@@glendarjj3991 my favorite comment. Dunkeys fans destroy memes so well, they’re the best in the business. The makes you feel meme, it has a little something for everyone, gex meme, and more
@@gabeitch9142 the only reason I used a gex one is because I knew I would get some likes because those ones usually had quite a few, and this is one of my favorite dunkey videos, so you gotta do what you gotta do
Apparently accidentally defeating Toriel is common (how even?) but really, how can you accidentally kill Papyrus after starting out with acting on him? Though I can appreciate accidentally moving from mercy to fight
The game tricks you. If you are trying to "not kill a boss", some people are like: I wanna fight for a bit. As soon as some of their lives reach 50%, the next blow is fatal in some bosses. Because you are "playing with their lives"
I've never played the game, but the soundtrack does the same for me. It's really good. A perfect balance of simple and complex. It's incredibly emotive and thematic. Some of the best vidya music I've heard in many many many years. Imo, you can really hear that Toby is a pianist in the soundtrack. I spent a lot of time in my past hearing songs in my head, playing them out on piano, recording them, and transcribing them into music with a daw. His OSTs strike a special chord in me because they remind me of what I've lost in myself.
+LondonLock I wrote down instructions for the color puzzle thanks to dunk lol. But I agree. He shows hi lights of the game but there's still so much more to experience yourself.
Gf broke up with me recently and Dunkey's videos have been really helpful in starting to feel ok again. Thanks dude. Yeah, it was a strand type relationship but these videos fill me with determination.
It's funny how almost every youtuber is making gameplays of this game and each one has a game time of like an hour per episode. while dunkey makes an entire Undertale playthrough in less than 30 minutes
@@ted9030 I have play way better rpg games. Undertale gets the style of rpg and makes it kind of boring. When I play an rpg, I like to level up for a purpose. There is no point in leveling up in undertale.
@@zetsubou619 No theres no point in leveling thats right but Undertale has something better its the fact that you can play during the ennemy's turn then the game becomes a mix Touhou, Space invader and a 2D platformer
@@ted9030 True, but undertale is basically a mother clone. I like to play games with a good story and one that requires me to think before doing something. Undertale was pretty easy and really didn’t feel like an rpg.
After playing undertale very many detailed times I never realized the bear with an orange jacket talking about politics was actually papyrus telling undyne about things
+MyBebopBlues Wait, can you actually "seduce" Papyrus? If the game actually goes that deep with its characters, I might actually want to give it a shot. Screw that I already know the whole story, I want to get Papyrus's Sweet Bone.
+soraroxasrikukiari45 No, it's definitely not and there probably are a good amount of people who wouldn't like this game at all. I mean, if you didn't like: - JRPGs - Anime - Shmups - Corny characters (I do find them lovable but y'know certain people look for certain things.) - Meta/fourth wall breaking I can't imagine you enjoying this game. I think the game is fantastic, top 10 for the year, but I just wish people didn't act like the game is more than what it is. It's not a game "everybody" should play, it's a game fit for people that fit within a certain spectrum. Of course, there are people who probably don't fit in with my description above and still liked the game but I'm just saying it's much more likely you'll like the game if you do.
WootmansayWOOT Not really, since all the genres I named were niche, and anime itself hasn't exactly gone mainstream. Enjoy meta concepts/genre subversion is also a niche concept within itself. How would someone who doesn't play JRPGs (or even RPGs in general) understand what exactly Undertale is commentating on?
@@thepageturner1149 Well of course cause you dont get attached to the character's thats the point of them having their own stories, it must be realll fun to have a conversation about games with you.
17:38 I think this compilation of you just walking while "Undertale" is playing is the best way dunkey found of showing his love for the game in this video, of course this is a comedy video but this little 12 second clip for me is dunkey saying "Ok, all jokes aside, great game"
ive been watching Dunkey for years. Every video has always brought me some sort of joy. THIS VIDEO THOUGH IS THE BEES KNEES. If Dunkey had a Platinum hit collection, This would be his number one video
Its right up his alley, really. The whole thing is an exercise in subverting the classic rpg experience, which is basically dunkeys temperament/life philosophy
Edit: I meant should we tell Jack Markley, not Asgore. What I mean is... S P O I L E R S ... if you play the True Pacifist route, Toriel comes back at the end to stop Asgore from killing you. And you do get a happy ending.
now is the perfect time to play deltarune, the community is less toxic than undertale was but still going absolutely insane with awful theories because it's been so long since chapter 2 same "everything mysterious is Actually Gaster" as last time
So... Dunkey went to the barrier, killed Flowey, then was teleported to Snowdin Forest, where he encountered Greater Dog, initiating the Lesser Dog fight, which is the final boss of the game?
i played this whole game several times when i was around 8 and i loved it and was obsessed with it but never really found it funny. i have not played or seen the game at all since then, but everything is lodged in the back of my mind somewhere deep down. just watched this tonight, was hilarious. died laughing 21/10
