do with just having too much free time. If all you're gonna do is sit around and watch tv, of course you're gonna feel like comforting yourself with food. She could try doing stuff like volunteering or starting some sort of home business that occupies her time. Those types of things would be more helpful to her recovery than just lounging around the house.

This show has motivated me to lose weight lol I was like 250 or 260 now I'm 240 and I'm gonna keep going 💪🏻

None of them are happy. There is no joy or zest for life. No one smiles. They even walk sad. It’s actually heartbreaking to see a family with no hope… not the parents and not that poor little girl. The only happy thing she did was get a snack.

When she says 'he won't listen to me' what she means is 'he won't let me talk him into believing what I want him to'

I grew up helping my folks a lot because mom has severe RA and dad was severely obese. I took after dad and grew up severely obese and just recently had bariatric surgery (90 lbs, gone forever!). Whenever I see a child like this little girl, I want to shake her parents so hard and scream at them to do something for her. Get her more active, change her diet EVEN IF IT MEANS CHANGING THE WHOLE FAMILY'S DIET TOO. Save her future from becoming your present.

That poor child. That's bordering child abuse for letting her become so chubby. It does nothing for her health or self esteem to let her eat junk food all day.

As someone who has struggled with binge eating disorder it is a a very hard cycle to break. Absolutely caused by mental health issues. The thing that helped me be able to lose and keep off serious weight was going to bed earlier, using self control if I start to binge and if I am about to binge replacing the junk foods with healthy foods, I love baby carrots to snack on. And they’re filling. For anyone that struggles with BED these are just a few tips that have helped me with weight loss and also gaining back control when it comes to My eating disorder. Exercise makes a world of difference too, mentally and physically. I really believe she has a food addiction and possibly BED and really needs to work with the therapist if she had any hope at success in her weight loss journey.

Tammy needs him as her doctor, maybe she’d actually be held accountable for her actions too…

I weep for her daughter. She's going to be in danger regarding her weight and she's way too young to have to deal with that. Put away the food for your kid woman!

What makes me sad is that this family clearly associates healthy eating with weightloss instead of associating healthy eating with good health.

So she's had weightloss surgery but she hasn't dealt with the reasons why she eats, She's not exactly setting a good example for her daughter tbf.

The little girl needs help right now. She's probably already being bullied for being overweight. Somebody needs to step in and teach her some healthy eating habits.

Stop 🛑 your self-centeredness and try focusing on your poor daughter who appears to be heading down the same path as you. Now THAT is something that is definitely “wrong.”

Dr. Now is a great doctor. Really tho I hope that he'll be around for a long time we need more people like him.

"The weight loss surgery isn't working like it's supposed too" Lady. Your stomach was made smaller. That's all. It's so you don't feel hungry all the time. Even if you're sticking to the diet, you can't eat ALL YOU WANT of 'healthy' food. I immediately thought that she was stretching her stomach back out before Dr. Nao even said it. I don't think she understands how the surgery works. Which is insane. It's not magic, your stomach is smaller so you can eat smaller portions and not feel hungry.

Her child is on the way to becoming just like her Mom. Get her to lose weight NOW! Her husband is thin as a rial! If she only ate what he eats wouldn't that help?

I never disliked someone like this before. The children and husband are pitiful.

(just clarifying I don't condone leaving therapy without serious consideration, it just wasn't working for me) You gotta find the HEALTHY coping mechanisms that work for you and then you'll see improvement, slow and steady. It took me 3 years to recover from my issues, it's a helluva journey but a necessary one. I have faith in you!

She can walk so she can exercise. She needs to stop being so lazy

Okay 2 therapy sessions is nothing. I’d imagine that she needs at least 2 years of sessions.

Imagine being a mother and only caring for yourself. That child is living a sad life

It's amazing that these people don't just get rid of the junk. Not like her kid needs it either. 🙄 If one of my family members was like this, they'd have to get their ass up and walk to the store and get it or starve.

She does have emotional issues to say she feels like she lost her best friend by not having food in her life. She must not be totally honest with her psychotherapist. Her little girl IS on her way to continuing to gain weight and her mother should know better! Shame on the husband/father for feeding his child way too much!

After watching this show, season after season it’s the same excuses, the blaming everyone other than themselves, as if they themselves aren’t the ones that suffer the ultimate consequences! The ever so popular excuse “Idk why I’m not losing any weight” or “Idk why I’m gaining weight because I’m following your instructions “ are my favorite 🐂💩 lines!

I don’t get the people on the show that complain about Dr. Now. Have you never watched the show? Nobody made you go to him!

Why is everyone waiting on her? She obviously can walk. Bless her,she's not setting a good example for her daughter. The whole family seems so unhappy, so sad.pray things turn around.

What people like her need is a medically prescribed diet, along with some sort of rehab facility to help facilitate the meal and exercise plans. Make it Richard Simmons themed.

It’s so sad to see her shaking her head as Dr. Now is talking. There are so many people who would love his help & expertise. Regardless, I hope she is in a better place emotionally & physically!

Accountability is so hard for a lot of these patients

Looking at him, you'd think there'd been a famine. Looking at her, you'd think she'd caused it.

Stop looking for excuses, stop blaming everyone else. You have to do it for yourself. You are the only one responsible for what's happening.

I couldn’t imagine hurting getting off a couch, or being out of breath after a few steps. It’s heartbreaking and I wish them all the best

This is the result of setting very high expectations thinking another external thing will fix you. Surgery did reduce her stomach by 90% but resolved her trauma by 0%. That’s why psychotherapy is ESSENTIAL!

It is so interesting watching people with food addiction be so in denial. I was a heroin addict for years but I knew when I messed up. People with food addiction are in a state of denial that is so deep.

There is no reason she cannot lose the weight, she can still stand up atleast. Some people start this thing bed ridden and end it walking.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Don’t take responsibility for yourself, and there will be no positive results.

I used to be extremely obese & constantly got judged and bullied for my weight. I wish someone would've brought it to my attention in a positive way and helped me lose weight so it wouldn't carry on as I started to become a young adult. I feel so bad for that little girl. Hope they're all okay. 🖤

I watch these clips while I eat now. I will honestly say it helps me curb my appetite. Not even trying to be funny it really has helped me mentally not over eat or snack.

My friend lost 300 pounds after her surgery. She looked incredible and we were so proud of her. Now she has gained 400 pounds. Sad and true.....WL surgery is a tool not a miracle.

I'm afraid for her daughter! I was a obese kid and it's brutal! My graduating class was 596 people and they mooed at me when I crossed the stage. So sad

Its almost like some people search for a partner that wont fight back or have a backbone so they can do what they want and simultaneously blame the partner for not supporting them

Dr Now is such a good doctor he really wants to understand the patient. And he operates always clean I really like him

I had gastric bypass in2009. It's the best decision I've ever made. I weighed 237 and am 5'3". I lost 100 pounds. The doctors/surgeons had a really good support group and we met twice a month. It really helped. Even before we had surgery we attended the meetings. That's what these people really need. I know one guy who had the surgery, he's a bus driver so I see him often. He's gained at least half of the weight he lost back. I'm always tempted to say something to him but I keep my mouth shut. It's his life.

Why do people act like THEY DONT KNOW HOW THEY MANAGED TO GAIN WEIGHT N GETTING BETTER.

Also, I don’t understand how she doesn’t believe therapy is working. She has only been twice, sometimes it takes a moment to connect with your therapist or come out to them completely.

These people who do this always try to come up with some excuse or reason why “something is wrong” when in reality they’re not doing what they need to be! Dr now has been doing this forever, he’s not dumb, I’m sure he’s seen it all and has heard every excuse in the book😂

Just because she’s in therapy doesn’t mean her emotional and mental state is well.

Waahhh I've been to two therapy appointments and it's not helping! Therapy isn't a magic pill though. You have to be very honest and open in each and every appointment, do all the work outside the appointments and even then it takes time to feel a change. You cannot rock up twice and expect things to magically fall into place which it seems like this lady dies.
