Music from Earthbound for the SNES. This track plays when you visit Paula's prison in Happy Happy Village. I'm pretty sure it plays more, but I can't squeeze my memory enough.
There's something so incredibly inspiring about that little melody from 0:17 to 0:33. Interspersed with the creepy droning, you really get the sense of resolving through a seemingly impossible situation.
It's impossible how good this is and how appropriate for the preschool. It's like a child's teasing cadence, a "You can't catch me..." warped and made sinister. I don't know how to explain the shuffling glory of the second part
I kept hearing how incredible Earthbound was, as well as it's soundtrack, so I gave the game a shot after years of curiosity. I enjoyed the music in the earliest parts of the game but wasn't overwhelmed. Then this track came on.
15 years later and I’m just now doing my first play through of this game. It’s so much fun and the music is that much better. I love the bond that’s being built between the kids and myself and I’m very excited to see this game to the end. It’s definitely putting a mental strain on me tho haha like my bills weren’t enough already 🥲
Yeah, I remember listening to this. I'd hang out in the preschool just to listen to it - this track is one of the most emotional ones, for me, in the game.
anyone else feel like they've heard this song wayyy before they played earthbound? to me i feel like i've heard it either in my dreams, or at the arcade near a beach i go to, it feels the same with fourside's theme and others aswell. sigh, those 10 or so years ago, i'll never get those years back, but earthbound, reminded me of them.
@ShadowClawX16 Whether or not Ness is inside the Starman or not is in the eye of the beholder, but Starmen are most definitely a race of proud and strong creatures, more than likely huge, and it's more feasible to say that that's Ness' reflection in the Starman's visor, especially since it would make no sense for Ness to be inside of one. It's definitely a reflection if anything.
the original version of this song reminds me of the song that plays when you are in the the town with the haunted tower from pokemon Red,Blue and Yellow.
This theme plays in Paula's Prison and when that Monotoli(donno if spelled correctly) guy tells you his story. Can't recall any other point in the game which plays it;p Interestingly though, at both points I stopped playing to listen for like 15 min:p

They do both clash each other relentlessly in terms of both quality and tune, but i patently disagree and say that in the end, Pollyanna comes out on top due to how endearing and memorable it is
@ShadowClawX16 It wouldn't make a lot of sense in the context of the game, but anything's possible, I suppose. Honestly, if they ever made an Earthbound cartoon or movie, I could see that Starman towering over the heroes.
Theremin... That's the instrument being used at the beginning.... Anyhow, this song is a bit... Egh... I can't explain it, I don't like it though "-_- That's all I gotta say since if I say anything else I'll be hated for it : P
