@Kendall Fields Well...I'd say not so much as bad voices or even acting, but the hard wall of habits (fans of this series are so used to the characteristics those former VA built up in their roles, it's hard to make new changes suddenly broke in like that ...)
The voice acting alone destroyed every cutscene in this game. They could have been great with the old, or just reasonably good voice actors, but this sounds like they got a bunch of college students with no experience or clue about what they're doing. I've heard D&D DMs voice act better than this over crappy headsets in their bedrooms.
13:07 Some things never change... But it can be a good thing. We wouldn't have the ending of a campaign for Zhang He end any other way than with a dance.
Most of these voices are actually alright. With proper direction, there's a few, like Cao Cao, Zhou Yu and Ling Tong, that I'd even take over their past actors. But nope. There's also the actors that sound like they didn't even try.
you gotta remember that feudal china (and japan) wedded girls of young age back then. In those days, 14-15 was adulthood and they were expected to have kids by age 18
Vro I want to like these so badly because I’ve been an ROTK person my whole life but the way they hyper feminize the characters and make women act like idiots (they make women act like how RPG nerds think women act like) I can’t stomach it. I think DW8 was my limit. I cannot be the only person that thinks this. Like seriously wtf is wrong with the people who like this aesthetic?
