I use rubbing àlcahal.on a cotton ball. I only have a frontal a one inch by 5inch . Was six inch. I was a hairdresser for years. and I know how to handle the base carefully. But I never had a base this thin.

Thanks for checking out my channel!....if you soak the system warm water and Dawn dish soap for about 10 mins, this will make it easier for the adhesive to come off the base...sometimes you need to do this twice.....Best of luck!

Hi Steve I’m new to using skin I have been using lace for about 3 years but now using skin love it but had a hard time cleaning it but saw your video very educational question when you use conditioner it doesn’t go through to the skin and mess with all the cleaning we have just done just asking for clarification thanks for all your help

Glad you are enjoying skin systems, my favorite! Stay away from conditioners like argean oil or Moroccan oil, they can penetrate the base and compromise the injection of the hair...off your head make sure to wash bottom of base with dawn detergent before applying. On the head use a spay leave in conditioner. Hope this helps! Thanks!

Hi sir. I have been wearing a hair system for couple of years,, from UK England,, this is the first time I have heard there are two types of hair systems. poly and lace I think I am wearing lace,, would be helpful if you can do a video on poly v lace hair systems

Thanks Mohammed Riaz for checking out and subscribing to my channel! Just for clarification, lace is like a fine netting material, where as poly is this see thru like plastic with the hair injected. I mention of some differences in some of my videos, but I will definitely put this subject on my list for next month...thanks for the great suggestion!

@Dark Dreamz There are many factors on choosing skin vs lace, but in my 25 plus yrs of client in my chair all day and my own personal experience, living in south Florida, where it is hot and humid, my clients(which many wore lace before coming to me) would never wear anything but thin skin. Three determining factors here, 1) look 2) client friendly while wearing 3)what the client looks like when coming in for service( clean or melted glue everywhere) It really boils down to personal preference and how it reacts in ones lifestyle.

@@hairlossconsultant6505 You are such a great teacher. You cover everything in detail in such a relaxed manner. You give people hope when they may be in panic mode.

Wow. I'm a new hair wearer and I didn't know that it took this much effort just to clean my toupe. That said, your video was by far the most instructive I've found yet. Just one question. Can I use dish detergent to remove the glue on the first step? I'm definitely a "Goopy Head." Many thanks.
@steveluttrell5678
@steveluttrell5678 2 года назад
If you are "goopy" then you need to remove as much goop as possible first and then you can you dish detergent. A clean base is the key to a good re adhesion. Good luck, and I'm glad you enjoyed my video! Thanks!

@@steveluttrell5678 One more question, Steve. Should I used a glue remover like "Goo Gone" to more quickly remove the gunk?? Thanks.

@@tiffsaver Not a good idea, the oil can get pernitrate the base and compromise your re-adhesion. The best thing is soaking in water twice, clean in-between soakings, and use Dawn dish soap to clean...haven't done a video on it yet, but my new go to is the new spray Dawn Platinum Powerwash....this stuff really gets the base clean....Good luck and thanks for subscribing!

You cannot work out with poly. Lace you can especially French lace. Problem with skin lace your scalp does not breathe and the skin unit loses hold. I prefer lace
@hairlossconsultant6505
@hairlossconsultant6505 4 года назад
Thanks for your opinion...and that you find lace is working for you! But in over 20 yrs of delivering hair systems, I have never had a client go back to lace once they wore skin. As far as the scalp breathing, if you are applying a full bond, the layers of adhesive on both systems is keeping the system from "breathing". The scalp breathes in both bases, because the scalp is sweating into the adhesive, so therefore sweat = breathing. I will be doing a video in the future about working out with a hair system..watch for it! Thanks again for you comment and opinion!... Steve

@@hairclubrepsteve4504 sorry I gave you a headache, but a few pieces of tape is a different experience than a full head bond as I am sure you tell your consultations. So therefore you also know that to service a full bond client is more work....but is it not about giving the client the MOST real experience if they have to wear hair? Don't forget Steve that this video was intended to educate the DYI guy that wants to full bond and my goal was to give this man or woman the correct instructions to do this themselves..again this was for education.....I know you don't get it...that's why your a salesmen and I'm am a technician and educator. Good luck at Hairclub!

@@hairclubrepsteve4504 I am not sure what is insulting...you are a sales rep for Hairclub...yes? Not a stylist?...correct me if I am wrong. As far as my personal clients that sit in my chair all day(not DYI guys), they all receive 13-26 systems per year, and only expect the best. In fact I have converted a lot of former managers, technicians, sales reps, educators and even more clients from Hair Club, to a more successful hair wearing experience! In the past I have consulted with Aderans, your mother company, before they bought HC, and way before you probably knew who they were. Also have worked with Medical Hair Restoration in the past....Oh yea, I was also President of the American Hair Loss Council....Talk to Bob and Trish Galuzny, we go way back.........in fact Bob was a model for me years ago after meeting him and Trish. Steve, I am just trying to help people have a great hair experience with my channel...not insult anyone...Remember, not everyone has access to a studio or HC. Have a GREAT HAIR DAY STEVE!! Thanks for watching!

@@hairlossconsultant6505 Very few people use a full bond on lace. Lace is stronger than skin and will breath.
@hairlossconsultant6505
@hairlossconsultant6505 3 года назад
@@gdostockley Yes you are correct most people that wear lace, use tape and remove like a toupee. A full head bond experience is not like temporary tape and some clients prefer not to do any services on their own and rely on professions to maintain their hair, and use a full head bond. It's like a manicure, pedicure...some people cut their own nail, others pay people to cut theirs and be pampered. David i am here just to help you with your journey if you pick up one thing....AWESOME...if you get more even better.....thanks for watching.
