this scene is absolutely brilliant, the direction, the acting are great. This facing camera of Josh Brolin for Gurney when Paul takes out the ducal ring, all the life, the suffering, the hope, the recognition of the character pass into the expressions of this fantastic actor.
Holyshit man the cinematography is the real master piece. Don't get me wrong everything and everyone is at top level but the cinematography...it frames it as it feels.
I just realized that in this scene it isn't just that Gurney is happy that they now have a fighting force, but he's also proud that Paul could finish the plan that his father had started, the plan to fight the oppressive universe with the vengeful hardened oppressed.
And he will do this under the flag of the Atreides, and not under the flag of the free peoples of dunes, which is what Chani wanted. But I think he had no choice.
Have watched the movie 5 times now. Best Sci fi movie ever made. I have some quibbles...mostly with Chani, but they are minor. Masterpiece of a movie. If you haven't seen it...please do while it's still in theatres...having watched it twice in the theatre and 3 times streaming, I can vouch that you lose a lot when it's not on a big screen with an excellent audio system...especially during the worm riding part.
If you got to brag about how great this clip is with no crappy filters and no crappy music but then only Spanish subtitles maybe just title the entire video in Spanish.
I loved these 2 movies, but hate how Villeneuve changed Chani and Jessica towards the end. the end felt like I was walking into the living room but wound up in the kitchen.
One of my favorite parts about Dune was the sound - the effects are amazing, especially in a cinema, and the music helps convey the feeling that Paul is a false profit that will lead to doom! Just like the original books intend to show us. I added the "Jesus from Nazareth" theme in a Dune scene, and you can really see how music changes the way you feel for Paul: one makes him look evil, the other a savior! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fIrPq_QW0po.html&ab_channel=DimitrisTelis
Is Chakobsa, used in BOTH movie and book David Peterson is linguist that INVENTED this language, the Sardaukar gutural sounds and the hand language for the Atreides This Legend also made the Game Of Thrones languages (Valyrian Dothraki etc etc) and i think other movies/series like the ORC language from WOW movie
Fiction: Talks about the mothers of 500 angry Muslims in the desert - survives and becomes their leader Real Life: Talks about the mothers of 500 angry Muslims in the desert - ends up decapitated on Al-Jazeera
Literally the only mistake in an otherwise perfect film was having the American pronunciation of Dune and Duke. DOON. DOOK. Sounded very silly. Better would be the English one. Diune. Diuke. Now that's powerful.
Your life matters, the message of the Bible is that Jesus Christ, the son of God was willingly punished for the evilness of humanity. He loved you so much that He was willing to die a horrible, brutal death. He was punished instead of us. But the only way to actually be forgiven and make His sacrifice effective in your life, is by believing in Him and trusting that His sacrifice was for you. Do so, and you will have eternal life. God loves you and so do I, God bless you.
