New cards! I know Cable and Domino are the new hotness, but you’ve probably already seen them take on this scenario a dozen times by now, so I decided to take an old favorite against the new campaign to see how that shakes out. Does Drax have what it takes to save the Morlocks??

🚨🚨Minor mistake alert! In this scenario ALL the enemies attack the Morlocks, not just the villain. I didn’t realize that and at the end of the game a minion should’ve attacked a Morlock. Doesn’t affect the result in any way, but I didn’t want to mislead anyone. Be sure to be having the minions attack the Morlocks as well! Thanks to Daniel for pointing that out!

Draaaaax! That was fantastic. The ASMR whispering caught me by surprise but it was totally clear to hear :) Love the Retaliate-heavy style! Can't wait for more.

Thanks buddy! Haha glad to hear it. I have to drop in and out of the quiet talk throughout the campaign so I don’t want it to be a detriment. A necessary evil 😅 And the retaliate stuff has been sooooo fun

Honestly I'm so glad Drax won the vote haha, he wasn't at the time I voted - he was something like 3% behind Cable or Domino. Like the actual Drax, he powered up after a couple of turns to find the win!

@@VillainTheory lol that’s such a perfect analogy! And I’m glad too. I was actually surprised it wasn’t more of a runaway. I figured the novelty of it alone would get the votes. But it’s been really fun coming up with a new deck for each scenario. He’s so limited in focus you’ve really gotta tailor his decks to what he’s facing which I so super enjoy

That's really fun. The more I see of standard campaigns, the more I think the reason I rarely play campaigns is because I tend to play on expert all the time. Being able to change your deck up is so much fun. Playing the exact same deck fives times in a row? And having to restart the whole thing if you lose to the final villain? Yuck.

Dunno huw I i missed this campaign run with Drax! Always fun seeing the "non-meta" decks get a chance to shine. I've been working on a Float Like A Butterfly Kitty deck for this campaign!

Hopefully I can show some things that will be helpful! I will say the campaign is forcing me to play in some unusual ways with him but hopefully the core fun of Drax will still come through!

Awesome! So glad you’re using an older hero. I always play older heroes against the new scenarios. I still haven’t touched domino or cable and I got the game a day early lol. 🤫 I voted for Drax btw

Excellent gameplay happy to see direct do some work. I can’t remember if this something you mentioned, but it’s definitely something I missed my first several times playing this scenario every enemy, including the minions, will target the more locks. This had no bearing on this game, but that last attack from the minions, I think should’ve targeted a more luck.

Great gameplay and always a pleasure to see Drax in action! I am wondering if Preemptive Strike was played correctly around the 38th minute. The card says that each boost icon on the card is cancelled and to do damage equal to number of cancelled boost icons, but you counted the amplifier icons on the side schemes as well. I think you only cancel that one boost icon on that card and only do 1 damage as a result? Cheers

Thanks! Well, that’s a good question so I double checked and the rules for Amplify say that the you add one boost icon to the boost card for the activation. So I do believe it’s as if they’re actually on the card. If that’s the case then they would interact with Preemptive Strike in the way we want them to!

Drax out of retirement for a campaign?! That was fun! I've played NeXt Evolution 4 times with X-Men/X-Force, but will run it with some non-mutants too! When I sort cards after a scenario, I sort the Campaign Encounter Cards into my Standard stack so I don't have to keep track of them.

@@GetUpandGame I still see the core of “normal Drax” aka “punchy protection” though! It was a good blend of being scenario prepped. Your inclusion of Night Nurse was brilliant, she was a rock star for this match up and great to have out early.

I understand why you wanted to do something different from other content creators, but I personally would much rather have seen you play Cable/Domino anyway, as your playstyle is similar to mine and I was intrigued to see how you played them. Still, not a complaint, just a reminder that you don't always have to be different to draw views! As always, great playthrough.

That’s great feedback, thank you for sharing 🙂. I certainly plan to play them as soon as I’m able to! Which one do you find yourself more drawn to? I’m surprised by how much I like Cable. I thought Domino was gonna be my new favorite hero (and I do like her) but Cable has been the one I want to play more surprisingly

@@GetUpandGame yeah, of the two my preference is actually Cable. Domino's fun for all her shenanigans but it gives me a headache when I play her as I always get the feeling I'm not playing her optimally! Cable is just a strong hero with lots of interesting decisions to make, and a ton of fun cards that can really combo well off each other. He's far and away my favourite thing about the new expansion, but I'm really looking forward to Psylocke and Deadpool!

@@samvisser9408 nice! Yeah I’m loving the consistency Cable can bring to a deck with his guaranteed side scheme. I like to build a lot of dumb janky decks that require one card to show up early and he makes that possible 😆 Psylocke is my next one I’m the most hyped for!! But Deadpool looks super fun for sure 👍

@@samvisser9408 haha well I can guarantee it won’t be the precons. I really don’t enjoy playing them. I think for Domino I really want to play her in Leadership. And I really like Askani son so I want to play Cable in protection. I’ll definitely be getting to them as soon as I can!
