I love how Cells was a psychotic pervert through all three forms, he just gradually became more subtle about it.

Interesting how DBZA and Dragon ball as a whole both started as comedies and gag products that eventually grew into deeper stories

" trunks you can't fathom the amount of dead men behind me" That was one of the scariest and funniest lines I have heard

Underrated line is Vegeta shouting "My baby boy!" when Cell kills Trunks. It is both funny, because its Vegeta is saying those words, but also extremely intense. In that moment he finally, truly, realizes that Trunks was his son, its his fault he's dead, and he will only die again when Cell destroys the planet.

Listening to them explain how they look to how a character would react to situations in season 3, I think I’m understanding a bit more why they’re not doing season 4. Aside from the fact that it was longer and not as good as cell saga, there really isn’t much opportunity for them to add anything positive to the characters and the story. Adult gohan (always found that name weird, he’s still a teenager here) is a much different character than 11 year old gohan. And for much of the season he’s away from the rest of the cast interacting mostly with video and gohan early on, then briefly reuniting with goku and vegeta before being separated again to a sub arc with the Kais. So they gotta center the series around essentially a new character who will mostly interact with 4 new characters just for it not to pay off with the story ending primarily with goku and vegeta. Then there’s writing a villain who will have 3 major character changes and figuring out how much to keep or buu’s characters and how much to change. And problem there is fat buu is like satan, he’s so over the top weird it’s hard to change much. Evil buu might have some potential but kid buu is just chaos, nothing there to add unless they go really weird. Then they have to figure out how much to keep or deviate of new characters videl, kid trunks, goten, kai, kibito and old kai, there’s characters are pretty bland and old kai is essentially a kai version of roshi, which I’m pretty sure goku actually referenced in the series. On top of that, fan favorites like vegeta are absent for much of the story, goku goes in and out, krill is barely a factor. So when you’re writing something that’s character based and much of those characters are written off, and the new characters don’t have satisfying payoffs I can see why the task would cause burnout.

"We have these characters, now lets let them breathe. Lets see what they can do and what they would do in these situations" *Immediately cuts to Vegeta throwing a tantrum*

You should be so god damn proud of that Video Killed the Radio Star scene, Kaiser. Even in this jokey-joke ridiculous show, that moment is chilling. Also Imperfect Cell is my favorite character in the whole damn thing.

I literally grew up watching these guys. 13 then, 25 now. And it all started with a worried farmer concerned about his......patch.

I am still positively one hundred percent convinced that the resurgeance of Dragon Ball nowadays is in very big part to Team Four Star. So many people, myself included, have regained their love for the franchise after it just being some awesome show from our childhood that was only really kept alive with the yearly games.

To this day, TFS's take on the Trunks story is the definitive version in my opinion. I never cease to tear up when Trunks just starts to scream "Gohan" with increasing anguish.

One of my favorite DBZA scene is probably Tien's Shin Kikoho. It's a man who knows that he'll never do any real damage to Cell but still does it because no one's left to stand against him. He prefers dying standing up to Evil to living in fear. A true warrior

Not sure how I’d always missed that Gero’s son had a bird in his bunker, but damn...

All the emotions of DBZA are hitting me at once. God I didn’t think I was gonna cry when watching this. Thank you Mark, Tom, and Team Four Star so much

I am at least very glad they fulfilled the rule of threes with the “Z Warriors shoot energy blasts when they climax” joke. I do wish they could have done a fourth one later down the line with Gohan falling in love with Videl.

Honestly the emotional high point of Season 3 for me was Vegeta snapping after Trunks died. Hearing Vegeta belt out an anguished "MY BABY BOY!" really gets me

At least Krillin got a good end when the series has ended, he deserves it

I won't lie, one of my favorite moments in the series is how they handled Gohan's SS2 transformation, and the leadup to it with Android 16. I left a big long comment about it on the video itself, but I *love* what they did with 16's peptalk to Gohan, turning it from a plea into a *savage* breakdown and beratement of Gohan, breaking down why he's in the wrong for refusing to fight, and putting the blame on *him* for having the power to end the threat (and Gohan KNOWS it), but refusing to act. Instead of feeling like Gohan's merely honoring 16's last request, Abridged 16 opens Gohan's eyes, and makes him realize *why* he needs to fight, makes him realize that he is, in fact, a worse person for having the power to do good, but selfishly refusing to use it.

TJ and the Wombat were some of my favorite extras from DBZA. Especially during the epilogue where Wombat is the leader of the Cyborg defense.

My favorite line in DBZA is still when Cell ask "Where am I? Now I see a light" and 16 responds with "Walk towards it."

A friend of mine put it perfectly: season 3 went from an abridged series to a fan dub.

Cell saga is literally my canon version of DBZ. Saiyan and Freeza still were most comedic but Cell... boy there are some scenes WAY better than the canon DBZ

I suddenly have a giant urge to see a "Hellsing Abridged" Behind the Scenes!

Just like Frieza's "By all means, give me some ideas" is my favorite quote of him, when Imperfect Cell answers to a shivering Piccolo's "How... How many people?" with "Enough" it gives me chills everytime. Best villain quote of the serie for me and such a perfect way to solidify Imp Cell as the scariest one.

One of my absolute favorite moments remains to be when Cell interupts Piccolo and 17's fight. That little confrontation they have where Piccolo is frozen in fear from the power he feels in Cell and then. "How many... How many people!?" "... Enough."

I just want to say that I really loved DBZA's version of Android 16. He is the true canon version.

I wish instead of uploading the abridged version of the entire Buu saga they would just upload the abridged versions of the parts they wanted to abridge most (like Vegeta's sacrifice)

I understand why TFS ended it on the Cell Saga, trying to salvage the Buu saga into a coherent story sounds like an utter nightmare.

One thing I gotta say: I loved the borderline romance that cell and Goku had.

Early Seasons Goku:”Bye Son!” Haha! He’s abandoning his family! Final season Goku:”Bye son.” *gross sobbing* He’s leaving his baby booooooyyy!

For 12 years they followed their passion and breathed dedication, even when everything came up against them. That is the most Dragon Ball thing I have ever heard.

My favorite thing about tfs are their jokes that arent obvious, the ones you have to look closer to understand and just think "wow that's clever", and these are scattered all over the episodes, I'm sad that it ended, but I'm happy that it ended *perfectly*

The recording of 16 before he died made me the saddest personally

The english rescore was definitely goosebump-worthy, and I loved it.

Personally my favorite line was near the end of part 3 where vegeta outright apologizes when gohan goes off on him. It was so dark to see even vegeta giving up on the tough guy facade in the face of what they thoght was certain death. Even though I knew they’d win in the end it still made my stomach drop hearing him so defeatedly saying sorry

Im forever grateful for TFS and DBZA. I grew up watching this hilarious show, from the Sayian Saga all the way to the end, and by the Cell Saga I was genuinely emotional. TFS Didn’t just add humor, they gave viewers the chance to appreciate these characters in completely new ways, forming deeper connections with them. Im so glad DBZA exists and it brings me joy knowing how many millions of others feel the same. Thank you Team Four Star, and thanks Mark for putting this amazing documentary together.

I forgot about the bulma nightmare scene with vegeta and seeing it again made me laugh so hard my sides hurt

I Can't deny, everytime i hear or see the "That year in the time chamber was the best time of my life" moment, follow by "I'm proud of you Gohan, Goodbye son" . I get sad/emotional. TFS thank you for everything.

That last speech that Goku gave, about change, and moving forward... That's what life's about. It's what its always been about. And you can't change that.

In regards to the more emotional scenes and the way they re-did them, I have to sing my praises for the way they wrote and directed the voice acting for Vegeta seeing Trunks die. Lani, if you ever see this, the delivery on "My baby boy!" and "Vegeta, yes!" give me goosebumps every time I re-watch that episode. So much more memorable than Chris Sabat (no matter how much I may adore him and his Vegeta voice that I definitely didn't spend my teenage years trying to perfect) just going "Ceeeellllll" as he flies forward. I'll probably be re-watching the series and quoting Nappa well into my thirties.

Thanks for taking the time to make this documentary. This show means a lot to me. It's not just a good parady. It's a good show in its own right. And I really appreciate that little moment with 16 at the end. Him getting his happy ending. I guess he kind of reminds me of my older brother, and DBZ meant so much to us growing up. We both really liked the character. Thanks guys

I love how this is edited it’s like an early 2000’s dvd bonus feature

So TFS pull out all of the stops for one of their greatest sagas/episodes yet, and yet people are still asking for a continuation for DBZA on their latest videos. I'm not sure what's upsetting me more, the heartfelt sendoff or the fact that some people don't understand what goes on at TFS. Cell Saga had one of the greatest, most spectacular endings ever, and had no remaining loose ends to tie up. They can leave it at there, just fine. I wish TeamFourStar all the best in their future.

Fun fact: in the first episode Krillin had a higher pitch voice, then Lani heard Goku & quickly switched his voice to be lowered as a perfect contrast to MasakoX's voice.

Interesting comparison point knowing that the big point of TFS’s brand was getting rid of “I love you” but a big point of S1 of SAO abridged was *adding* it

Thank you for pushing so hard to get Day of Fates in. I *HATED* that the original US release removed that to put in internal dialogue. And the singer for it was amazing.

I remember at Phoenix Comicon in 2014 when Lani, Taka, and H were bullshitting with the crowd and came up with the Goten joke disappearing after Goku got hit in the nuts by Android 13.

Gah I can’t believe Tien’s scene didn’t come up at all, that’s the scene that got me into the whole series!

My fav moment way cell singing my way. It was heart touching

I like the Android 16 video scene with the son, because it being found on 16 or from the lab (can't remember which) adds more depth to Gero as well as how it's heartfelt, as it indicates Gero received the message, strengthens his hatred for Goku, and in a way more importantly, why 16 as a project was a failure. Gero wanted to have his now dead son back, at any cost, and without dragon balls his only way was building a robot, when making 16 he did it with his son in mind more than his usual agenda, leading to the relatively peaceful Android we know. Part of me thinks it could be because he couldn't bring himself to program his son to kill without remorse, and he kept it to keep his son around as opposed to scrapping it as a failure.

To quote Vegeta: "SHUT UP, I'M NOT CRYING!"

God the season 3 finale has so much more meaning now that it’s truly over

This made me fucking cry, I deadass grew up listening to DBZA’s Goku. This is by far my favorite version of Dragon Ball. This series made me feel for the characters as if they were real people. I’m sad that this series couldn’t go on but glad that I got to experience such amazing writing and storytelling despite already knowing how everyone would pan out. DBZA will forever be apart of my life

Team Four Star did an amazing job and I completely understand them stopping the series. I feel they ended it on a great note and I will forever remember it as one of the series that made my teenage/adult hood. I love this series and I will forever be a fan of Team Four Stars work. Kudos to you guys! I hope you continue to do great things!

A bit of me still wants to hope that, in a couple years, out of nowhere, they’ll do a Freeman’s Mind and suddenly start season 4 on April 1st, with the joke being that there is no joke. But that’s just me hoping. I do not expect that in any aspect

After the DBZA ending announcement, going back and watching the series brought a whole new appreciation to everything they did. And even more appreciative that they did it for basically on their own dime

I was so happy the way they did Android 16. both hilarious and with heart. His back and forth with every character but especially cell was one of the best parts of season 3. Made his death hit that much harder and the SS2 transformation from it make more sense than the canon. Thank you so much team four star for everything.

I know you hate it Lani, but the raditz mic switch was the singular joke that got me into DBZA, and by extension, the gaming channel, streams, and now unabdriged. I had been on a personal crusade against the blasphemy of "double sunday", and to have someone else mention that made the world to me.

Honestly we can all say that dbzA is not a fan made parody it is it’s own dub the best version of the show behind the original sub of the show good bye dbzA you are hilarious and I will always quote what ever u said thank you and I can’t wait for the rest of the stuff u make

Oh, that ending quote of Goku's... I'm crying. I quoted that on TFS's DBZA is Over video. I felt it fit perfectly. And it fits perfectly here too. Episode 60 still gives me chills every time I watch it. Such amazing and talented people.

Thank you. This is the closure I needed. I hadn't been able to look at TFS as... more than DBZA. It's been hard with it ending. And now I can finally let it go.

Having it end at cell seems kinda right, could y'all imagine if they tried straightening out the buu saga? They were already getting burn out O.o

my favorite part in DBZA cell saga (and DBZA overall) is the change the made for the androids summarized best in 2 different moments that someone tells the androids they making a bad choice, and then each in his/her own turn replies, "yes, but it's mine to make" very deep and very philosophical as in "what does having 'free choice' means". my favorite comedic moment in this saga is Vegeta vs Semi-Perfect cell (including the Vegeta vs Trunks part) and everything Vegeta in the Broly movie (yeah, Vegeta was just killing it in this saga) most badass moments are the epic Kikoho and far far away down in 2nd place is Trunks vs the androids in the Epilogue

The shift in tone on their faces when they start talking about editing breaks my heart.
