@@bleachigo990 Voice acting is different than acting. For the most part I knew Jack Black could pull it off. But Chris sort of has the same voice in every film he's in. He was a surprise
@@MilkshakeGuruTTV the only actual difference between acting and voice acting is you see the actual person playing the character. Jack black literally was just playing jack black, which is fine. I have no issue with it but let’s stop kidding ourselves and pretending here.
@@bleachigo990 To be fair someone like jack black is a musician and already established voice actor for decades. On top of that he already was over the top and always acting like a cartoon character. He's not really a good example of "all actors can voice act". There are some actors who skip out on doing roles just because they can't be bothered to learn to do accents well. They also may be likely to skip over voice work because of that too. It's definitely it's own skill in it's own right. I can tell you right now Christ Pratt probably isn't able to imitate perfectly how 20 different cartoon characters sound. But a good voice actor will.
I won't forget when the Nintendo direct was airing for news about the Mario movie after this announcement everyone was spamming in the comments "He's so cool"

Theres something about how the nintendo direct presented the announcement with just the disembodied voice of the translator with random headshots of the actors that makes it so much funnier.
Celebrity voice acting is stupid. It would be so much cooler to have characters voiced by voice actors who have a chance to create a whole new character with an appeal other than "hey, that's Jack Black!"
it's funny because jack black as bowser is actually good, mario's voice doesn't match his face, charlie day as luigi is perfect and seth rogan is.. im not ready for that
This reveal is a comedic masterpiece. The mugshot-esque photos, the setup of Chris Prat as Mario, the completely serious "he's so cool!", the payoff of Seth Rogan as Donkey Kong, they way it just slowly gets worse throughout the entire thing, mastapeese.
