Note dont put strawberries on to of whole entire cake,unless the whole cake will be eaten all at once.putting it bk in fridge,makes strawberries runny,which makes whipcream a mess

I just made the poke cake and it’s on the fridge cooling now! When it’s ready I’ll top it with the whipped cream and strawberries but I was curious if you though a strawberry compote might be better? I wanted your opinion on that because I worry that the strawberry will be too overpowering but I love a good compote too😄

use a fork to poke the holes in the cake it will be alot cleaner looking and vanilla pudding usually goes down before the cool whip

Hmm it might work, although I’ve never personally tried it. The only thing is if it’s too liquidy it might make the cake too moist and susceptible to falling apart.

Great question! It’s so you maintain the white color of the cake. If you use whole eggs it makes it a yellow cake.

I chill my cake in the fridge a few hours before pouring jello onto it. Then back into the fridge again. We also use the spray can of real whip cream instead of the tub stuff. We just add it to each slice before eating.

That’s pretty typical of poke cakes since the jello needs time to set up. Feel free to check out some of my other cake recipes that don’t require a chill time ❤️
