This EA conference was like watching a convicted serial killer walk around on stage pretending to be sorry for his crimes while at the same time dragging out the bodies to dance on their remains. All while licking their lips, stroking the knife and looking directly at Bioware for their next victim.
IGN called EA’s press conference a “pleasant surprise,” claiming that the fact that they “owned up” to their mistakes with loot boxes. Yet they forgot about the fact that they spent 20 minutes on a mobile game that I GUARANTEE will have micro-transactions. You know it’s bad when the indie developers show more passion and creativity than the AAA studios.

That's something I always find funny. People rip on Nintendo when they announce that their E3 Direct is only going to be like 30ish minutes, but you have EA go on for over an hour and show barely anything.
To be fair, Nintendo needs to fit almost all the releases for an entire console into those 30ish minutes, so they really need to show off as many games as possible. EA can afford to wank around for 2 hours.
ChiGuy Nintendo should absolutely have a transitional press conference again, not making excuses for that. It makes them look more serious & complete, as well as makes announcements a lot more hype when you can hear & see the crowd. Nintendo in 2013 comes to mind as an event that would have been perfect on stage.
Y'know? I said to myself, "Why not check out the other press conferences? I usually only watch the Nintendo one, but maybe I'll check what everyone else is doing too." ...Goodness gracious EA...did you REALLY have to make me regret my decision so quickly?

+PokemonNumberK Dude, never watch EA. They are the worst of the worst. I wouldn't even watch Microsoft's since they tend to stretch it out as well. Conferences to watch: Nintendo, Square Enix, Sony, Ubisoft, Besthesda. Hesitate on Sony and Square Enix because it's most likely going to be more of the same. Sony is only going to show off a few games because the PS5 isn't that far off, and Square Enix been showing FF 7 and KH 3 for a while, so meh.

Smash alone has me excited for E3, they can't possibly ruin it with Smash Bros 1) being shown off in a playable format and 2) coming out this year. It can only get better.
SMASH FOR SWITCH. That alone will make it amazing. They will talk about “SHOW” gameplay and other games. Nintendo will destroy the competition. There Nintendo Direct video presentation is about 45 minutes it will have a lot of awesome stuff.

I started watching it, then shut it off to go water the plants outside. Pretty sad that I'd rather stand out in the hot, Texas sun watering shrubs than watching upcoming releases from a video game expo. :(
Platypus I’m sure the Xbox One X could pretty easily handle it if the game has work put into it. But I’m not interested in the so far. I’m awaiting SSB5 for Switch gameplay being revealed in the Nintendo’s presentation.
Platypus oh please stop with the bs, it may not be pc but consoles aren't that bad anymore. Plenty of good looking console games like hzd, gow, Spiderman, rdr2, etc.
Tangerine Tech I'm not talking about "graphics" I'm talking about Frame rate. A game set in a world that large looking that good on console at a stable frame rate above 20 is something I cannot see happening, but I would like to be proven wrong about. Also you can't compare a game as compact as destiny 2 to an open world game like this. Where do you see any similarities between the two anyway? They have very different art styles...
Platypus I mean it's not like the graphics in anthem are out of this world good there obviously gonna be better than destiny 2 but it's probably gonna end up looking similar. The art style looks the same to me they just seem to have more diverse areas in anthem that aren't just Grey like in destiny. Im betting it'll run similar to how skyrim ran when if first launched on the ps3 which was totally playable just not ideal.

EA is not really wanting to ever show significant gameplay features. This conference just proved they as a company are only into their "live service" moneymaking bullshit.

I appreciate that, and I agree that EA's conference sucked. Just wanted to say she's cool and her other content reflects that. (also, i don't know how this reads but I'm not saying it in an arguing way xD read it light-heartedly)
I can't even tell you how many times I muted the stream and turned my attention elsewhere, occasionally checking back to see if anything interesting is on screen. The only thing that stood out for me was Sea of Solitude; it looks beautiful.
Players need to understand something about online games I keep saying, why should the gaming industry change? you keep buying their games. This industry will never ever change until you make them, how? take away their power take away there money. You have the power over them use it, you buy the game all the DLC's all the addon's. You love the game but you stop playing for a while because a new game caught you eye and another and another a few years go by. One day you want to play that game again, but you can't things change you can't pay for XBOX live or your internet goes down for a week or the servers are no longer online. That game you spent all that money on that game you can't play when you want because it's an online game is now junk, stop buying games that requires you to be online, our multiplayer games that haven't got a good single player element with it. Change the game companies or things never get better.
Agreed. They will continue because they still make money doing this. Bitching and complaining isn’t going to change anything. Video games at the end of the day are a business.

There are lightsyears between Ubisoft and EA Press Conferences. Ubisoft has a good mix between what they are showing and also show plenty of gameplay, alongsside talking about the game to give you a general idea. (not too long, but not too short either). Some think they are a bit funky, i think i love that sort of lighthearted style. Who cares if they start the show with trumpets, its at least original. EA is lame, boring.
The destruction of those houses was so horrible I had to watch it in slow motion which made it even worse. They need to work on their destructive environments. How can it be so horrible though? It just pops things out of existence and it only breaks off a specifically sized square. The windows bug the hell out of me.
At one point, Andrew Rotten talked about 'giving our players a choice'. We already made our choice. We chose that we don't want lootboxes or "airdrops" in full-price titles. We chose that we don't want to associate with the likes of EA. We chose that, at this point, the gaming industry as a whole would probably be better off without EA's existence. But you can't accept that, now can you?
