Embers of The Cataclysm is my latest Custom Hearthstone Expansion. Themed around the World of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm, this set explores what this devastating event could look like if represented in Hearthstone.
Mechanics:
Keyword - Sunder: Cards with Sunder are Upgraded and shuffled back into your deck when destroyed from your hand, deck or while they are on the battlefield.
Destructive Cards - Many of the classes in this set have access to ways of destroying cards from their hand or deck. For example, Mages Burn cards they would draw, while Hunters have access to some discard.
Elemental Lords Clash - Mage, Druid, Shaman and Warrior each have one of the Elemental Lords at their side, each with their own Natural Disaster spell that has a devastating impact on the board.

Think Sunder is a really well thought out keyword, the versatility of being able to build your deck around discard mechanics or as a slower control deck to trigger it as a sudo deathrattle is neat. That said, I feel like there's some way too aggressive cards in the set and a proper control deck probably wouldn't work. Really like the idea of a sigil deck though.

@@rafaparkour There are ways to counteract that outside of set design, like nerfing cards or releasing the set after the outliers rotate out. But you are right that if released as is into the current game state warlock would continue to dominate.

Great work! Seems like a really cool and flavorful set. I love the effort put into this video as well, it really brings me back to some of the classic set trailers from the past. I hope to see more stuff like this in the future!

That is pretty good! (I think I saw this expansion on your site previously) Though the deathwing is too OP here, because it is easy to sunder him and then it's basically 10 mana win the game

About the balance of the cards: Cards with Sunder feel very imbalanced, though probably I'm overthinking it (because, when not in play, you can destroy other cards and not the card you want to Sunder, and when in play, it's more like azsharan things from VtSC) Death Knight: Frost Torrent: Arcane Missiles crying in the corner, but anyways, considering this has 2 Frost runes and AM is not a good card, looks nice. Army of the Frozen Throne: with some luck this can win you the game: imagine summoning Thaddius and some other OP undeads from it. Probably would've bumped the mana cost. Arcurion: The downside, I think, is too bad. There are already (3) and (4)-cost guys that give you Spell Damage +2, so this feels like a bad card. Demon Hunter: Frustrated Outlander: (1) 1/4 with an upside? That could be a 1/3, but definitely not a 1/4. Occu'Thar: He is balanced, but in Wild there would be many things like Brann and/or Zola to make his eyes scale much more than they should. Peroth'Arn the Cursed: This is too weak. Games in Hearthstone nowadays don't go that long for you to attack 10 times. Druid: Majordomo Fandral: Feels like it would be too strong, but it might be not. If you get it early, then it's good, else you risk destroying it and not getting any benefits from previously destroyed cards (except for sunder, obviously). Rinse and Repeat: Ah yes, (1) discover two spells. Lightning Reflexes for shaman on steroids. The card is too good, but actually probably not too good to nerf it anyhow. The heal archetype looks a bit weak. There aren't as many heal cards for druid to make this work. Although with something like Reno... hehe. Hunter: Natural Selection: 2 mana draw 3, but even though hunter relies on cheap minions much more, this might be too strong. Web of Flames: I think it would be good at 5 mana or even at 6. At 6 it would be unplayable, but at 4 as it is now it's "4 mana cast 2-5 secrets", and the secret hunter is already pretty strong on its own. Mage: Molten Ignition: This card can make ping mage in Wild great again! Lava Spring: This card is good on its own, but in EoC you gave Mage too many cards to negate the effect of Engulfing Smokes too much (and probably even making them into good spells with Molten Elemental) Mementos of Magic: SPD+1 for all spells in your hand and also sometimes (almost always) reducing their cost by (1)? Looks a bit broken. Paladin: Knight's Anointment: Anointments are good, sort of like relics of DH, but this one in particular is the most OP thing one could've thought of. First of all, this makes the paladin questline absolutely useless. Secondly, on average, this would give your recruits at least +3/+3 (and that's just after two other Anointments, in average game it would be +5/+5 or even more). This alone makes the hero power 2 mana summon a 4/4, and other cards that summon recruits, like "Stand against Darkness", will make your opponent instaconcede. Other cards look like balanced though. Priest (oh no): Twilight Infusion: Dragon Priest is already a sort of good archetype (at least in wild). Give a minion +1/+3 and Lifesteal for (1) is too strong. Not to mention the basic paladin card that gives a minion just +1/+2 (although it was powercreeped with "if you hold a dragon also give divine shield"). Destructive Tome: Early in the game this might not do much, because the opponent would just play it first, but in the lategame... (1) steal a random spell from your opponent's hand? Emblaze: The negative effect is too small for this card to be balanced. 2 mana deal 5 to anything with a small downside? Compare it with Lava Burst, which is basically 3+2 mana to deal 5 to anything. High Priestess Azil: Silence a minion in hand? Comparing this to Patchwerk, who literally destroys one in hand, this might seem a balanced card, but don't forget that deathrattle priest exists, so this can get bad very quickly. Rogue: Rogue cards seem actually balanced. My only concern is Soul Collector, but I can't think of any way he could be exploited to be the most OP thing. Shaman: The Maelstrom: There is something wrong with this. But I can't understand, what exactly. Strength of the Winds: OTK Shaman go brrrrr Al'Akir the Vortex: This card can be balanced, but considering the fact that you added THAT many windfuries to shaman in this expansion, this can kill your opponent instantly, if done right. Also this + Djinni Defenders discounted by shaman's weapon from FoL is already 21 damage in one turn :) Warlock: Uncontrolled Shock: Dark Bargain was buffed to 3 mana and with the introduction of the new location in CoT, this card can be almost too good. Prophesy of Twilight: Do I need to tell you what is exactly wrong with the card which has "draw 10 cards"? Cultleaders Cho'gall: Fist of Jaraxxus, the 5-cost from MotLK and other cards "do this when played or discarded" say hello. But this works not only for them, but for every other freakin' card! This is broken and never should be printed. Warrior: Therazane the Tremor: Too strong for 7 mana. I understand the flavor, that everything Warrior gets in EoC is centered about cards costing 5 or more, but this is even then absurdly strong. It's not difficult to summon many minions that cost more than 5, for example, giants (because, technically, on board they cost more than 5). Neutrals: Deathwing, the Cataclysm: This looks like another card that never should be printed. With all new cards you gave, it's easy to sunder him. Then it's basically 10 mana win the game. Yor'sahj the Unsleeping: I first thought this would also be OP, but 1) this counts opponent's minions too, 2) for 6 mana this is actually balanced, probably. So no complains about this one Ethereal Chronomancer: Priests and other guys who can copy minions say hello. The first thing I saw was spawning Neptulon, and giving it reborn with Embalming. Not as threatening as average Big Priest, but this can also produce Thaddius or some other thing that people wouldn't like to see cheated out. Dagger Howler: (3) 3/4 battlecry: deal 3 damage to your hero and equip a 2/2 weapon which you can't use this turn? This is a weak card. Saronite Flame Gang: I can understand giving your opponent 1/1 albatrosses or the weasel, because it's a useless 1/1. But giving him a sort of good card? I don't think this would see play anywhere. Reforming Elemental: So this is basically a never-run-out-of-cards card? This is like Ignite, but this scales faster, and it's easier to scale this. Kobold Flamekeeper: A 1-cost card that discovers a spell is very strong, even with such a small downside. Storm Striker: 1 2/1 windfury that would occasionally gain stealth? First thing that comes to mind is 1+2 mana 3/1 windfury dust devil, or 1/1 windfury young dragonhawk. Storm Striker will be a super-aggro card which probably will get nerfed. Especially with Shaman's Mystic Djinn's buffs. Dragon Chaser: 2 3/2 pirate with almost certain charge. :/ Faceless Dragon: Looks like a balanced card, but in wild it can transform into Deathwing with deathrattle that summons all dragons from your hand.

Hey thanks for checking out the set and thank you for your feedback I do very much appreciate it! Also just so you know you may have gone to my old website, there is actually a new website in the description of this video! There are some small changes to some of the cards on the new site (just didn’t have time to change them on the old site yet). I think the only changes are that Uncontrolled Shock was replaced with a different card and Arcurion was bumped to frost spell damage +3. There may be some others as well
